Offline Scratch 3 loses the keyboard, frequently & reproducibly
My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 102.0.5005.63, No Flash version detected
Offline Scratch 3 since its inception, loses the keyboard every time you try to “load from your computer” a 2nd project (or the original project a 2nd time).
I have a number of Coding Classes where we have no Internet access and teach Scratch Coding with Laptops we bring to schools and all work is saved to USB drives (one per student). Once the students open Scratch 3 and “Load from your Computer” a project for the first time everything is fine, until a student “Loads from their Computer” a 2nd project (or the original project again - perhaps because they messed up and prefer to go back to the previous version of the project they had saved on their USB Drive), Scratch loses the keyboard every time and always. The only solution is to get the student to close Scratch (perhaps Saving their current Project to their computer first, if the want to retain the project as it as at that point), restart Scratch 3, and upload the project again. Then and only then will the keyboard be useable again.
I have been teaching this class of 14 Primary School students (aged from 8 - 11 years) for 6 months, and this problem has occurred 3-10 times every class, it is extremely frustrating for me and even more so for young children. The Laptops concerned have various versions of Scratch 3 installed on them including 3.19.2, 3.27.0 & 3.29.1 and they all have the same issue. Please fix this ASAP.

What do I mean by “it loses the keyboard?”
I mean you can't type anything in, as in you cannot type any text in, no new variable names, or custom block names, or new values to set a variable to, you can't even type in an answer to a question asked by the “ask” block. It is as if, thinking back to the days of cable-plugged-in mice and keyboards, that you had pulled out the keyboard cable.

For now, you can click the minimize button (on the top-right of the window) and then reopen the window and that should fix it until the next confirmation popup appears.

When working offline, you must always safe your project after uploading it! Only then can text for variables or similar be entered. You also have to be careful how the project is named, since Scratch simple calls it “Scratch Project”.

That also works. You can also just click outside the window and then click the window again, because when you unfocus and refocus the window, that fixes the problem. In your solution, you opened and closed a Save As popup over Scratch which unfocused and refocused Scratch, allowing you to type again. Well, that was probably confusing, but yeah. For now, you can click the minimize button (on the top-right of the window) and then reopen the window and that should fix it until the next confirmation popup appears.
