Why disc*rd word is banned on scratch?

Because discord is a social media with many toxic and dangerous people and is DEFINITELY not suitable fro children with its bad moderation and 13+ age rating.

Why disc*rd word is banned on scratch?

Because it has unmoderated chat and it is all 13+ and some 18+ so the scratch filter blocks it to help prevent people from sharing there servers.

Sad, I wanted to create my server and advertise it here so I could share new changes on my project.

You are forbidden from sharing Discord links on Scratch, as it is a very dangerous place if you don't know how to use it. Can't you use the project description or a studio for it instead?

Actually there is nothing stopping you from creating a discord server to advertise but you just can't have a link back to your discord server from scratch

Why disc*rd word is banned on scratch?

(WARNING: Twinklespeak Forum Essay™ incoming.)

There are many reasons why.

First and foremost, it's an unmoderated chat app, which on here is a huge, HUGE no-no in itself.
“But there usually are moderators in servers!”
That doesn't really help anything. If a moderator slacks off for even a second, everything can crash and burn. Yes, some servers are moderated by bots, but I think anyone who's been on the internet (especially sites like YouTube and Roblox) long enough knows how wack bot moderation can be. However, most servers are moderated by humans. And again, turn a blind eye for too long, and people could start posting things they shouldn't because “haha lol the mods aren't looking!!!”.
Also, let's assume there are people in the server from all over the world, but the only mods are on one specific timezone. What happens when the mods go to bed, or go out to do things? Chaos will likely ensue at some point.
It wasn't a (external site that must not be named) server, but I've seen something like that go down on a site I frequent. Multiple times, actually. The site in question only has one moderator who lives in England. (There are other mods, but they're literally never online.) Most of the users do not live in England, so on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS people took advantage of that to cause problems- spamming the entire place with horrible words, bigoted insults, and threats. (Incident one was just one person harassing a bunch of users for no reason in one particular thread, but it was still upsetting and draining. Trying to reason with the person, by the way, did nothing. So, if you're ever in that situation, back off, and don't interact with them.)
It was absolutely awful. However, this was a forum… so imagine that but on an INSTANT MESSAGING PLATFORM. It'd be a million times worse, because the messages would come at a faster rate, causing more issues. Also, some servers just aren't moderated very well, even if at all. Some owners will just give the members a list of rules to follow, but never actually enforce them. Ever heard the saying “rules were made to be broken”? There's the issue.

Second of all, it's just not a safe place for children in general. Think about it: you have to be 13 or older to sign up, and most of Scratch's userbase is under 13. But even then, it still isn't safe. If you don't know what servers you're truly getting into, minors (people under 18 in most places) are EXTREMELY succeptible to harm on there. It's not only rampant with people who raid servers by spamming awful things, but also a lot of creepy adults who want to harm children. Not to mention doxxers. One unsuspecting click on a link, and boom. There goes your IP address.
It also has the tendency to be toxic. I feel like every other drama that I see happen has some sort of evidence that comes from there, or server drama is the entire subject. Getting bullied or caught up in drama in any form (be that online or off) at a young age is extremely physcologically, socially, and emotionally damaging, speaking from experience.

Please note that I'm not trying to scare anyone. It's possible to have a safe and fun experience on (external site that shall not be named). I have it, I don't use it a lot but nothing bad has ever happened to me on there.
Still, it's just far too much of a risk to allow people to hand out links to this website. There are way too many bad things that can happen for it to be allowed.

Discord has unmoderated chat which allows you say anything like swearing or saying harmful things. Discord is already harmful social media app. Theres mostly toxic people there which is not suitable for children. (Sorry if i am wrong)

Ihad once got paused from commenting for saying that word even though I wasn't really asking about it just asking someone to record a Line for my animation!

Twinklespeak has the best answer here in my opinion.

Now, you CAN still technically create a server to share your changes, but you will not be able to share a link to it anywhere on this website. You will have to somehow get in touch with people about it using other methods. This is similar to the rule that forbids browser extensions from being named - it's not the ST's site, so they don't care.

It’s a social media site that is unmoderated and dangerous. So scratch has to block it because this is a kids site and discord is not.
