I’ve tried and tried, but i can’t put anything in the scratch backpack.

Did you do these steps?

1. Open your “Backpack” at the bottom of the code screen by clicking the word “Backpack” (if it's not already open).
   
2. Drag a script (or sprite or sound or costume) into it.
   
3. Then in your own project, drag the script out into the editor area.
   

• Which step isn't working?
  
• What exactly did or didn't happen? What did you see or not see that you expected?
  
• What did you try to move into the backpack?
  
• Can you also try putting a different kind of thing in the backpack–sprite/sound/costume and let us know if none work.
  
• What kind of computer are you using?

Hi. What happened is that when i drag the script to the backpack, it just pops out. It doesn’t work. Also I’m using an iPad with a keyboard. It doesn’t have a mouse. Is that the problem?

I can’t I’m using a school iPad, and it’s filtered. It won’t let me use the link.

The link is just to the Ocular Scratch Search site, showing a lot of people having trouble with the backpack on iPad.

Over the years… Some say they can put some assets in the backpack, but not scripts. Some can't put anything. Some can't put anything one day and another day they can. Some have said to “jiggle” a script a little over the backpack to put it in, but others have said that doesn't work for them.

If anyone else knows more, please chime in.

I have an iPad!

“Jiggling” the code over the backpack doesn't seem to work for me, but I can put costumes and sprites into it just fine.

I jiggled the script. It did not work.

There seems to be an issues with dragging the script to backpack if you're not using mouse on mobile devices.

So, just drag the entire script to the backpack or use external mouse.
