I am not sure about it (since i do not know its Unicode and therefore its belonging writing system), but it may be the chinese 破折线, which is used fairly common in Chinese, as its meaning is like the latin - or :, e. g. Books - (

The Way To Knowledge! (its not a real name i just made it up), therefor not intended as a spam character nor for decoration purposes.

Yeah, ur right, except for rare cases (which almost no Chinese people learnt or care about), it will not be used in a bunch. If it, in your mentioned case, was used as spam, I absolutely agree. (btw I am native Chinese in case u doubt about it)

Hmmm… This would be useful, as it could be used to break Scratch. But, if your going to ban this symbol completely, why not ban a bunch of of other symbols? Heck, ban the entire keyboard, it can be used to spam. Personally, no support, as anything could be used as spam. Just cause it's longer doesn't mean it should be banned. I've never seen this used anyways.

as someone with 5 of these in my username. I dissaprove/disagree. It's a symbol. I should of added way more, but it already takes so much time typing. Anyways. It's a symbol. Spam should be reported.

they're talking about “⸻”. you have “_” in your username, which is considerably smaller.
