The Duolingo Topic

I was only able to find two old topics for Duolingo but they were both dead, so I decided to restart it here!

Duolingo.com wrote:

Duolingo is the most popular language-learning platform and the most downloaded education app in the world, with more than 300 million users. The company’s mission is to make education free, fun, and accessible to all. Duolingo is designed to feel like a game and scientifically proven to be effective.

This topic is for discussing all things Duolingo. (What languages you're taking, how long you've been learning that language, your study methods)

You can also practice having written conversations with each other in different languages that you are learning on Duolingo if you want. You may only share Duolingo accounts if it doesn't include personal information!

To start things off:
My native language is English and I've been learning French for 1 year in school. I use Duolingo to practice my French skills and learn new vocabulary. I am also trying to learn Latin on Duolingo.

I didn't do Duolingo for about… 1-2 months.
Duolingo's gonna kill me.

I think the owl is threatening me… I lost my streak and Ring told me someone was at the front door at the exact same time but no one was there.

Ring sometimes tracks totally random movement. (I think)

My friend has a 600-something day streak on Duolingo. It's wild.

Eventually the Duolingo Bird gave up on me and stopped sending emails.

The highest I've gotten was like 17 (then spring break happened). I know one of my friends has a 180+ day streak.

My streak is DEAD and Duolingo is still sending me emails from time to time.

That doesn't explain the green owl that showed up at my house…

I forgot my Spanish lessons (to improve my Spanish since I already know a lot of Spanish) in Duolingo. Thankfully I looked at this topic and did my duo lesson. Another day to live.

but i'm still afraid.

We're in the same boat. I haven't done mine in years.
I took Spanish for about 1 month until I gave up on it, tried Japanese for a week then also quit. I haven't opened the app since and I don't think I want to. If I ever go back to using it, I'll probably take French.

This post was unrelated, so I removed it.

It's hard to learn a totally new language by just using Duolingo.

Yeah, recently I've been going through YouTube tutorials to try and learn a language but no luck so far.
