[NOW HIRING] ODST ASSAULT: A Halo Fan Game - Official Discussion Forum
Oh, I'm still lead. I did make you a co-load tho.I'm not challenging crush i had just thought that me and him were Co lead. Pretty sure he said it officially.Oooooh. This might get controversial but I'm saying that crush did get put into lead by lightcloud. Cheat ik you were there and I respect you with all your talents but crush is just a better leader. Let's have a vote is my idea. Plus we are all department headsDidn’t light cloud make me the lead? Or did i step down all of a suddenForge should have:No. Weapon spawn points not pickup and drop. Just spawn points. Also AI should only be by name. Not actual AI since that would be kinda hard. It's only the editor and not the actual game. Special codes on export codes for AI and spwn points etc. Plus we need to get more coders so that one coder isn't doing everything
- Working import/exports
- Weapons to be able to place down (and power ups)
- Ai (final version.)

Agree on the AI as well.All the art too. It would be kind of stupid to not use it.incorrect everything cept storyWell not really. A lot of the art, story, and sound effects are still being used from before. I think reboot is an inaccurate term. All we’re doing is restarting the development process and building from the ground up rather than from scratch.itd a rebootalr just me then, im fine with that. Forge editor is mostly done, just need the gameplay and qol changesAlright then
Also for the new studio, WHY DID MBP REMOVE MOST OF THE PROJECTS? WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE MIGRATING.
Unless you want to use the old studio, which is fine by me.

Exactly. Some of the art is really good, and would just be a waste. For animations, we would have to reanimate if we're going to use the dragonvare style animating. We could keep some gameplay ideas as well.
Also, aren't I the Project lead?

I'm not going to be as active btw. I started a Mega Unboxed account and i'm trying to get better with my photography and videography and I just got a chance to get a scholarship in cyber security. It may not work out though. I will check the thread every other day to keep up with info.

ima be completely honest, I dont think anyone can really read my code without diving into it for a while. I can probably create multiple systems and put them together in 1 project, and make a separate loader for lag and size issues.Forge should have:No. Weapon spawn points not pickup and drop. Just spawn points. Also AI should only be by name. Not actual AI since that would be kinda hard. It's only the editor and not the actual game. Special codes on export codes for AI and spwn points etc. Plus we need to get more coders so that one coder isn't doing everything

Just do as I said. Ai spawn point NOT ACTUAL AI. You also don't need gameplay either. We just need a tool to create mapsima be completely honest, I dont think anyone can really read my code without diving into it for a while. so the current system I have only has 1 data point, what the ai type is. Idk if I can export/render/save the ai with more data to it, as it will then ahve more data per slot
anyways, i forgot my ideas. ;-;

ok as vikkcd requested, here's a full rundown of all the functions of FORGE (1.2.2)
To add an object
1 - Make sure to deselect the current item your on
2 - In the topleft, select an object, via arrow keys or the keys provided
3 - Click and let go, and click again to place the object
To edit an object
1 - Use the selector tool to click on an object. The name will display at the bottom.
2 - The rest is pretty self-explanatory. Drag the black dot around to change their respective aspect.
3 - Hold z while clicking to snap to 5ths, x to center camera on object. Various arrow key functions displayed in notes and credits
How to set layers, and view layers
1 - To see different layers, use Up and Down while no object is selected.
2 - To change an objects layer, select an object, go to scale, and use Up/Down to change the layer. (couldn't think of a better bind)
saving and loading
1 - to save, press K
2 - Scroll down to the bottom of the map data, and triple click the code.
3 - copy via any method
4 - To load, press L
5 - Just enter the code in, and it will load. Larger codes will take longer (linear)
Spacebar function
1 - To set a value to a specific value. Just press it
