Quick question: Does the moderation team over at MIT even care?
The state of the platform is absolutely abysmal. Bots run rampant, projects with no effort put into them somehow make their way onto the top of the featured page with no effort, and meanwhile the Scratch Team does nothing besides ignore the problem and post projects about space or something! NOBODY IS FIXING THE PROBLEM!

if you report bad comments, the Scratch Team will delete them and send an alert to the poster of the comment.
The ST can't completely stop bad comments from being posted, that would be impossible.

If you report a comment with bad content, you can be sure that it will be removed. What's the problem?

Quick question: Does the moderation team over at MIT even care?
Yes, it currently is. Japaneese people are getting hate because their projects are on top, which is unfair toward those who put work into their projects The state of the platform is absolutely abysmal.
I have not seen a bot in a while, can you please address the botting, not here, but report it. Bots run rampant
Highly, Highly, subjective and opinionated, and also very hurtful. All of the featured projects had a lot of time and effort put into them. The current featured one is ¨How to draw a shark head" and it looks like the creator put in a lot of effort making the tutorial easy to follow and good. projects with no effort put into them somehow make their way onto the top of the featured page with no effort
Do you work at scratch? Then don´t claim what they are doing. Hopefully, they might be fixing current bugs and glitches, making the whole site 3.0, and fixing problems. I have seen a hate studio on a certain scratcher get taken down in a day. That sounds like they are actually trying to help Scratch become better. meanwhile the Scratch Team does nothing besides ignore the problem and post projects about space or something!

I apologize, I meant to say the trending page. The featured page has some really good stuff made by awesome creators, and I don't want to take away from that.
I agree with you on this one. A lot of the hate is unwarranted for the Japanese projects. They're pretty basic, sure, but they at least did something. However, people who put tons of time and effort into their projects are going unseen thanks to some of these Japanese projects. Yes, it currently is. When a project is featured, it is not necessarily because it is “high quality” reviewed by the Scratch Team. A project being “high quality” is only one of the many reasons why the Scratch Team features a project. The Scratch Team also looks for these aspects when featuring a project. projects with no effort put into them somehow make their way onto the top of the featured page with no effort,
Projects which illustrates how Scratch can be used
Scratch is a site not just for coding, it is also a place where people could also show their art, tutorials, or something about a celebration, especially not known to most people.
Projects which are made by a diverse audience, different race, ethnicity, age etc.
Scratch doesn't minimalize the chance of users of them being featured just because they are young or have a different ethnicity. Scratch tries to embrace diverse community, and often features projects which are made by different people, to represent them (leftism)
Projects which promote remixing and the collaboration aspect
I think why most featured projects are simple is because they are easy to remix for a wide audience. That is after all one of the aspects which Scratch follows. It also promotes creativity, which Scratch seems to prioritize first, before complex or high quality projects.

Thanks for this explanation, I meant the trending page when I said featured, so that's my bad. However, this information is interesting and I'll keep it in mind.

Moderation staff =/= Engineering staff
And we're kinda looking for more engineers at the moment, because are current ones are overworked. Please stop yelling at the mods and engineers.
