But it could also be “Sonic & Knuckles reference”. See, it’s better to use full words, instead of those dumb abbreviations. If you’re dealing with a general audience you can’t expect them to understand random abbreviations.sounds like a very specific tone tag that could possibly be understood by those who like whatever shovel knight is.No. Tell me, what does “/skr” mean? You can’t.isnt that one tone indicators do lmao??????i do think tone tags are helpful as i struggle with online tonebit of a rant but
I’m tired of seeing people think they “need” tone indicators. Nobody does. Not even if you’re ND, like me. You can simply explain the tone
Quote this post if you give up.
but like i think you would use /ref for that anyway.
anyway that wasnt really related to my point

There, snipped.

So, first of all, tone tags/tone indicators are really helpful for some people (like me).
If you don't know what a tone tag is, go to my project
My idea is that there is a little section for tone tags at the end of each comment. I cant use cubeupload so ill try…

Like, so you go type type type, then, you can click on that :::: section in the mockup comment, and input a tone tag or three after the default /
Make sense?? I got the idea from the in-game Beyond-All-Reason chat btw
-snip the snip quotes message-Original comment- just felt like it needed to be rementioned ( O O )

also to add onto this (im not editing because if i edit it nobody will see it as it's on the previous page) tone tags are literally an accommodation. if you wouldn't tell an autistic person that they “don't need” something like, say, noise cancelling headphones, then you shouldn't tell autistic people that they don't need tone tags.….i'm autistic and i quite genuinely do need them pretty often. i misinterpret things extremely easily and me constantly asking for clarification just annoys other people. autism and neurodivergency is a spectrum, different people have different needs. if it wasn't for tone indicators i would constantly be misunderstanding basically everything my online friends say to me in conversation. no, trying to “figure it out” doesn't help, because then i always come to the completely wrong conclusion. i know this because it has happened many times.i do think tone tags are helpful as i struggle with online tonebit of a rant but
I’m tired of seeing people think they “need” tone indicators. Nobody does. Not even if you’re ND, like me. You can simply explain the tone (or even figure it out) through the actual comment, which makes this suggestion pretty useless. Why use a bunch of Minecraft commands at the end of your comment that nobody knows how to use, and instead actually use a universal method: human speech?
Benefits of tone indicators:Benefits of explaining the tone:
- Small
- Prevents a majority of people from understanding the tone (big bad)
Therefore, I do not think this is necessary.
- Works with Google Translate and similar services
- Can fit with what you’re saying well rather than feeling awkward
- Allows anyone with basic reading abilities to understand
in real life i can usually guess tones somewhat well because that's human speech! real life vocal human speech! online text is not the same!!!!!!
i cannot magically rewire my brain to just ✨ magically understand ✨ online tone because it never works.

Everyone here is allowed to have opinionsTone tags are ridiculous. Either just type them out normally or be more descriptive if you think your tone is unclear.agreed.

cool, but I doubt someones gonna add /sar when being sarcastic (kinda defeats the purpose), or /jk when joking (explaining a joke makes it less funi), and if someone was angry I doub't they would have the patience to add a tag to show itI will understand your point if you understand the fact that people with autism & ADHD & other ND stuff face really annoying accessibility issues
Even if scratch was meant for coding and not getting fame, people still like fame, and it is still a social media PLATFORMTone tags are ridiculous. Either just type them out normally or be more descriptive if you think your tone is unclear.based + W + fax
Anyway, I can see this being used to get around the filter.
Let us say “cat” is a slur. Someone could say:You’re a c | /atAnd it wouldn’t be filtered.
You could also sayYou’re a good scratcher! | /jThis also isn’t a social media site. I don’t see how comments with tone indicators help people learn to program, or do anything really.
Anyways, for the c*t thing, I'm sure people who don't know the real word won't understand what they are saying (much like using “fudge” 2 replace “****”) , and that comment would be reported by many users who know the word, and the comment would take its final breaths and then, yes, the user would get an alert or ban. For the “YOUR A GUD SCRATCHER J” thing, same with the report system. Man, although annoying sometimes, it really protects young children's eyes from inappropriate content.
Again, I see your view on things here, but i personally disagree and think they would be extremely useful /genBut it could also be “Sonic & Knuckles reference”.
