Reopen “Don’t ban fun!”

This is the topic. Here’s the post that was made before it was taken down:

I don't think an activity that is severely disruptive can be counted as fun.

I also don't think it's appropriate to justify being severely disruptive on April Fool's Day just because you were helping others on the forums (that's kind of a shallow reason to be helping others anyway).

I also think you can still find fun using studios and projects for April Fool's Day.
That’s cheddargirl’s opinion, not the whole Scratch Team’s. In fact, Paddle2See recently said that they haven’t made a decision. For this reason, I think the topic should be reopened for the time being.

Reminder: Please don't make posts for the ST to reconsider a rejected suggestion if it doesn't offer a solution to why it was rejected.

Would it count as a rejected suggestion if it’s not something that the Scratch Team has decided on?

How is this a rejected suggestion? It's definitely not an off-topic/miscellaneous forum:

9.3 Off-topic or miscellaneous section on the forums
This forum would have been used for posting about anything that was not necessarily related to Scratch. There actually used to be a forum topic like this, but it was difficult to moderate, and so it was shut down and replaced by the “Things I'm Making and Creating” and the “Things I'm Reading and Playing” forums (which do not completely allow off-topic posts).
And it's definitely not… Wait, that's it? That's the only rejected suggestion related to that?

If you could just close any suggestion you didn't like, then there would be practically no suggestions left. It shouldn't be like that, even for the scratch team.

It rejected because cheddargirl closed it and rejected it.

The Scratch Team did decide it, Paddle said “We will have a meeting”, and then a couple days later, they rejected it.

The sticky is ran by Za-Chary, who used to be on the ST, but isn't anymore, so he probably hasn't been told to update it yet

However, Cheddargirl did not specify that the reason she closed the topic was due to a meeting. She may have just closed it because she disagreed with it.

As mybearworld pointed out in The Forum Helpers (if I didn’t misunderstand their comment), she said “I”, not “we”.
That indicates that a final decision hasn't been made yet.

I think the previous thread has outlived its useful life. We understand your frustration and want to be sure everyone can have fun on April Fools, but the whole forum moderation team agrees that previous years were much too spammy. That includes me and Paddle2See. We're still discussing what we think an optimal solution might be and will update you as soon as we can. In the meantime, I'd like to ask that you not come to us individually trying to get a ruling from us. While you're allowed to ask us to reconsider things, we make decisions as a team and its disrespectful to try to pit us against each other. We'll let you know when we've decided on a suitable arrangement.

If you want to discuss what is and is not suitable for AF activities on the forums, this topic would be a good place to look instead. Just please remember to stay on-topic.
