What happens when you delete your account?

oh no why is my username still on your siggy and pfp
It basically just deleted your account and no one can access your profile and such. You can also choose to keep your projects. Your forum posts will stay I think, because I've seen a few people on the forums that if I click on their profile its just blank.

I think it go byebye, and gets go bye bye from the servers… Or maybe it just auto unshares the projects and you can still access them from forks or from the master gui.

I found this in the Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy wrote:

If you want to delete your account, login to Scratch, and then click your username in the top right-hand corner. Select “Account Settings,” then click the “I want to delete my account” link at the bottom of the page. Deleting your account hides all information from public view, but does not remove all of your information from our servers. If you want to have all of your information removed from our servers, please contact help@scratch.mit.edu for assistance.
I hope that answers some of your questions.

Usernames of deleted accounts also cannot be retaken.

When an account is deleted. the main profile page is removed, and possibly About Mes and What I’m Working Ons, but following and follower pages remain. There is an option to have projects to be kept, although comments might automatically be disabled. If the user decided not to, they will be unshared. They are likely still there, but only unshared, as for the same reason as the rejecting of retaking deleted user’s usernames, the Scratch Team might still need to refer back to the user or the projects.

Hi! This topic is rather old - when you ask for help on an old thread, people often will only respond to the original post because they don't notice yours. if you need help, you're much better off creating a new thread. Be sure to explain the problem you're having! If you have a question about a post that was made here, you can always include a link to it in your new topic. Thanks!
