how to get high resolution images

I've seen projects with costumes that are exceptional resolution, but when I upload images they are at a very low quality. how do I get a high quality image?

Either those costumes are hand made, or they are vector graphics. Vector graphics, no matter the zoom, will never start to look pixelated. Meanwhile, hand-made costumes avoid the squeezing Scratch has to do to import images (to make them below 481x361), and so they appear high-resolution. I also like to make hand-made graphics; it can be fun at times. ;)

Or one can make a high-resolution bitmap image, use an external vector editor and import it, and then import that .svg image into Scratch for a bitmap quality, but high-resolution, backdrop or costume.

ErnieParke means you that you drew the costume in Scratch using Scratch's drawing tools.

You can split the image in to smaller images ( if importing an image you have to do this ) or put it in vector.

To import large images into scratch, I convert them to vector with Inkscape. That allows them to be imported while still exceeding stage bounds. I also use a hack with a normal sized costume to make the vectors able to zoom.

I found a site that converts bitmap into vector:
http://vectormagic.com/
Does that help?

Try making a new topic to ask this - you'll find that it's more likely people will actually see your question and be able to answer it. This thread is quite old. Thanks!
