Connect a scratch project with REAL Wi-Fi
(#111)Yes very constructive absolutely.
absolutely not!
I'm 100% sure they are gonna have the best ip protection or the worst.I don't think with JavaScript fetch you can protect the IP. They would have to use a proxy server, but I don't think they would set one up.

Can you add a feature to connect to real wifi? That would be great for some os's.

Say “YEAH!” to vote.
Sadly, no support. This would be very expensive for scratch to maintain. Maybe for a website with only 200 users, but not one with millions.

It basically comes down to Javascript fetch api, that's not expensive at allCan you add a feature to connect to real wifi? That would be great for some os's.

I agree, no supportThere are very smart hackers who would surely take advantage of the situation if they could.NO. Here's why.How would you get a persons IP… cloud broadcast it? whatttt? No, it would not allow someone to get another person's IP.
Access to the wifi. Would allow you to do things such as get the person's IP and violate lots of things involving account privacy.

(#114)AFAIK, this would give the project access to the networking that the browser has access to, so it won´t be handled by javascript apis, tho scratch wouldn´t have to allocate any resources for it cos it would be handled by the host browser/computer/routerIt basically comes down to Javascript fetch api, that's not expensive at allCan you add a feature to connect to real wifi? (#109)Well, studios are moderated by the ST+comment filter, neither cloud var chats nor a scratch project connecting to a chatting page can´t be moderated by them(#107)Definitely not possible with normal cloud vars
Semi support. Would be very useful, but because of how scratch is, I'm 100% sure they are gonna have the best ip protection or the worst. No inbetween.Could also open up the possibility of a… ONL*NE CH*T R**M!!!!! SUCH SCARY WORDS!!!!
You can also just use a studio as an online chat room and you can just make it obscure. Getting a studio popular is not the same as getting a project popular. I can make a studio and leave it sitting for years without anybody joining, but a project will get a few views/likes.

Hey I have an idea. You can use a cloud variable and well, do something that changes it in a “cloud” way. If it doesn't function properly, then you can do something like “broadcast no wifi” or something.

Couldn’t this be used to hack or smth? How could it be? What happens? Does it hack someones network? How would it? All you have to do to connect with wi-fi is just connect to the strongest current network. If it lists the wi-fi network it uses, who cares what so ever. Make a new network.
