Cave Battle collab

currently this is a collab between UnderBros64 and Locomule only
we are not accepting new members

I was planning on keeping this game fairly simple, a side scroller into a never ending cave/dungeon that gets progressively more difficult as the player becomes stronger and obtains new weapons and powerups. I have a lot coded but still need to add some basic stuff like numbers for the score and depth displays, health for the player and enemies, etc.

You said you were interested in doing graphics, do you have any ideas so far? I have no issue with changing pretty much anything that's been done so far. It might be nice to craft a simple story or plot, as in why the player is on this quest, what their goal is, etc. Is there any area of graphics that you prefer to create like backgrounds, sprites, animations, etc?

I'll start a list soon of some ideas I've had as far as adding new enemies and stuff. Please share any ideas you have!

I was thinking of making the Main Character being a Bat, since it's set in a Cave. I'm suggesting that this Game should be a Metroidvania type of game, I think it would fit well

Cave Battle collab

Metroidvania's are a little bit more complicated than this game as it is just a side scroller that only scrolls to the right. Not that we aren't gonna add cool features. I like the bat idea but rather than make the player a bat all the time we can have an enemy that bites the character and turns them into a bat for a few seconds that can fly but can't attack. What would be cool would be to make an area with lava floor and platforms so a smart player gets bit and then just flies across.

My idea is that the player is on a quest that carries them through different areas with unique looks. Like maybe the player starts out on flat land, then fights their way through a castle, then enters a dungeon and finally reaches the cave or something like that. So they need to be looking for something. rescuing someone, defeating a powerful enemy, etc. So I guess we need to come up with a game story, even if it is just a basic one and use that to plan out the areas in order which we can use to start planning enemies.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to talk for awhile, But I like your Ideas for this. What I'm not really into is the Bat Idea, It's not bad but I think I would just want to remove The Bite will make Enemies into Bats but I'm pretty Kool with the Rest of it, With the whole Bat Transformation thing
