I had this idea for April fools that I think would be really funny, we all know these 3 blocks:

change [ v] effect by (25)
set [ v] effect to (0)
clear graphic effects

But, what if their effects didn't just happen on the project screen, I think you know where I'm going with this, I want it to affect the ENTIRE scratch editor, this could be really funny (and kind of annoying which is a downside). you could have the entire screen be white/black, invisible, a different color, whirly, and much more.

This is a good idea, because I wasn't on the Scratch website until late last year, so bringing this back would be fun!

Honestly, seeing how often I use these effects in my projects, I've love to see how this would affect my projects

They already have the code for it as they have already made the exact same thing.

I wouldn't mind if this was in another April Fools update but I would also prefer a joke that has not been implemented before. Also, “all the world is a stage” (what you are suggesting) was in the April Fools Day beta (or unfinished) version on Github but it was removed. Could there be a reason for this?

They could make blocks 2x bigger.

I think this could be a great idea! Maybe add some limitations though. Like, maybe a limit on the ghost effect so that you can still mavigate the page if needed, or maybe a -1000 min and 1000 max for the fisheye effect, because that one can get out of hand fast.

anyways i think the negative linit should be around -95 and -80

ooh yeah, that could be a problem now that you brought that up, maybe make it a option then? (or a elipsey warning, but that is probably a worse solution than making it togglable)

Yeah but it’s optional and if there’s an announcement or something then the ST should put a warning.

now that I though about this a little bit more, wouldn't people that have elipsey just not use the change color by_ blocks at all?

Honestly, I feel like this entire thing could be its own version of a block, as making effects like this is hard to make a transition for and I think a lot of people would like this!

I mean the entire scratch editor not j u s t the project screen, this wouldn't be a great idea to keep in scratch, that's why I'm asking this to be for april fools, also there is a simple workaround by simply making a sprite that covers the screen, setting ghost to 30-50 then changing the color as needed
