Better Community Guidelines
The community guidelines (cg) of scratch are very vague. Things like “scratchers are respectful” don't tell me much about whats allowed and whats not. I think the scratch team (st) should make the guidelines more clear like what constitutes being “respectful” and what doesn't. This would also help with the problem of people being banned controversially since the cg would be clear.
Also, the cg doesn't say everything that's not allowed. The st banns people for things that were never mentioned in the community guidelines. Adding more to the cg would greatly help with regulation in scratch, keeping it finite and precise.
If you are an st member, please consider adding strong clarity to the cg. Thanks!!! -Gato_Amigo111
Please no arguing on this forum about bans, we don't want this shut down.

I would have to agree here. I've gotten notifications from the ST about making comments that ‘Don’t Follow the Community Guidelines' and I read the comment over, and look at the Community Guidelines and there's nothing that specifically says you can't do what I did(I'm not saying what it was about though).
I think the Community Guidelines needs to be more specific to what's allowed and what's not. It would help us all understand better as to what exactly isn't allowed.

When commenting on a project, remember to say something you like about it, offer suggestions, and be kind, not critical.WHY do they have to be mutually exclusive?

The community guidelines are too vague and that creates a large amount of controversy in the community. The community guidelines (cg) of scratch are very vague. …The st banns people for things that were never mentioned in the community guidelines. Adding more to the cg would greatly help with regulation in scratch, keeping it finite and precise.Even though this iTopic on what is reportable is very old it’s very specific. https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/20887/?page=1 And it has links to other references.
It’s very long and actually it should be longer, but it is not being maintained.
However, it’s already too long for anyone to believe that a new scratcher (or any scratcher) is going to read through it and therefore I don’t believe adding anymore to the community guidelines would help anyone. But what might help if their alerts provided more references to what they mean instead of just flatly stating that all answers can be found in the community guidelines.

Everyone on Scratch is learningAre you so sure about that? There's accounts on Scratch made for hanging out with friends, RP's, etc. Not everyone is learning how to code. Sure the majority is, but not everyone.
…As long as you provide credit to everyone whose work you used and make a meaningful changeWhat does that mean? ‘Meaningful change’ could use to be elaborated more.

The scratch team may have a different definition of whats acceptable than scratchers. Actually having set-in-stone requirements would allow everyone to be on the same page. You definetly don't get taught about that.Exactly define “friendly” and “appropriate.” Give me a list of everything that's not appropriat for scratch at 100% clarity.Support!
