There are projects that say "i have your ip address!". however they are meant to be jokes. are they allowed?
they don't contain REAL IPs, but they SHOULD make the IP look obviously fake, for example: make the ip a bit longer, make it have a number that exceeds past 255. there you go, a false “ip”.
when green flag clicked
if <real ip detected? :: sensing> then
vpn [on v] :: motion
say [Your IP address is safe!] for (5) secs
end

I don't think the ST would allow that. While the possibility of the person actually getting your IP address is very low, it can create a sense of fear in the community.

If you can obviously tell it's a joke, then it would most likely be fine, I remember someone saying something like “Roses are red, violets are blue, quiet as a mouse, I am in your house” on their profile page, I made a forum topic asking if it is allowed, and everybody said yes.

yeah, it could be allowed under ONE condition: make the IP look obviously fake

Honestly, I would see inside these projects before playing them (or starting them?)
Even if it's a joke, you must check if it's a joke.
Also, before you say “But k0d3rrr, it might not be possible to find your IP address through Scratch projects”.
I don't know. I'm trying to make a guess, okay, about if these exist or not!

Seriously, although I really don’t think you can, you should till obviously make it a joke, since a majority of the scratch community probably don’t now that you can’t get your IP address through Scratch Projects.
Although it might be, I really don’t think so since unless you hacked the website or something you can’t get that data from a project.

Although it might be, I really don’t think so since unless you hacked the website or something you can’t get that data from a project.It is possible, especially if theres a link, as you could use an IP grabbing tool. I believe it’s also possible by modifying the project, but I haven’t seen it done before. The IP itself is legal to have in most places, not anything malicious done with it.
To the OP:
I believe it is allowed, just as long as its an obvious joke. IE, making saying ‘And its a xd-eight-ijkl(letters, without autocorrect, than explaining what an IP address is)’(Or something like that, an obvious joke), than making it clear, IE, in the NaC or next scene, ‘Don’t worry. I don’t really have it,’ just to be safe. On the other hand, not something like ‘your IP is (insert realistic IP address here)’ isnt allowed, or using an IP grabber and using python servers to import it to Scratch, than going through a text engine tio show their actual IP(*i haven’t seen it done on Scratch before, but i have seen trolls do things similar on other sites)
Edit: Changed fake IP address from numbers to words, ides from #9
Edit 2:*added the parentheses(probably not its spelling, but close enough)

The problem with an IP address is that most kids don't really know what it is. So, if they see a number like that, and they are told it's their “IP address,” they may be inclined to believe it. This is different from, say, their home address, because kids are more likely to know their own home address — and, furthermore, they may know what is and is not an address. (A random combination of letters like “srgs oasdpp grweu” is pretty clearly not a home address. However, a random combination of numbers like “234928061” can definitely resemble an IP address, regardless of whether someone knows what an IP address is.) To the OP:
I believe it is allowed, just as long as its an obvious joke. IE, making saying ‘And its 0000-0000-0000-0000/1234-5678-90’(Or something like that, an obvious joke)
For the reasons above, I'm tempted to believe that such a project is not allowed. If you want to showcase an “obviously” fake IP address for some reason, at least make the project considerate so that it doesn't try to trick others into believing that this “obviously” fake IP address is their real IP address.

Also, i believe i once heard there places where letters may be used in home addresses(i believe i heard something about it, however it was at least 2 years ago, and unused since)

Seems a little better, but one might not know that IP addresses don't contain letters. Some codes (like Nintendo eShop codes) have letters in them. I edited the post to better reflect it.
To avoid all these special cases and confusion, it's best just to not try to trick others that you have their IP address, even if it's “fake” or meant to be a “joke.”

It can be allowed as long as the “ip” doesn't follow the rules of what a real ip should look like. (via making the ip long, have numbers above 255, maybe have a letter in it?, etc)The problem with an IP address is that most kids don't really know what it is. In particular, with kids. I also didnt know IP;s have to have didgitds below 255 for each section/nmSeems a little better, but one might not know that IP addresses don't contain letters. I edited the post to better reflect it.

A random keysmash of numbers probably wouldn't say “Hey, I'm an IP address” to most. And even if it did, the number could resemble multiple IPs. Your example can only resemble 1 IP: 234.92.80.61. But something like 22114683 could be 221.14.68.3, 2.211.46.83, 22.114.68.3, 2.21.146.83, etc. However, a random combination of numbers like “234928061” can definitely resemble an IP address
And to answer the OP, IMO it would be fine if you stated it was a joke and/or use an IP no one will use (e.g 245.12.261.172, 222.130.110.207.209, or 192.0.2.16 (an IP reserved for documentation and examples)).

Remember, I am assuming here that many kids don't actually know what an IP address is, nor do they know what a “correct” IP address looks like. I think this is a reasonable assumption to make. To a kid who doesn't know what an IP address looks like, a random keysmash of numbers could definitely be convincing, especially in the context of making a project where you claim that you have their IP address. A random keysmash of numbers probably wouldn't say “Hey, I'm an IP address” to most.

That can make people scared, even though it’s really hard to gain IP addresses through projects, they might get removed.
