Clones as seperate category

Mockup:

The other blocks work as they normally do. The “broadcast () to clones” block also works as you'd expect. Broadcasts a message to the clones. The broadcast list is different too.

The “broadcast (example) to clone” has a easy workaround.
Make a variable, set as for this sprite only.
When flag pressed set that var to 0
When I start as a clone set that same var to 1
When i recieve “example”
If (var) = (1)
Then
Code.
End.

still don’t see the point in this entire thing in the first place

I think this would make it easier to find out where clones are, because the blocks for clones currently do not all fit in the control category. At least, that's what I think, and I like this idea.

There's only three clone blocks in Scratch, and unlike variables you can't make any more. I don't see the point in a category where the blocks are pretty easy to find already.

Yeah, I don’t think there should be a category for only 3 blocks, i dont really support

I don't think I can agree with this. (Once again, apologies if this sounds rude.)

This will break the simplicity of the Block Palette.

AS IN: You would have to go down ONE category, to find the Sensing category.

Also, you control clones, which is why I don't agree with this.

Edited to be more constructive because I was forced to edit this to be more constructive.

True. We can’t have a separate section for just three or four blocks.

Not to mention it will be confusing for most users.

There’s no point for another category just for clones. If there were more blocks for clones then I would probably agree that this is useful, but this is just unnecessary. Blocks for clones fit in the Control category.

The mockup I showed was a VERY basic mockup. I feel like someone else could make more blocks for it.

With the new block in the category, it is probably better to discuss that here so the conversation stays in 1 place.

i feel like this should only be added if clones get a massive update but I doubt that would happen any time soon

I don't see how that is relevant to my post. It would be better to discuss new clone blocks in a specific thread for a block instead of using a topic to make clones as a separate category.

Quite sorry to say that I don't see much of an use for this separate category. The current placing of the clone blocks in the control category is familar to many Scratchers.

However, as others have said, I could find myself supporting this suggestion if the clone blocks have further additions to which point they are of considerable size in the control category.

Yes, more could be added. Heres one of my ideas:
(clone count)

I support this, because there's really no point to having clone blocks in “Control”.

There's also no point in having a category with three blocks. Additionally, control blocks are generally very general purpose and important, which if you know how to use them properly, they certainly are.

Maybe even a “Delete All Clones” block. That would be quite useful, at least I think.

I think that's more of a separate suggestion; it might be clearer to open two topics, one about clones as a separate category and another offering new potential blocks?
