But then he spotted a young she-cat, in front of the dog, wild-eyed and clearly to frightened to move. ‘A challenge that is perfect!’ He smiled to himself at his mutterings. He leaped out in front of the dog, and yelled to the she-cat, “Run!” and “Tell the others I'm defeating this dog and saving your life!” The she-cat frowned, “You silly furball. Don't you realise? This'll just get you seriously hurt, or worse.” Chickenpaw sighed, “If it gives me my warrior name, I'd do it.” The she-cat reluctantly turned, paused, and fled. ‘Whew’ Chickenpaw said, panting as he was chased my the dog. ‘I hope the clan gets here soon.’ At that moment he heard the cry of his mentor, being attacked by another dog, who must've come out of the twoleg den. Chickenpaw raced towards him and leaped onto the dog, giving it the bite it would always remember. It yelped and ran away, followed by the other. After padding to the clan dens, Truestar made Chickenpaw a warrior for his bravery and quick-thinking that saved his mentor's life. She also told him that being boastful and wanting to have trouble just for warriorhood was silly. He was, though, rewarded with extra fresh kill and the knowledge of what a warrior truly means.
