How many sprites can be added to a project before it starts to lag?
Apologies if this should go in the Help forum, I'm more asking about the website itself than help for a project.

I would think it depends on your computer, as well as possibly the amount of detail put into each sprite, and also possibly how many scripts and sounds and costumes you put into each one, etc.

I see. Thank you for the info, guys.
When you say detail, does that mean one imported png sprite of a plain solid green ball would be less taxing than one imported png sprite of a highly shaded green ball? Does Scratch detect when a sprite is more detailed? I would've thought they'd be treated the same as long as you weren't adding the details via code.

I don't know if this really does affect lagginess, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Ohh, I hadn't thought of that. Fair enough.
