“Hey, in going shopping for pretty accessories and stuff. Do you want anything?”
“Can you get me one with beautiful pearls?”
“Alright.”
“And another with loose braided strings down the sides.”
“Okay…”
“Some with leaves, too?”
“Uh…”
“And one with gold. I like gold.”
“That's too much for me to buy in one spree!”
“Oh, you're going on a spree? Can I have another pretty thing, then- one that looks like it's on fire?”
“How about you come with me and buy these things yourself?”
“Sure, where are we going? Claire's?”
“You mean Macy's?”
“That's a clothing store.”
“Well, yes, but they also have bags.”
“I don't want bags.”
“You just said you wanted a gazillion of them!”
“Bracelets, geez. Not bags. Those are too expensive.”
“I said accessories! Jewelry isn't accessories!”
“It's a subdivision. Plus, you said and stuff. You never shop for bags!”
“Exactly why I need some!”
“How about we go to the mall. Then we can both get bags and jewelry.”
“Sounds good.”
“Oh, I forgot, the mall is closed because of a kid napping in the toy store. He climbed up the shelves and knocked everything over. Apparently his parents forgot him.”
“What?! How old was he?!”
“Four or five, I dunno.”
“Did they find him?!”
“Yeah, security found him before the mall closed. That was lucky.”
“What about the kidnapper?”
“Interesting way to put it, but he's safe, don't worry. His parents took him home and apologized.
”He didn't go to jail??“
”Why? All he did was knock over a few shelves.“

”Hey, there's a new post. Can you grab it?“
”What.“
”The daily post??“
”What.“
”Come on, you know what I mean.“
”Uh… Are you talking about the fence posts?“
”What do you think??“
”Okay… Here.“
”Why did you bring me a piece of wood??“
”You said the new post, but there weren't any new posts, so I just sawed out this one from our fence.“
”The newspaper. On our front porch??“
”Oh.“
”Put the fence post back into the fence!“
”Okay! Okay!“
”Then get ready. We're bringing guests over for dinner.“
”What?!?“
”Yes, your sister and her kids.“
”Like Hansel and Gretel?!“
”Don't be silly. We don't have a gingerbread house!“
”You're going to eat the kids?!“
”What?! No!! They're coming over to eat dinner with us. Have you got wax in your ears?!“
”Oh… Sorry, then…“
”No need to apologize… Just, uh, bring me some food.“
”What kind of food do you want?“
”American food.“
”We're in America. Everything here is american, because we're in America.“
”Not true. The sushi shack is Japanese.“
”Fine. You want sushi?“
”No. Takeout McDonald's.“
”Who? McDonalds?“
”Yeah. Heard that name before?“
”Uh…“
”Of course you haven. Anyway, Like go right across the street. Super close, you could probably walk there.“
”Do you still want me to get food after I ask him out? And what's his first name?“
”Ronald McDonald? Wait- What?? No- I want takeout from McDonald's. I want french fries and a burger. Just drive through!“
”Oh… Sorry…“
”It's fine. I need a new robot anyway."

“Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.“
–
Jasmine stood on the edge of the fountain, staring at the beautiful water that spilled into the quartz pool below. Friends danced around her, laughing and talking. Her friend Bethany had left her five minutes ago for her handsome date. Jasmine turned at the empty doorway, where her date should've been. She stifled a cry, but instead it came out as a laugh. Dark, at first, but then she started laughing harder, shaking her head as she stood up and laughed it off. He was a jerk. She had been fooled. That's all. She could survive. Her friend Bethany caught her eye and gestured for jasmine to join her. Jasmine laughed and embraced Bethany, and Bethany smiled and laughed with her. ”See, Jasmine? It's all so silly!“ Bethany exclaimed. Jasmine nodded and giggled. ”I can't believe I fell for him!“ The two girls moved over to a punch table, where the rest of her friends were mingling. ”Finally alive again?“ Jennifer asked, raising an eyebrow. ”Took you long enough,“ Alyssa added. Jasmine started laughing again, because, really, it was funny. She had been stood up by a guy who she'd only been on one date with! And here she had been all sad and pitiful. Then Bethany tapped her on the shoulder. ”Jasmine.“ Jasmine turned around, where her date was walking through the door with another girl wrapped around his arm. His friends greeted him and his date, laughing. She was gorgeous, with spilling blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She was tall, thin, and almost as tan as the sun itself. Jasmine started at the couple as they started to dance. ”Oh, jasmine-" tears prickled in her eyes, and she shoved past Alyssa, picked up her dress she had so carefully picked out, and ran like the wind to the hall, where she sat for the rest of the night, crying. And none of her friends came to comfort her. She was alone again.

