If you have never played Mega Man, the legacy collections(on Switch, PS4, X1 for console players) for The Classic, X, and Z/ZX series are great ways to play them. There's even a battle network collection coming out soon!

You can enjoy any Mega Man game, yes, even X6 and X7. I don't judge.

I always thought X6 wasn't that bad, but Metal Shark Player's stage sucks. Blaze Heatnix's stage is manageable with Ray Arrow.
