THIS IS A VERY “IMPORTANT” QUESTION were you in a lego store when you filmed this? I saw legos in the background, the pick-a-brick section.

Nice, I do see a problem with this though. A lot of scratchers are in schools, so they can't browse YouTube. Why not use HTML5 Video?

Just some sample code for HTML5 Video:

<video width=“1080” height=“1920” controls>
<source src=“My video.mp4” type=“video/mp4”>
</video>

HTML5 Works in every browser, and many formats.

With that, anyone can watch the video updates straight from the scratch website.

Just a idea

Sounds awesome. I'm not sure it sounds too good, but I'll suggest it anyway. “Scratched”, because the video is about things that have been done in Scratch (whether it be projects or a new update), (hence the past tense), and because it sounds a little more interesting than "Scratch ".

I think they have lots of Lego in their office, it says on the Jobs page:

  • We’re a diverse group of educators, designers, and developers, who work together in a playful, creative environment full of LEGO bricks, craft materials, and maker tools. We strongly value diversity, collaboration, and respect in the workplace.

It's even cooler than that…. We were sitting in our research lab's LEGO play area. It has two couches, a TV, and bunch of LEGOs :] Perhaps we can take some photos of the Scratch offices for the next video update!

Thanks for the suggestion! We're definitely thinking about the best way to host these videos in the future!

I support this idea! A lot of schools in the UK have filters that block YouTube and embedded videos, so it would be a shame for some scratchers to miss out, especially if they don't have internet access at home. It would also be great if you could mention who the latest curator is, etc.

Oh, and EH7meow's idea of “Scratched” sounds awesome; it's the right sort of name for a video diary/info update.

Cool! I like the idea - it's a great way of getting messages across to the community.

For a name, I would suggest something like: Scratch in 4 Minutes, 2 Weeks of Scratch, or even just Scratch: the week's roundup.

In my opinion, it'll be best with a simple name.

It's basically the coolest room ever.

Name suggestions:
Scratch On!
the Scratch watercooler
What's Happening (like the section on the front page)
the State of the Scratch (like the state of the union address)

Can't wait to see more of these!
