Talk about arch linux here!
Tell me if this is a dupe.
Only talk about:
Arch Linux, not any of the distros based on it.
Using archinstaller and/or installing in a VM is fine.

I don't think it is, as I have not seen any ones specific to arch before. Also, do Talk about arch linux here!these distributions count as “Arch”, or is it Arch and ONLY Arch?

No, this topic should be for Arch, only Arch, and only vanilla Arch. Only those who are privileged and use legitimate Arch should be allowed to post here.

Do virtual machines count? Technically, you still have to install Arch, but you still use your host OS.Nope, if you didn't go through the easy work of installing Arch, then no.No, this topic should be for Arch, only Arch, and only vanilla Arch. Sure I guess, just make sure no Windows appears in your screenshots. Make sure to update constantly to be considered a valid Arch user, have neofetch installed, and have a shell history full of neofetch. OH and no archinstall. Vanilla installation methods from the arch wiki.Do virtual machines count? its literally still arch though, does this topic only exist then for you to spread your “elitist” “if you dont use arch you arent ‘tech savvy’” views?Nope, if you didn't go through the easy work of installing Arch, then no.No, this topic should be for Arch, only Arch, and only vanilla Arch. It's the “Arch Linux” topic, that's why. If it's an Arch distro it obviously isn't “Arch Linux”.its literally still arch though, does this topic only exist then for you to spread your “elitist” “if you dont use arch you arent ‘tech savvy’” views?Nope, if you didn't go through the easy work of installing Arch, then no.No, this topic should be for Arch, only Arch, and only vanilla Arch. Technically, arch distro is still arch linux if it bears a similar branding to AL. For example, BlackArch is Arch Linux for hackers. Manjarno is an Arch distro. It's the “Arch Linux” topic, that's why. If it's an Arch distro it obviously isn't “Arch Linux”.

If it provides a GUI installer, that's enough difference to not be Arch Linux.Technically, arch distro is still arch linux if it bears a similar branding to AL. Ok sorry, I didn't get notifications for this, and so I didn't know things were happening
Unlike what I said earlier, only “arch linux” is allowed no other spinoffs. However running in a VM counts and using archinstall is ok too (I installed arch properly once, but when I did it again, it completely failed so I decided to use archinstall)
I'll add all this stuff in the first post.

I just finished my arch linux installation, I'm using the linux-zen kernel and the minimal image. What DE and stuff should I download?
My neofetch

Also my shell is now fish.

It's your system, your choice. Here's the packages to install per desktop environment though. I just finished my arch linux installation, I'm using the linux-zen kernel and the minimal image. What DE and stuff should I download?
My neofetch
Also my shell is now fish.
GNOME: gnome gnome-extensions gnome-tweaks, gdm
KDE: plasma, kde-applications, sddm
xfce: xfce4 picom, lightdm
I also recommend installing yay, post-install though. As you can't run makepkg as root
some packages to consider installing regardless of DE: base-devel and neofetch.
If you do gaming, make sure to uncomment the multilib repository in /etc/pacman.conf to install steam
If you have a nvidia card, and are using the zen kernel, follow the zen kernel instructions to install drivers. If you use an AMD or Intel card (Intel is making GPUs, unreleased, but will be released) same thing, look for a guide and install drivers
