More reasons to report profiles. [Read the whole post before posting]

Here's what I'm thinking: an ‘other’ category to report profiles for, where there will be more reasons to report profiles. Here is what I'm thinking:
  • This user is mean (fake)
  • I don't like this user (fake)
  • Inappropriate featured project (for if it's unshared)
  • Inappropriate What I've been doing (more on that)
  • Impersonation (prompts asking who is being impersonated)
  • Other (user can type response)
The fake reasons are like the “I don't like this project” option on projects. If they click it, it'll tell them what to do instead of reporting them. Inappropriate featured project because the project might be unshared so it can't be reported. The reason for what I've been doing is because people can do things like love unshared projects with inappropriate names, so it shows up there. So that's my idea.

‘This user is mean’ and ‘I don’t like this user'
1. You can actually report their comments instead of just putting “This user is mean.” Reporting needs evidence or it will be considered false reporting.
2. Same as 1 because how will you dislike a user who is always kind to you?
‘Inappropriate what I’ve been doing.'
1. How can WIBDs be inappropriate? If you see a user loving a bad project or following an account built for improper purposes, report the project or the other user.
2. A report needs an average of 2-3 days to be reviewed and solved. After 2 or 3 days, the marks of wrongdoings would have gone.

1. It usually only takes a couple of hours for a report to get reviewed. 2. Scratch team doesn't remove that stuff from WIBDs.

Okay, but then what’s the point of sending a “fake” report? Won’t that just clog up the ST’s reports?

Hello Scratch Team. You have been pushing a liberal political agenda on this site for far too long. This site should stay out of politics. People should be able to still post their political opinions, but there shouldn’t be any “official” political stance or Scratch. The ST is not going to change this on their own, and shoot down any attempts asking them to change. Please put this in your signature if you agree that

Scratch should be politically neutral.

The ST’s biggest defense is that they’re being welcoming, but they can be perfectly welcoming of all people and stay out of politics. Scratch is about coding, and that should be the Scratch Team’s biggest concern to maintain.

This is my signature. I am allowed to adertize here.

I'm talking about the ‘I don’t like this project' report option, where it just takes you to a page telling you why you shouldn't report stuff for that. It doesn't actually send anything.

There are plenty of users I don't like, but I don't think I could report them for that.

Ok, yeah sure they can add more categories. But, why don't you just file the miscellaneous reports under “other”

1. Yep.
2. Also yep.
3. To be fair, they can share an inappropriate project and love/fave it, and make more than 1.

Other (user can type response)
For reporting profiles, I think it would be best if there were no “other” option. Otherwise I would expect to see lots of Scratchers reporting a user because they're “mean,” when they really should be reporting the comments instead. While you state that “this Scratcher is mean” is already listed as a fake report option, that would not stop any rotten apples from using the “other” option to report them anyway.

I do like all the rest of the options you give. Are there any other reasons why someone would want to report a profile? It might be better to just add those other reasons as separate reporting options, rather than adding a generic “other” option that Scratchers could misuse.

Good point, I wasn't really thinking of that when putting the other in there.

One good one to add may be ban evasion, where it would prompt for the banned account.

For ‘This user is mean’ well, report their mean comments. Even if you need to add this option to profile reports, it's not a fake reason because being so mean that most people would feel bad after reading the comment is considered disrespectful, and is a form of cyberbullying.
For ‘I don’t like this user' why is disliking a user becoming a way to report people? And why should you report people you dislike? Like, I guess only 8-year-olds and below would click the option saying ‘I don’t like this user'

--Optimum-- wrote:

1. Yeah, it is unshared. It isn't even public. 2. St can view unshared projects, according to the ToU.

That makes the option completely nonsense. Why would you try to report a user when their ‘inappropriate activity’ doesn't get removed, or it will be covered soon that when it comes to reviewing, the ST can't even see the inappropriate item?

People can still see featured projects if they're unshared, they just can't report it.

For most active scratchers I see, it takes weeks to fully bury each action in WIBD. If it gets buried before the report gets reviewed, then it probably didn't do that much damage.

What I mean is that ST doesn't remove stuff unless it's reported. If they can't already remove things from WIBDs, then this would add it.
