-sadly, one of my calico critters was jealous and took the images away.-

WHY ARE ALL CALICO CRITTERS SO CUTEE!

I didn't even notice their thumbs changed until someone else mentioned it, I have a puppy family with their thumbs out, but the rest have their thumbs molded to the rest of the hand, keeping them from holding anything.

My guess is that the thumbs broke a lot on the older critters, but taking them away keeps them from holding anything, so I can see the frustration.
Although I do think it'd be more frustrating for the thumbs to break.

I have all of one family with the thumbs, what about you?

Yeah, so that means they're probably at least a few years old, and they can pick up any of the utensils included with the sets.
