This is a collab for Don't Forget Day, also known as October 3rd (or Fictional Arson Day, Elric Arson Day, etcetera). October 3rd is an important date (one of the only concrete ones in FMA history, in fact) because it celebrates the day when Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric (with the assistance and non-interference of Winry Rockbell, Pinako Rockbell, and the town of Resembool) burned down their house.

This may seem an odd day to celebrate. It's not a celebration, per say, but I figured that as it is one of the only days that is specifically mentioned (asides from Meat Day, which is a bit too close or too far away (depending on if you read 2/9 as February 9th or September 2nd) for my liking, and that's also a strange thing to put a FMA collab on because October 3rd is more important), I'm going to be trying to make a project that has a bunch of fanart/etc for FMA.

For those not caught up on the storyline yet, there will be spoilers ahead. That was your first and last warning, so please click away because this will likely ruin your experience of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga/animes/etc if you read it. There are some very important spoilers here.

Also, I will end up mentioning death and FMA in general is very dark so please click off if you haven't read FMA and know what you're getting into. Thank you.

Fullmetal Alchemist is a manga (well, technically a manga, two animes, three or more movies, and a lot of games, but I'm going with the manga because of reasons regarding different plots and characters ) drawn and written by Hiromu Arakawa. It was adapted into two animes (Fullmetal Alchemist in 2003 and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in 2009) and features the two brothers Edward (older, shorter) and Alphonse Elric (younger, taller) as its main characters.

I'll make a post that summarizes the plot later, so everyone in the collab has quick access to the events and doesn't have to reread everything to pick a good moment to make fanart of/a fanfic related to.

There's a lot of stuff that I think we might want to include, such as a spoilers on/off button, music, a thumbnail, and an introduction. Maybe also a slide for each piece that explains some things that might seem strange out of context. I know this is a lot, but we have a bit more than a month so I think it will be doable.

Thumbnail: I was thinking that we could feature a few of the pieces of fanart as a thumbnail, but if anybody has any other ideas that would be great. Does anyone want to make it?

Spoilers: Since most of the pieces might end up with some spoilers, there should probably be a way to hide those ones so people don't end up reading spoilers for FMA. As you know, it's best left unspoiled if you want to have a good reading experience. Should it be a button that you can click, a password or phrase that you type in to confirm that you want to see the spoilers, or something else? Also, who wants to make the coding?

Coding: Do you think that we should have an effect when the viewer changes slides? I think it normally makes a project seem a bit more professional, but sometimes feels like it takes too long. Let me know if there are some effects you think would look nice ^^

Music: The FMA animes have a lot of great songs for the intros/outros, but I don't know where I can find them. If somebody could make a project with a collection of those songs to play as a background (I'm thinking maybe play them in the order of when they appeared in the anime, but if there's a combination you think might work better please let me know), that would be great.

Slide Designs: Also, should the slides just be the piece, or should there be a sprite in the corner/decorative border? Something that might be fun would be putting a small drawing of a certain character from the Five Sacrifices in order of their transmutation, or putting a drawing that changes with the piece to a different random (not minor) character.

Mouse Trail: A mouse trail might look cool (maybe something like transmutation circles following your mouse around), but sometimes you can't click if the sprite is directly under your mouse and it might take away from the actual content of the project.

Zoom Coding: Should we use a code where you can zoom in on an image? Umi's projects have zoom coding where you can click on the image to zoom in and you click on the background to zoom out, but it depends on if we're putting the fanfics in as an image or using something like a text generator.

Backdrop: Speaking of backdrops, what do you think the backdrop should be? I'm thinking maybe a transmutation circle or the Flamel (apparently that's what the symbol on Ed's coat is called), but maybe it can change depending on who the most important character in the piece is or something like that.

Hi, everyone! You're all here because you received a message from me asking if you would like to participate in SS' plot. I understand that those messages where rather vague, so I'm here to help clear up any confusion. All I told you in the messages was that you would be acting as a constellation. What I meant by that is that my cos and I have decided to incorporate the star theme of our cabin by personifying constellations. Throughout the past days, Peachi and Skye have collected a total of 17 constellations that are visible in September. You can each choose a constellation from that list (no doubles) and either personify it yourself or we can personify it for you.

During camp, our campers will be given different tasks they can complete in order to earn meteorites with magical properties. These meteorites can be used to summon constellations, or in other words, you. The idea is that these constellations have chosen you as hosts. Each of you will be given some things to say when you're summoned, which will usually be a piece of cabin lore and some kind of a powerup (this part is still a work in progress).

Since you'll probably end up roleplaying with the campers as your chosen constellation, it would be great if you could base their personalities off of different factors related to your constellation (ex: constellations further away are quieter, some traits determined by what the constellation's name means / what it is supposed to represent, etc).

In general, the constellations will have been the ones chosen to help because either you were in the area and wanted to help the people on Earth or just happened to be in the area and there weren't enough people there originally, so if you could try to flesh out a backstory for what they feel about Earth (do they think Earth will have just died out anyways and that this doesn't matter? feel pity towards the humans? think they owe the humans something because the humans' imagination brought them to life?).

I'm sorry if this feels too complicated; feel free to ask us to clarify something or help brainstorm ideas ^^
