Allowing Scratchers to add a reason why they are reporting a studio, comment, or profile
Hi,
While reporting is something a Scratcher least wants to do, it's something that has to be done, sometimes, when armies threaten to tear the community apart, leaders of both sides being stubborn and refusing to listen to others. Sometimes, authority is needed to curb such issues. However, a little problem with reporting is that you are not allowed to write a reason why you are reporting a comment. Sometimes something that looks small and unimportant to the ST is actually a huge problem. If we were not allowed to write reasons for reporting a comment, then it may just get shelved. I believe that allowing Scratchers to include a reason for reporting a comment, studio, profile is a important feature in helping the Scratch Team moderate this website.
I believe that this will give Scratchers a better environment to learn and play.
Thank you

The consensus from a lot of frequent forumers is that if there's an issue serious enough to require an explanation of what's going on and the context, then it's best to use Contact Us. However, I've heard that the service has a very slow turnaround, so that's far from a perfect solution either.
If the option to add a reason for reporting something is made, then it's most likely either from a selection of set reasons, like for reporting a project or have a very short character limit

If something is happening worth knowing about that is too great a chance of being ignored.

Yeah, i would support this, as it can help explian things not serious enough for contact us, but needs a explanation.

I think a list with a couple options would be best - comments, profiles, and studios generally tend to have pretty clear reasons as to why they were reported in the first place, but it would improve efficiency if the ST didn't have to figure out the reason every time.

Huge support. While you could just use contact us, it's annoying and would be much easier if you could just write a reason. It'd also help the ST because people could explain why they were reporting and the ST wouldn't have to figure it out themselves.

This is a very good and important suggestion that should be implemented soon. Suppose someone was using an image made by someone else as their profile picture without credit. Now if this was a project, you would simply link the original image and report it. But on a profile, you have to go and use Contact Us for something minor like that. The same goes for studios and comments where the reports are only understandable in context.
I am not suggesting that the menus for reporting profiles and studios be removed, just that after you pick what you are reporting, you can enter a short reason. I do not see, with those menus remaining, how this could go wrong. I see no cons.

This really needs to be implemented, it should have been in the first place.

Support, this should've been implemented in the first place. Why is isn't already a feature I'll never understand, but it needs to be added

Yes, we definitely need to add why we reported a comment/project/studio/user
