Requesting Projects to be Added to Studios
I did a quick search if this topic existed already, but nothing came up. Please let me know if you find an older topic suggesting this though.
My Suggestion
Currently, in studios, you can get your project added in three different ways. You can post a link in the comments so a curator can add it, add the project yourself if you are a curator, or if the studio allows everyone to add projects, you can simply add it. In most studios, only curators can add projects, and if someone doesn't want to be a studio curator, they have to post their project link in the comments and wait for a curator to add it. However, this can be time-consuming if the curators aren't paying attention to the studio activity, as they don't get a direct message when someone comments in the studio. My solution is to add an optional button that allows people to directly request for their project to be added.
How It Will Work
There will be an on/off option for a “Request Project to be Added” button to be available in studios. Studio managers and hosts will have the option to turn it on/off. By default, it will be turned on. When users click this button, the same screen for adding projects will appear, meaning they can paste a link, or select their projects, their favorite projects, or their recently viewed projects. Note that they can only request one project to be added at a time, and there will be a five-minute cooldown before they can request any more projects. Also, projects already in the studio can't be requested and will instead show an error message:
Edit 2/20/22: I'm not sure whether to make the cooldown last 5 minutes, or to be the same as the forums. Having to wait 5 minutes may be annoying to some, but is effective against spammers. New Scratchers probably should also have a longer wait time between requests.
After a user requests a project to be added, all curators in the studio will receive a message saying:
Edit 3/20/22: If a curator added a project, the message would disappear from the other curators' messages.
There could also be a separate tab for the requested projects, as someone pointed out, that would only be available for the curators.
New Scratchers may have to wait longer between requests, as part of their other restrictions.
Reasons to Add it
Problems with this feature and possible solutions
Please offer constructive feedback and not just say “Support” or “No Support”. Offer suggestions to improve flaws. Remember, this isn't a ballot box.

This project is already in the studioOr if the project has already been requested:
This project has already been requested to be added to the studio. This also applies to people trying to request projects requested by other people. However, if the request goes 24 hours without being accepted, the request expires or times out, and the project can be re-requested. Note that the message would disappear from the curators' messages if the request times out.
User has requested for the project Project to be added to the studio Studio. Click here to accept it.After clicking “here”, the curator will be brought to the studio, and a screen with the project thumbnail and name will be shown, along with the text:
User has requested for this project to be added.and an “Accept” button. After clicking the button, the project will be added. (This screen can be closed in case they don't want the project to be added.) A message will be sent to the creator saying:
Your requested project was added to studio Studio. There won't be a denial message, to prevent people from getting angry that their project wasn't added. If the project already got added, the message:
This project is already in the studiowill show.
Edit 3/20/22: If a curator added a project, the message would disappear from the other curators' messages.
There could also be a separate tab for the requested projects, as someone pointed out, that would only be available for the curators.

Reasons to Add it
- It makes adding projects to studios much faster then posting comments or having to be a curator of the studio, because the message is directly sent to the curator.
- The studio comments will be less cluttered with requests to add projects. This saves space for thoughtful discussion about the studio itself.
- Adding projects to the SDS, featured studios, and the studio for proposing projects to be featured will be easier.
- The 5-minute cooldown and the 24 hour wait time do not allow users to spam request that easily.
Problems with this feature and possible solutions
- Users can “mass-request” projects to be added, meaning using multiple accounts to request many projects to be added. This could cause some problems, as they easily get around the spam cooldowns. To fix this, managers will have the option to turn project requesting on/off.
- Curators of popular studios such as the SDS and featured studios may get flooded with project requesting messages. They could have an option to filter out these messages if they could be potentially be annoyed by them. Once again, there would be the option to turn off project requesting, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
- If all managers are inactive, who can turn off the option? Perhaps the Scratch Team will have the option to turn it off, and curators can ask for them to turn them off through Contact Us if people are spamming requests, although this would take time.
Please offer constructive feedback and not just say “Support” or “No Support”. Offer suggestions to improve flaws. Remember, this isn't a ballot box.

This would be a great addition to studios. However, you can probably use the comments section in the same way. I bet if this was added there would a lot of issues with spam requesting, maybe add a cooldown.

Maybe the cooldown should be the same one used in the forums (Probably even longer than the forum cooldown?)

Maybe the cooldown should be the same one used in the forums (Probably even longer than the forum cooldown?)I am suggesting maybe 5 minutes, although 60 seconds may be fine too. Having to wait 5 minutes may seem annoying if you have to add many projects at once, but it's more effective against spammers.

I think it is a good idea to have some sort of system for suggestions. Most of the time they just clog up the comments. However I'm not sure about curators getting notifications every time, it will definitely get annoying and we already have so many debates regarding studio activity notifications.
Maybe there can be a separate tab on studios (next to “projects” probably) that only curators can see, where they see a list of all the links. From there they could accept the projects. Activity on this tab would also trigger studio activity notifications for curators.
We'd also need to make suggestions in the comments reportable or something, otherwise people will keep spamming anyways. Not sure if this would work.

Semi-Support! It will be a great addition to studios instead of curators opening studios all the time! Why I semi-support is the SDS and ScratchCat* Studios. There they decide to be curators by how feedback they give and if they are good then they get invited. But they'll turn it off and ask to post in comments?

Partial support. It will prevent studio comment sections from getting clogged up, but I feel like the message thing could get annoying. Maybe they could just receive a normal studio activity message, and there could be a curator-only ‘Add Requests’ tab that they could check and use to add requests to the studio?

Alright, but consider this:
CuratorA and CuratorB both recieve a message for a request for ProjectA to be added to the studio. CuratorA is active at the time and adds that project. CuratorB is currently not on the website. Would CuratorB still receive the request message?

This seems like a good idea, since just asking in comments can be ignored or forgotten.

I will add that to the original post.

Alright, but consider this:The message would disappear from Curator B's messages, as the first curator already added the project.
