Where can I learn about squeak?

I noticed that Scratch 1.4 is based off of squeak, I want a modify it, but them it didn't look easy. where can i learn about squeak?

There's documentation on the front page of the website going into Squeak's internals and functions (Squeak 5.3 Edition is the most up-to-date.)

Generally what you should know is that Squeak/Smalltalk's interface is handled very differently compared to other programming languages (using Morphic as the graphic framework and UI), and the syntax is very unique and designed to read like natural language. I believe it's also event-based in some form but I'm not 100% on that since it's been a while. Squeak also treats everything as an object, including classes.

Squeak is obscure so besides what's on the website, documentation can be hard to come by.
