Should scratch ban links to download Unity?
I'm wondering whether or not links to download Unity should be allowed. My opinion is that they should not be, since Unity just bought a malware company, meaning at any moment Unity could become malware, so people advertising it as seemingly an innocent game engine could potentially install malware on peoples devices. However, I don't think my opinion is definitive, so I would like an answer from a moderator or experienced scratcher here.

Should scratch ban links to download Unity?
Well, buying a malware company doesn't make the parent company more susceptible, they bought it so they wouldn't make anymore. My reasoning…? I don't really see why a big company such as Unity would (openly, I'm not saying big companies don't make malware sometimes) make malware. So this isn't really a matter about malware, what should be asked is, are all Unity games are kid-friendly? Which I don't think is the case considering anyone can make anything through Unity, I play a Guitar Hero clone that can have any kind of chart for any kind of song, no matter how vulgar (of course, I don't play those.) I'm wondering whether or not links to download Unity should be allowed. If they're not going to be banned, they should have some sort of way to verify the games for viruses or other kinds of content that could be harmful to children.

I do not believe you are correct. If they distribute applications that have been considered malware by several sources, it is most likely malware, or at least something to worry about. IronSource is not malware.

Should scratch ban links to download Unity?
(#4)To my knowledge, IronSource in itself isn't malware, and the issue is it's adware, less pesky. While it may be malware, it hasn't been confirmed. However, due to the fact that they may use it for downloads in some aspect with those claims against it, and recent comments from Unity's owner, the ST should limit advertisements to Unity.I do not believe you are correct. If they distribute applications that have been considered malware by several sources, it is most likely malware, or at least something to worry about. IronSource is not malware.

tbh most people nowadays have very good antiviruses, so even if unity contains malware most people will know about it
I don't think this is a problem.

The deal has since come under fire due to Ironsource's history of **malware distribution**, developing a delivery system so infamous it got **blacklisted by Microsoft.** It's the **developer behind installCore, a platform that bundles applications to install on your computer, often taking something popular and legitimate and coupling it with adware programs.**
