Finally. I knew it would have ended eventually. But it took the ST an exceptionally long time to fix that.I have returned, how bad has the raid gotten while I was in 6th period? It has finished, and the raid posts deleted.

(They haven't finished their morning coffees. (That's meant to be a joke, not offensive.))

I’m sorry if this has been mentioned (although I didn’t see it mentioned), but remember that the forums are incredibly ancient and difficult for the developers to edit. I’m not sure that editing the forums is a feasible option; in fact, it would put much stress on the developers.
I do agree that forum raids are a major issue, so I think it’s best to try and edify and think of any ways to fix this. However, any suggestions relevant to this forum raid suggestion would either be incredibly difficult or so incredibly different from the original suggestion that it would warrant its own topic (and is probably a duplicate, anyway).
Namely, my suggestion would be to block access (like the ban page) to the discussion hone page if a user tried to go there on their first day — maybe first few days, actually — but this is starkly different from the original suggestion, so it would warrant its own topic. (And technically speaking, it doesn’t require the forum page’s programming to change, I don’t think, as it would block the url or block every url that is not every page that is not the url. In other words, it would block the page by allowing everything except the page to be unblocked.)
I just don’t think that your suggested method is feasible for Scratch, and I hope you understand that.

I support because this would be a nice thing so that the forums were not littered with trash (spam).

Hmm… yes. I only heard about it yesterday. It was like, “Ban f4f” or something, right? Reporting is the right thing.

the create account button doesnt care if your topic is legitimate or not.Only creating topics is being referred to – legitimate topics aren't created so frequently, anyway.1. add topic creation cooldownmake multiple accounts to avoid it. making it forum wide would be annoying and lead to people making posts as soon as the cooldown is up. this is basically “fix traffic congestion by making more traffic congestion”
If they were, we'd have millions upon millions of topics. So, it would make sense for posting topics within 10 seconds of each other not allowed.

but there is nothing stopping them from being new accounts in a future raidbecause as you can see, none of the compromised accounts where new accounts, even the youngest was around 2 weeks oldThere's nothing we can do about mass account creation though, except IP ban, I think.then why put in place useless limits on 5 posts per day

And how would you propose we stop people from making accounts?but there is nothing stopping them from being new accounts in a future raidbecause as you can see, none of the compromised accounts where new accounts, even the youngest was around 2 weeks oldThere's nothing we can do about mass account creation though, except IP ban, I think.then why put in place useless limits on 5 posts per day

we cant. my point is that there is no point in bothering to make a useless limit and that the argument “because as you can see, none of the compromised accounts where new accounts, even the youngest was around 2 weeks old” makes no sense.

But what we are doing is trying to stop raids. We proposed that in multiple ways, and it wouldn't just include a single account in many of those ways. Most of the time, it's restricting people from making a project with the same title over and over again, and there are suggestions of one account not being allowed to make multiple topics quickly. There is nothing anyone can do about multiple accounts though, except for IP bans. If you've got nothing to contribute, no suggestions or ways something can be improved that we could actually do something about, please, don't post a bunch of stuff here. That's necroposting, and Bury's other people's posts, which may have actual stuff they are saying.we cant. my point is that there is no point in bothering to make a useless limit and that the argument “because as you can see, none of the compromised accounts where new accounts, even the youngest was around 2 weeks old” makes no sense. And how would you propose we stop people from making accounts?but there is nothing stopping them from being new accounts in a future raidbecause as you can see, none of the compromised accounts where new accounts, even the youngest was around 2 weeks oldThere's nothing we can do about mass account creation though, except IP ban, I think.then why put in place useless limits on 5 posts per day

that is true, however, we can be nearly certain that this raid was of compromised accounts rather then alts. For whatever reason, it seems as though there is a point on these accounts being compromised rather then new ones (most likely as it would be easier to simply put a limit on new accounts).but there is nothing stopping them from being new accounts in a future raidbecause as you can see, none of the compromised accounts where new accounts, even the youngest was around 2 weeks oldsnip-then why put in place useless limits on 5 posts per day
For whatever reason, it atleast seems like there is something stopping them from just using alts.

a few things:
theres seems to specifically be 2 sets of accounts (one set made from about 2 months ago, and one from about 7 month)
The account owners seemed to have been normal, as they had made friends and there was people on this post who knew them.
They were all new scratchres, yet seem to have pretty much done everything they needed to become a scratcher (like really close)
They all seem to have been recently compromised (as they started telling everyone the exact “ban f4f”, I think it was “2 weeks ago” but i cant remember, I just remember they all started doing that at a time period close to each other.)
I do not mean that not using alts meant that there HAD to be a reason stopping them from doing so, however, considering alts could be way easier to use then compromised accounts (especially since using compromised accounts doesn't prevent IP bans), there is a high chance of some sort of things preventing them from using alts (it could also be that they simply wanted to use compromised accounts because they wanted the account holders to also lose their accounts in the proccesss)
