I only have the app and I am going to get the video game soon on but I have seen a bunch of videos on it and I think I like Ares.

Gold regime wonder woman so op! works in just about any team and its just op I searched top character and regime wonder woman came up on two different webs the next would probably be batman arkham or regular. arkham origins batman starts with 2 full bars of power so combined with batgirl (or woman no idea wich) it will start with full power because batgirl gives every one on your team 1 bar of power then using the final move of arkham batman you would probably kill the first person right away.
If you can't afford golds yet I would say the silver green lantern I have him level 9 and he has 300 attack and something more of defend that a level 15 deathstroke silver so really good as well. Getting the starter pack is probably your best chance at getting him you also get a free harley something that girl that calls joker mr.j and shes insurgency harley and she is ranked first or second in most webs ps she's silver. The starter is 50k so save up.I also would recommend regime nightwing he has a 4 move combo when you swipe the scrren and takes 50% off all melee attacks.
I forgot to mention regime wonder woman's final move is unblockable and gains 50% EXTRA damage for every block attempted so extremely op.
Oh and I hope you were talking about the app because this is the app my actuall non app favourite is definitly aqua man or flash they both hit EXTREMELY fast
