This suggestion refers to some sort of indicator that lets you know if a user is currently online. The Scratch Team has discussed it and has decided that it is not something that can benefit Scratch as an educational platform. Between making projects, sharing projects, and viewing projects, an online indicator is not much help in these areas.

The above is not what I am suggesting. I am suggesting that there is a status you can enter a small amount of text into, like in Dee Eye Ess See Oh Are Dee. Users can enter whatever they want, from something silly, how they're feeling, what they're up to, whether they're active or not, anything. You can enter some pretty clever things in your Dee Eye Ess See Oh Are Dee status. I was thinking these could appear next to your username and profile picture on your profile, in the Curator tab in studios that you manage, and under your post count in the forums.
This is different than one's About Me or What I'm Working On. This is a little, temporary one of those, where you can put whatever you're thinking at the moment without changing the face of your profile, that follows you where you go! No, it's not necessary, no, it's not important, no, it probably won't be implemented, but it would be fun! I like this idea, and would appreciate feedback. (Especially the negative kind. That is very helpful. My guess is all of the negative feedback will be, “We don't need this.” “There's better things to do with the Scratch Team's time.”)

Sort of, I guess? The concept is pretty similar to About Me's, What I'm Working On's, and signatures, but it would be used differently. (Or the same. However the user wants to use it.)

Having the feature would be pretty fun, and also funny. I mean, you could make a status like this:

DON'T EAT MY DORITOS

And maybe it could show your mood, too:

I think there should be a character limit, maybe something like 100-150. This would prevent computers crashing.

It would have to be way shorter than the limit in About Me's. This would have to fit in some pretty tight spaces. Imagine the “Online” list in the app that starts with D.

I forgot you can say Discord in the forums. Yes, Discord statuses are what I'm talking about. Although you could put that information in your WIWO and signature, it would be convenient if you only had to do it once and it would appear in other places too.
