I have this problem that the images I paste have a white background. I don't want that. I remember there used to be a transparent paint option. But I don't find it in 2.0 edition. May I have some help

In teh colour palette the item on the top right with a red diagonal line is the transparent option. It works differently in bitmap and vector modes but does work.

Is it a sprite costume or a backdrop you're working one? Bitmap or vector mode?

Vector mode.

In bitmap mode you can draw a line across an image and fill it with transparency and it will work. (You may be able to just draw a transparent line.) In vector mode this doesn't work as the underlying image is still there and shows through. You may have to switch modes.

What you can have in vector mode is a shape/outline which you can fill with transparency but only if there is only one layer underneath so you may have to combine layers if you want this effect. Hope that makes sense.

If you look at this project http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/39615698/ you'll see that Scratch cat and his shadow are separate items and can be moved independently. If you select just one of them while they overlap icons will appear at the right hand side to move that layer back or forwards. If you select both Scratch and the shadow there will be an option to group them together so you can edit them as one item.

If you mean, for example, adding a link to your project in a thread like this you just cut and paste from the browser address line.

Make sure it includes the http:// at the start. I find with my version of Firefox that if I just click on the address box and cut and paste it seems to work but if I try to manually highlight and then cut and paste it doesn't and that's where the two methods can differ.

Oh… but like if you have to link someones name like @deck26

If that worked I just did a right click in the browser and selected copy link location. I then pasted here with Ctrl-V (Windows).

(I'd never done this either but thought I'd try)

OK it didn't work. Someone else must be able to help. It's probably in the options above the editing box. I'll keep looking but someone will no doubt beat me to it.
