Down With Tinypic!

This site has become a disgrace! The ads are horrible, and new suspicious sites open in new tabs all the time. This site needs taken off Scratch's allowed list.

But it's one of the only sites that don't require a registration.

Yep. I hate tinypic but I'm forced to use it as it's the only image host that doesn't require registration, and I doubt the ST is going to whitelist aputurk.tk

Basically, no support. Since tinypic is the best image host that is whitelisted right now, I don't think it should be removed.

Speaking of that, ST, if you're reading this, can you possibly whitelist aputurk.tk? I would love to use my own site for image hosting. Also at the very least, whitelist Gyazo and lightshot please.

Imgur…. not that the scratch team will listen though because one time someone mentioned that imgur might have bad content on it, and it doesn't matter that tinypic is worse now. Imageshack, one of scratch's other allowed picture hosting sites, is even worse than tinypic.

tinypic has these ads that whenever I try to upload something it asks me to type a security code… I have to watch a beer ad to get it. And the security code is most commonly “drink responsibly”. Also, tinypic's “spambot protecting services” (making me watch beer ads) once was blocked by my safesearch setting. ._.

I use AdBlock+, but some users may be more vulnerable to mal-advertising attacks. Here is an example:
Clicking this…

takes me to…

…this site offering up potential malware, or at least a tracking PUP.
Is it appropriate to force innocent Scratchers into uploading images to a site that shows potential mal-adverts? No. Has anyone even considered tinypic's privacy policy? Who knows what sort of cookies they place on our devices? Almost every image on the forums is hosted with them! I only use it because I'm not signing up to stuff. I honestly think the ST should stop supporting tinypic and endorse a Scratcher made site that does not use any bad advertising techniques; or any ads at all, however hosting is not free these days. (Maybe could make some kind of deal with that Scratcher? ) Tinypic's next tactic could be placing advertising watermarks over images if you don't get an account! Oh; I forgot, support!

Support! Down with tinypic - I hate advertisements! The site has become an advertising MONSTER. They might even go to the length where they show ads inappropriate for children - as one person said, they did show a pro-alcoholism ad. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. DOWN WITH TINYPIC!

This is exactly what I was thinking :O Though it would be a bit sad: Tinypic is the only image hosting service I know of that has image hosting where you don't need an account.

Imgur
Yep. Imgur doesn't need an account, but it's not on the whitelist.

Yeah, do Imgur instead. I have a screenshot manager that has a one-click upload to Imgur, and it would be convenient if Scratch supported it. (Why wouldn't it? It's way better…)

thisandagain pls explain

The only reason Imgur isn't allowed is because inappropriate pictures are allowed there.

…maybe the homepage doesn't display them? I seriously consider removing tinypic.

Technically, I don't think you can even see what other people host…?

Agreed!

The first time I visited Tinypic, it suggested to me a “PC Cleaner” product…

I have not visited a second time.

I suggest, for now, using projects to display pictures on the forums.
