About me:
Hello there! I go by Viv ( but last session I was Lil)
a lover of music, scratch, books and nature.
I'm an INTJ but I'm like 51% introvert and 49%
extroverted (I''m serious) so I like to consider myself
the true omnivert! I go by the pronouns she/her
and am currently in the EST timezone,
however I might be traveling to the Pacific Time Zone
in July .
In my free time I like listening to music and reading The Percy Jackson
Series for the ∞th time. I also enjoy reading webtoon
(my spell check is insisting I change this into webFOOT.)
(Any unOrdinary and Space Boy fans out there?)
I also enjoy making art of random stuff.
Literally if I feel like it I'll draw a PENCIL.
I also play the violin and have been playing for
3 years. I enjoy writing long essay's on arguments
for example why cats are better then dogs etc.
I even write for sides that I know are wrong
(like Julius Cesar was a hero) even though they
weren't just for fun.
In life I tend to be very energetic and fun most
of the time..
Some of my extraculiiculars inculde Debate Club,
Scouts, Book Wars and Musicals if that counts as an
extracellular
Experience:
This July will be my second session of SWC!
My first session was March 2022 in Non-Fiction
led by, Stormi, Maia, Jia and Ollie who were awesome
<3. I wrote 30,494 words that session
and I was so happy because I've always been
a slowish writer and never really payed attention
to the number of words I'd write so 30k was a huge
accomplishment for me! Especially since my wpm
rose from 40 words to 70-80 words after camp!
Apart from SWC English has always been one of
my favorite classes despite my typing abilities and
till 2 years ago I'd always strived to be an author.
It's not my *thing* but I enjoyed communicating
to future and current authors and being able to
expand my writing abilities with workshops. (and like
actually be able to write a proper essay
I hope this session no matter what role I play will be as
remarkable.
I think all the cabins are unique and interesting
but the cabins that really stand out to me
are non-fiction and of course mythology.
I have a few idea' for those particular cabins
for example in mythology I might have the (co) leaders
word count groups be based of a certain god(ess) of mythology.
(Ex: one word count group is named Athena's Temple etc.)
I also have a few fun idea's for slightly competitve games or
competitions to motivate campers to write! These would apply to any cabin
(ex: there would be mini groups
inside the cabin and the groups would be competing
against each other for a goal or prize.)
A few other cabins I'd like to (co) lead are historical fiction, script and fantasy.
Again it doesn't matter to me which cabin
I end up with.
I'll realistically be able to come online in one of these timetables and
I'll probably stick with which is more convenient.
Timetable one:
Mon: Tues: Wed: Thu: Fri: Sat: Sun:
20mins 20mins 40mins 30mins 20mins 30mins 20mins
Timetable one will allow me to add points in my word group every
day and be able to catch up on current events and possibly add in the
main cabin, and work on other (co) leader responsibilities.
(This does not include my time working on daily's, weeklies and cabin wars.
Timetable two:
Mon: Tues: Wed: Thu: Fri: Sat: Sun:
35mins 20mins 40mins 20mins 15mins 0mins 0mins
Timetable two will allow me to do all of the things above without me updating
word counts
every day.
The advantages of this is, is timetable are that I'm already busy on
weekends and
this timetable will allow me to interact with campers more.
Other than this I'll be online hopefully every day of July, if something
comes up
I'll be sure to notify my fellow (co) leaders and the hosts.
Why do I want to be leader?
First of all I have so many great memories from
Non-Fiction. It was a really great session.
SWC introduced me to a whole new side of scratch
that I didn't know existed.
Since then I've participated in several camps
which I have also enjoyed (but not as much as SWC of course .)
To be honest I would love the experienceand all but the reasons
I want to lead are
primarily because it seems like fun and because I want to be able
to repay
the favor that SWC payed me. Being a (co) leader gives you a
extra month and
a half of SWC planning.
Second of all I want to repay the favorSWC payed me. S
WC was great for my
writing skills and learned so much in just a month.
I want to be able to help to teach other writers for
example possibly make a
workshop of my own
and be able to make campers have a memorable session.

Why would I be a good leader?
First of all I'd be very dedicated to scratch writing
camp and leading my cabin to victory or just
helping out as a leader for example adding
points in the Main Cabin or just helping make weeklies and dailies. I also
believe that i will be able to participate in events such as the memory book
cover contest and the writing competition. I have a good amount of
experience leading in person and online.
I have led in other online camps like AAC, SMC and AAC. I'm currently
leading amazing animation Island which
I'll link in the description so you can see my cabin and see how I've
organized it if you want.
I'm currently leading in Scratch Math Camp as co-leader for Ratio Ruins.
I've also participated in multiple camps online
and in-person. I am currently a volunteer in the local library and do shifts
three times a week which has given me experience working with adults
and younger kids and also has given me experience of working.
I've also babysitted sometimes in my free time over younger
kids and have learned how to get along with them and what
motivates them. If I get chosen as leader I will be respectful
and dedicated to my campers.
I have many ideas on how to make my campers experience special.
Of course these will differ depending on the cabin I end up with to suit i
ts theme.
First of all I’ll use all of the month and a half before SWC for planning,
creating the cabin and making everything organized and ready. In that
month and a half I’d try to make an icon creator so all the icons wouldn’t
have to be hand drawn and the campers could make it themselves. The
advantage of this is that me and the other (co) leaders wouldn’t have to
draw 30ish icon’s and we’d be able to use that time productively. This
would also help because last session some campers weren’t able to get
their icon’s because the (co) leader creating the icon’s was too busy.
I already have experience with making icon creators so it wouldn’t be
that hard for me .
I’d like to split the cabin into smaller groups for adding and so the
campers can get to know their (co) leaders and fellow campers better.
Another or my idea is possibly a slightly competitive simulation in which
the campers (individually or in smaller groups) would go against each
other for a prize etc. For example it’s like a mini hunger games
simulation and if you do it daily or weekly you get food or water etc.
Then at the end whoever has the most food or water wins!
Collaboration is how well you work with others.
I believe that the aspects of collaboration I’m good
at is putting effort into my part of the work and
helping others with theirs. I also tend to check up
on people and make sure that they’re also
working on their parts as gently as I can.
I’m good at sorting out arguments with my friends
and just a while ago in school I had this project
in which two of my teammates kept on arguing.
I was able to sort it out calmly and come to a
resolution without picking sides. Of course none
of us are perfect and I have my fair share of
weaknesses in collaboration to. I can get
frustrated if a member slacks off repeatedly
and doesn't try to contribute. Especially if they’re
quite transparent about it. I also get frustrated
if one group member tries to do all the work
themselves and doesn't let others contribute.
However I doubt these will be problems working
with the other Scratch Writing Camp leaders
as they're all probably going to be hardworking
and pleasant people.

Checkamarks:
I agree to all of the terms and conditions listed and will follow them as needed.
