and then i got muted for 5 minutes saying that ¨text art is not allowed on the site¨. why is text art banned from use on the site?

Text art is usually used for chain spam in comments, so it's usually not allowed. I don't think it's banned, though.

In addition, this text art (AKA ASCII art) can be used to convey inappropriate messages and images. The filter cannot detect if the text spells out an inappropriate word, so it just bans the entire thing.

While that is true, too much of it on one page could slow a computer down, especially one page. Plus,

That's another big reason it's blocked. Maybe just type it normally.
