Reject. The ST doesn't give a cheese curd about who supports a suggestion. They just decide if its good or not, and if it is they probably start working on it.
Sometimes it's important to know who supports a suggestion, so the st can evaluate.

Did you even read the OP? Its to ban long, unnecessary lists of supporters, not counts. The owner of the suggestion has the overall right to decide if this is allowed. Outlawing it would mean no one has any idea how many people support a suggestion.Reject.
Sometimes it's important to know who supports a suggestion, so the st can evaluate.
But here is the thing. Who cares about who supports the suggestion? It doesn't matter because it all depends on the benefits of the suggestion.

I would agree with semi-supports and no supports, but some people want to know who would support a topic.Still, it's ultimately up to the suggested, and you can't just punish someone for adding this list as it won't take away from the conversation either.
It's unnecessary though. We don't need to know every person who supports it
And we don't need to know who doesn't support it
or semi-supports it
Why do you need that? Why do you need to keep every person's username on a list?

In general, people putting other’s names on a list is a bit concerning to some, so that’s a thing.

But you never stated why. There really is no reason to keep supporter lists. It really is unnecessary to put a person's name on a list because it doesn't matter who supports it, as I stated earlier.
I want 5 reasons why supporter lists should stay.

I want 5 reasons why supporter lists should stay.
1. If the user doesn’t support, they can try to change the minds of the people who do support.
2. It’s beneficial to see how much support a topic is getting versus how many posts are on it.
3. It adds extra body to the post, making it seem more professional.
4. If you include why the person supports it in the OP, that’s less reading for people who are posting on the topic.
5. It shows that the person who created the topic is engaged with people’s opinions and active on it.

4. If you include why the person supports it in the OP, that’s less reading for people who are posting on the topic.
5. It shows that the person who created the topic is engaged with people’s opinions and act on it.
Alright, let me try to object to these.
1. How would they do that? Go to every person's profile and comment “hey you know that suggestion you supported? The one about the (INSERT SUGGESTION HERE). I want to state some things that would change your mind”.
2. Yeah but do you have to really put every single person's name on a list to show how many supporters instead of saying [24 Supporters!] because as I said, it really doesn't matter who supports the suggestion. We don't need to know that AIGamesDeveloper supports the suggestion or Nezon supports the suggestion or RL1123 supports it. We don't need to know that
3. How would it make it look more professional? If adding more body to a post makes it seem more professional, then I can just repeat the same main point over and over again. And this would make it look more professional? How would repeating something over and over make it look more professional. ( I repeated the same thing but with different wording to make it look p r o f e s s i o n a l.)
4. Ok you have a point there. Less searching and less time wasted. You can just get straight to the point which is good for people who are in a rush, but can't you just make pros and cons list and just edit it as people say the reasons why they support or don't support it? It's not as spammy as a supporter list because it is actually constructive and it states the benefits and the drawbacks of a suggestion, without naming people.
5. So it just might be my stupid full brain who is confused. How will a supporter list make the creator of the topic engaged with people's opinions? All you are doing is adding a name to a supporter list…
I didn't sleep well. Brain doesn't function correctly (like my html)
Please object my objections if you must so my brain can understand what you mean

1. Yeah, that’s exactly what you would do.
2. You know, adding the actually username would be better because it gives more proof. You can say there’s 24 supporters, but who’s going to believe you?
3. It looks more professional because it looks like people actually support your suggestion…
4. I don’t really need to reply to this.
5. It shows that the person is actually paying attention to and acknowledging the people who support and don’t support the suggestion.

Sounds interesting - however I think it would be important to ensure this policy isn't retroactive, and if implemented takes place and can only be acted upon posts after it.
Removing such from old posts would be a long, time-wasting process - and most old suggestions don't see much action anyways.

Yeah, it annoys me when I see supporter lists.
We don't need to know who supports and no supports, we can just scroll down and find these comments!!

In other words, support.

They aren't really necessary, but I don't think they should count as spam. I'm pretty sure any storage problems they cause are negligible, and they don't really cause any other problems.
