Well, you shouldn't write in capital. It won't get you banned but will pause you from commenting.

Probably swearing repeatedly. The first few times would get you muted, but after that, you'd probably get banned temporarily, then permanently if you keep doing it.

You would think- but sometimes it's not. For example, the Community Guidelines don't say not to mention browser extensions. There are many rules that have only been confirmed in random forum posts, and unless you're active in QaS and Announcements it's unlikely you will have read those.

My advice on not getting banned would be to avoid doing anything you know is not allowed. It seems obvious- but the people who get rightly permanently banned are those who know the rules yet break them anyway. Most Scratchers know they are not supposed to share usernames or link to websites with private chat, but I see people breaking that rule all the time. They're not bad or malicious people, but the Scratch Team can say they're dangerous to the website because they know they shouldn't but they still do it.

I’ve been banned once before, and I can confirm why I was banned. It was because I got muted several times recently and I linked to a game off-site. (It was mainly because of the game, though.) That was longer than most bans, too. I was banned for a solid week. Most bans last three days.

I’ve even seen people get banned for things that aren’t mentioned in the Community Guidelines. For example, the CGs say “be safe”, but it’s impossible to figure out that you can share your birthday or age but not both — on your own. You can’t figure it out on your own, really, and most users don’t know about that rule. Neither is the rule on guns. Sure, it may count as “inappropriate content”, but most people think the presence of a gun is okay as long as there is no gore. These are fallacies in thinking, but there’s not an easy way to prove that these rules are in place unless the Scratch Team takes action.

An easy way to get banned when you’re new is if you troll or impersonate. That almost always gets your account immediately banned, usually permanently. In general, though, you’ll usually get banned if you continue to break the rules over and over without any sign of stopping.

someone has said this before - maintain a strong “i am a nine year old” demeanour. before you post, think about whether or not a nine year old would post it. aside from that, basically follow everything everyone else has said tbh

They're probably referring to a font.

As others have said, follow the community guidelines. You can also check out the terms of use if you want more rules.

Reviewing the CG's is a good idea to start with, but after that I recommend looking/reading the Terms of Use and the QaS forms. I remember getting banned once, for three hours, due to my project being massed reported. But in the end everything was fine.

I think if you ever are going to do/say/post something, and you are unsure if it's okay for Scratch, you should probably ask here in the QaS form just to be safe.
