But I don't think it's very obvious. We really should have a page which is more detailed than Community Guidelines and easier to understand than Terms of Use, and links to such pages should be listed on footer or linked from CGs page. There are some things I can mention that aren't under any of these. Chain mail, spam, advertising your projects on other people's projects, telling people passwords. Also, in “Share.”, yes it does say “You are free to remix projects, ideas, images, or anything else you find on Scratch”, but there isn't anything saying you can't create exact remixes, which you can report a project for which will get it taken down. The person who made the exact project will not understand what rule they broke since “ anyone can use anything that you share.”Spam and advertising violate the “Be constructive” rule — neither spam nor advertising on a project is being constructive. Exact remixes can fall under “Share” — that states that you are able to remix projects, which implies you're changing something about the project. Sharing passwords I would think is obvious anyway — it's generally a bad idea to give someone an account password that you have, and that's not restricted to Scratch.

People are able to be banned for things in which they never agreed to, which is very unjust and almost cruel in my eyes.
I do not mean to criticize the moderation team’s current system, but it does require a change of protocol as soon as possible.

A lot of my projects have been being removed recently because of the new rules I did not read when I joined 7 years ago. My projects were Scratch-friendly when they were shared, but since they changed the rules recently, now they're not and I'm being punished for rules that were added without me even knowing?

My projects were Scratch-friendly when they were shared, but since they changed the rules recently, now they're not and I'm being punished for rules that were added without me even knowing?According to an article I read, some of the rules are even changing quickly without any form of addition to any set of rules or announcement. The fact that the progress on how far those rules (and, of course, all rules) have evolved is never once shown or announced at all is like one’s getting slapped as a two year old for touching the bedroom wall when that infant does not even know what a wall is.
In my political science class, undefined laws are a major no-no. If one wishes to keep society in order, one must actually state all of the rules, rather than assuming everyone on the site is going to know about merely implied rules such as “your birthday is allowed and your age, but not both”. How is one even supposed to know it’s a rule?

Listing all rules would be practically impossible since there are infinite scenarios that punishments can be put into. Rules that aren’t on the community guidelines are also mostly common sense. However, some rules like the browser extension rule isn’t common sense and is a frequent rule broken that people don’t know about, so it would be nice if that was added to the community guidelines in the “be safe” section. Any other common rules broken that aren’t in the Community Guidelines should also be added.

The only issue I have is if we are to list every censored word (if possible; I do not know how their software works), a little kid may witness that. Perhaps just include “every swear word” as a written element on the list, and then words that many will not know are censored that are ok to say on Scratch in the right context, such as “Discord”.

I had a similar idea that would be much easier to put into initiation: Perhaps make a forum page specifically to mention all known rules of the Scratch website? If such a page would be constructed, I would be honored to document it.

Incorrect. Not all of them, such as birthdays and ages not being both shared (even the OP appears confused on this), or perhaps the rules on face reveals that recently were changed. Even so, it is useful to add a coherent list so that more users will adhere to the rules.I had a similar idea that would be much easier to put into initiation: Perhaps make a forum page specifically to mention all known rules of the Scratch website? I don’t think the guidelines need to add “no swear words” as that’s common sense and probably goes under “be respectful”.Listing all rules would be practically impossible since there are infinite scenarios that punishments can be put into. I believe, however, it could be beneficial to list such elements as “foul language”, “explicit themes”, etc. without naming such specific elements. A bit vague, which isn’t the best, but most people can understand whether their content fits the descriptions.

One of their unwritten rule is “no guns”, even if you say you don't support violence. They think it will scare the younger audiences, who all play Fortnite and CoD and all that. I know some people who were permabanned because of this.

There's a common word that confuses a lot of people because it mutes them without explanation. There's a main character in the popular series My Little Pony named Discord. That word is also the name of a pretty well-known song and a good synonym for “chaos”. But most kids get muted for talking about their favorite MLP character even though they don't say any curse words or share private info. I know it's the name of a social media site, but “Discord” is such a commonly used word and name that it really should at LEAST be mentioned as a banned word. It isn't common sense. And if “Discord” is being to be banned, why isn't the rest of social media sites banned? That's the only one I know of besides “Aggie” which I only found out when I was talking about the school mascot the UC Davis Aggies in which I got muted for again, not a common sense reason.

This is a great idea but it has been suggested before by someone else, and while that does mean this topic is a duplicate, it does go to prove that the lack of a complete rules page, with some rules being scattered all over the place, wirtten in a vague manner, or not mentioned at all, is an issue that many people have ran into and been annoyed by.

The very least they can do it make the community guidelines clearer, or add a whole separate page for rules.

Discord is strictly forbidden so banning the word entirely is just the Scratch Team being safe so no links on the site ever get shared. And honestly, I rarely see discord being used these days when it’s not talking about the unmoderated chat site. Not only putting “discord is banned” in the community guidelines too specific, I also don’t think saying that is necessary as there is the “ Be safe: keep personal and contact information private” section that tells you not to link unmoderated chat sites.I don’t think the guidelines need to add “no swear words” as that’s common sense and probably goes under “be respectful”.Listing all rules would be practically impossible since there are infinite scenarios that punishments can be put into. I do believe a lot of other social medias are banned as well that break the guidelines, not just discord.

Discord is used quite a lot, actually. People just mention it in a different name. You are correct, and the fact that that people think that such a method of working around a censorship is permitted is potentially harmful for the adolescents of the Scratch community. If such a list were created, users would be informed that such a site is restricted from mentioning on Scratch, and thus it is fair for them to receive discipline. Let’s speak more about this in the other page that thugstwoary mentioned.
Sincerely yours,
Justin J.
