I heard elementary OS is beta testing Pi 4 support, and I guess it looks similar to Mac OS by default. I thought you can turn any distro into something which looks like macOS (it's based on Linux after all and you can use any desktop environment) so would it matter?

I like Zorin OS, the UI's really smooth and customisable and it's really easy to find apps and features as well as installing new ones. There is however a bug that causes the terminal to crash every time you open it if you associate python3 with a later python version than 3.8.

You can quite easily fix it, I think you just need to install a few libraries or if that doesn't work use python rather than python3. It get quite annoying if you have python 2 installed though,

honestly, thats a bit bloated. Debian probably works better + its more stable (try debian 12 bookworm, it shouldn't be that unstable)
if you want to use the white sur theme you should use XFCE, Gnome, Cinnamon desktop environment
EDIT: debian might get a bit confusing. i recommend raspberry pi os, it works out of the box too

It all depends what you're looking for!

For Beginners:
- Linux Mint
- Pop!_OS
Both are Debian/Ubuntu based, so they're pretty straightforward. Ubuntu isn't a bad place to start either, and has many flavors that come with different Desktop Environments. I personally like KDE, and themes like WhiteSur look really great on it, especially when you use things like the Latte Dock.

For Intermediate Users:
- Fedora
- OpenSUSE
- Manjaro
All of these are really great distros, and you theoretically could use them as a beginner, though I find starting with a Debian/Ubuntu based distro is the easiest. OpenSUSE comes in two variants, Leap and Tumbleweed. Leap is like Fedora, Ubuntu, and Debian in that it has a release cycle, meaning that every so many months, there is a new release that comes with updates to a lot of system packages. Tumbleweed on the other hand, is like Manjaro and other Arch based distros, in that it is rolling-release, meaning that you'll get updates to packages almost right after they're released, and you won't ever have any major system updates. Both have their pros and cons, which you should explore to find which is best for you. I personally prefer rolling-release, as it's more cutting edge, and far more up-to-date, though I strongly recommend you make plenty of backups with rolling-release distros, which some I know do automatically. Whichever you prefer will cut down your options a lot.

For Experienced/Advanced Users:
- Arch
Manjaro can be described as “Arch on easy mode,” with an easy, graphical install utility, and basically everything you need out of the box. Arch is basically a blank slate, with you having to configure practically everything.

There is no answer to that question. It's like asking what the best apple juice brand is, it's completely subjective.

But if you have a Raspberry Pi, just use the preinstalled distro.

Only armhf distros work on the RPi, so you can't install Zorin OS.

lol, are you sure elementary OS isn't just a macos x copy in disguise?

I usually use Windows at home and ChromeOS for school but I used to use Linux to bypass school restrictions but at my new school they blocked it (sadly)