Erupting like a volcano, etc (643 words)
—
Amy waited by the curb, shivering in her short blue dress. She gripped the beaded string of her bag and checked the time on her phone again.
“He's late…” She mumbled. The raging sounds of the party behind her intensified as someone open the door, laughing with their friends.
Amy pulled her dress strap higher and scanned the foggy black streets of New York. Even though it was far past midnight, cars raced across the roads, going somewhere special on this late Saturday night.
A small glimmer of snow whispered on her cheek, and she looked up at the mottled black sky, where white flakes were beginning to drizzle down.
Where is he? She wondered, a freezing and yet burning feeling rising in her chest. He should have been here 30 minutes ago! The cold of the winter night turned to burning hot anger in her chest. She could feel it, rising like magma from the core of the earth reaching, pulling, ready to take control. A car flew past her, flinging snowflakes from the white streets onto her blue dress.
That was it. She opened up her phone, scanning the messages she had sent in the past half hour. Where are u?? You're so late!! He left her unread.
Without thinking, tears blurring her eyes, she raised her phone above her head and threw it down onto the concrete. It shattered into a million pieces of at the case flew off, sprinkling her ankles with shards of glass. She heard a soft buzz and ran over to the crumpled phone. Across the shattered screen were faint words from her boyfriend. Before she could read them, the screen suddenly turned black, and when she tried to touch it, all she got was bl0od trickling down her hands. Angry, she picked up the pieces of her broken phone, ignoring the pain, and hurled it into the snowy streets. A car instantly ran over it. Amy let out a breath, and it curled in the air, like a soft cloud. She wrapped her blo0dy fingers in her shawl, trying to keep them from numbing in the freezing weather.
The door opened again and more people came out, laughing. Amy whipped her head around, wishing she could undo the choice through the one way door. He promised. He promised he would be there. And he betrayed her.
The laughing people were lingering. Mingling in the heat from the party inside.
Amy dipped her head down and slipped past them, back into the flashing lights.
Instantly loud music and bright lights overwhelmed her. The sudden rise in temperature caused her breath to hitch, and she tried to steady her breathing. Before someone could catch her for entering again, she ducked into the crowds, brushing the snow off her shoulders and wrapping her shawl around her neck.
She made her way to the bar, where the bartender was pouring fifteen drinks at a time, showing off by throwing glasses in the air and catching them. Girls mingling by the drinks gasped in awe as he charmingly set a cherry limeade in front of them
“May I get you anything?” he asked Amy.
She tried to say something, but her lips were numbed by the cold.
Finally she found her voice , but it was too quiet over the pounding music.
“Say that again, ma'am?”
Amy opened her purse and found a five dollar bill. She pointed to the cherry limeade the other girl was sipping.
He got the idea and slapped away the money. “Ah, I see. A mute one here we've got, huh?”
Amy nodded and looked away, and the other girls sitting at the bar laughed.
The white hot anger cooled as the soft drink chilled her throat. She let out a breath, hoping that at 3am, she would have some way to get home.

Every day's a little harder
As I feel my power grow
Don't you know there's part of me
That longs to go
Into the unknown?
Into the unknown
Into the unknown (ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah)
Oh, oh, oh
Are you out there? Do you know me?
Can you feel me? Can you show me?
–
It's more difficult to day
I will do my best to wark my strength
I don't know about my side
Pay
Unknown?
En nekonatato
Oh,
Do you have? Shearing?
Do you hear my voice? Ĉu tell me?
(Tip: Latin)

The god of the world sat upon his bright sparkling chariot, the bright bulbs lighting up his hairdressing mirror beside him sparkling as stars. The darkness of night began to beg for release. “It's so much harder to day,” the god of the world grumbled, turning on his ceiling fan and letting a vast sunbeam bask the world in sunlight. “I'm trying my best to make myself more strength. That'd be nice.” He turned to the mirror on his left. In the background sat his monkey, spearicalelle. Then he frowned. “You always have to look at my bad side,” he informed the monkey. The monkey ate another banana. Then he turned his spinny chair fully to the mirror. “Actually, I don't know. Either side is fine. I guess. I don't know my left side as well, though, since it's never in the mirror.”
The monkey squawked, and the god of the world looked down at the earth. “Ah, the little churchlings. Going to the church. To worship me. And little jimmy-” he paused, and squinted. “He's walking right past!” The monkey barked in confusion. “Yes, yes, I know,” the god of the world said. “He walked right past the money basket. I don't understand!” In response, the monkey meowed and turned into a toucan. “Pay!!” The god of the world shouted down at the earth, causing another tsunami in Japan. “*, little jimmy. Now you've killed half a million people.” The god of the world sighed. “Spearicalelle, did you change the wifi password?” He asked. The toucan pecked at a golden bottlecap. “Hey Siri, what's the wifi password??” The god of the world demanded. “You should know, you all-knowing @#$_&-,” Siri responded kindly. “The one power stronger than me is wifi, you should know that,” the god of the world argued. “Well, it's unknown at the moment,” Siri responded with a smidgen of bluntness. “Unknown?!” The god of the world echoed. Then he shouted a curse in a foreign language from somewhere in Mexico I think. Then he looked down at little jimmy again. He was carrying a fluffy sheep. He put the cute sheep on the alter and bowed to the priest. “Oh. They're killing me a sheep instead,” the god of the world realized. “But it's so cute and fluffy! Something so fluffy doesn't deserve to die. Someone needs to shear it first so its not fluffy.” He turned to spearicalelle. “Do you have shearing scissors?” The god of the world asked. Spearicalelle oinked and turned into a pigeon. “Then there will be no fluff killing in my domain,” he declared as a war raged in Ukraine. The god of the world whispered in the preist's ear and the preist handed the sheep back to little jimmy.
