How do I export as a .swf file
You can't - not yet. And Scratch is not compatible with Newgrounds.
You can embed it in places by clicking the share to link underneath each project.

I don't see much of a need of exporting to SWF.

How do I export as a .swf file
well, allowing an export to swf would make it a lot easier to display projects on our own websites. Let's get these project out there on the Web! HTML5 compatible output would be great too, but if Flash swf is available now, why not let the users export to swf?

Thanks for your reply AgentRoop, but I believe that information in the link you provided is deprecated now. In other words, those methods will not work with Scratch 2.0.

How do I export as a .swf file
I'd really like to be able to export .swf files. Is this being considered at all by the scratch team?

How do I export as a .swf file
I'm trying to figure out how to get our scratch programs to run under Ubuntu as executables. We prefer to limit access to the internet for our young users, but we also want to encourage them to code their own programs. The website sharing is great, but we don't like encouraging our users to create personal accounts online.

…Not yet! Does that mean that there will be a way of converting them eventually?

How do I export as a .swf file
I think you should be able to export to SWF as it would allow you to make your projects look much more professional on other sites or as their own apps. It could work very well.

How do I export as a .swf file
scratch really should let you export as .swf because you can also play it offline and even on some devices e.g. kindle fire, psp etc. btw, .swf games are perfectly legal. just download then open in web browser (no mods)

It would be great if there was a pure HTML5 player. The embed tag is including a SWF requiring the Flash player.
If you have a pure HTML5 player it could be wrapped in a WebView or Chromium to play accelerated on Android.

How do I export as a .swf file
Yeah, .swf export isnt really possible. Even though scratch is made with flash, its not writing flash code, its writing Scratch code.

How do I export as a .swf file
Actually a scratch project is a composition of png/svg images and a json file that holds all the project data. If there was a external program that could interpret the json file, essencially it could compile a new swf file using the data. But it would work completely differently. Yeah, .swf export isnt really possible. Even though scratch is made with flash, its not writing flash code, its writing Scratch code.

How do I export as a .swf file
Just so you guys know, it's possible. I've done it. If you can figure out how to email me without getting in trouble I'd be glad to send it to you. Otherwise, I'm making a website to host it
