Okay, to begin with, I'm pertty sure somebody's said this, but please don't blame me.

Sometimes, just for fun, I like doing @this @to @see @what @pops @up.
And surprisingly, I've found that there are many Scratchers with this type of account., like this and that and whatnot.
Most of them have a lot of followers and don't do anything. besides, their comments are littered with @more @posts @like @this.
So, fellow Scratchers, is it time to finally regulate them? To delete silly people who just want attention and to be funny?
Please post your views about this below.

Uh, please, I would like to ask you a simple question:

Why are you being so rude to people who created accounts with stuff they worked on, I create an account that has a weird name, but you CRITICIZING what their username is is just rude.

I would like an apology for all those scratchers that have usernames like that, how would YOU like it if someone made offensive comments on your username?

Oh yeah that's right, NO SUPPORT.
Please don't be so rude..
Everyone once in a while has no username idea so why not have a username called: ThatThisAnd?

Anyway… @originalPost

Sorry, no support. The tremendous number of annoying comments on @this's profile or @that's profile are the fault of the community, not the user. Sometimes people pick the weirdest usernames - should they really be punished for them? Hey, I picked the name of my favorite stuffed animal for my username! xD

Besides, if the ST did this, sooner or later they would probably end up deleting somebody who truly cared about their account… you know the ruckus that sometimes comes up about the ST banning unfairly? If they ended up deleting random accounts due to inactivity or “bad usernames”, can you imagine the problems that might come up?

Anyway, because of those reasons, again, no support. Sorry!

@Everyone who answered

Do you think I would make an account called “this”?

Better off with your own username. Superdoggy and RPFluffy sound much better than @whatnot.

I don't believe there's a problem with this. deviantART has this kind of thing too, except the accounts are known as plz accounts which are for the purpose of using special images in comments and whatnot.

Im not sure if I should support… If they have projects, why delete? And FYI, I have heard that projects (especially complicated ones) take up more space on the server than blank accounts.

Oh, and FYI, we have a discussion about a variation of the topic.

Oh, yes, definitely! ;P a project = up to 50 megabytes of data. An account = a few hundred lines of text in the Scratch server + profile pic (which is usually nothing extra at all… most of these accounts have default Scratch cat pics anyway. the amount of space an account takes up on the server is hardly noteworthy. Considering that the server can hold 7+ million projects, I conclude that a few thousand spam accounts hardly matter.

This sounds like it would be a large amount of administrative work - and I'm not sure what the benefit would be. These names are not inappropriate. Who are they harming?

@Paddle2See
Although I agree that these usernames might be spam, one of them could be a legitimate user. And we don't want to ban them by accident.

They're all about 6 years old, I doubt they were for attention. Probably just for fun.
They're not harmful or bad, unless someone wants the username @this.

Ummm. No. He/she/it's expressing their own opinion and has a reason to.

If someone's going to make a user, they should at least be creative :\.
