What`s a RP?

RP stands for “Roleplay”. A RP is where you have fun, making a story with comments with other scratchers. EXAMPLE: Someone replied “Ella walks into the coffee shop” then you reply “Liz sees her and is surprised her friend ran into her”

How do i start a RP?

If you wanna make an open RP for anyone, just start with “ORP))”. It stands for “Open Roleplay”. If you wanna RP with yourself, say “CRP))” before you roleplay. That way, people know you wanna RP with yourself. If you wanna privately RP, say “ORP w/ (Insert username here)))”. Putting “@” before the username is optional.

What happens if the comment thread reaches the limit?

First, comment “CON w/ (Insert username here)))”. Again, the “@” is optional. Then, you go to the user(s) your RPing with`s profile or a project they shared and say “New thread in (Insert RP name here)”. Or, go to the same studio your RPing with and go to a random comment the user(s) said and reply “Look at the top of the comments”.

How do i end a RP?

On your reply, go say “((End RP?”. You put a ? because you have to make sure if the person agrees to end it. If they say “No”, continue RPing then ask later. If they say “Yes”, the RP is officially over.

How do i speak outside of RP?

Just start off with a text and end it with )). EXAMPLE: LOL)). If you wanna do it at the end of the comments, go ((. EXAMPLE: ((XD I really like how Liz spilled her coffee.

How do i join a RP?

First go to a RP studio and fill out a bio. Sometimes, they call it “Sign-ups”. Wait until someone replies “Accepted”. If no-one is replying, then someone can`t see it. Check the studio and if you find a bunch of comments hiding your bio, scroll down until you find your bio and copy it. Then paste it at the top of the comments. And wait. If there is something wrong with your bio, someone will tell you so you can fix it like: “Sorry but Riley is a taken name” or “Sorry but leader is taken”.

How do i know the quest/what is going on?

Almost every single RP has this thing called “Storyline”. It tells like: How did you end up going away to a certain school or how you received a certain power, or something like that

How do i RP?

That is the main thing of the guide. When you start a RP, say what your character is doing first. Someone will reply of what their character is doing. Never control someone else`s character. Only control yours. here is an example of what would happen when someone controls a character that isn`t theirs: “Ella gets mad and Liz and then Liz runs away from Ella”. It can cause an argument instead of a fun RP. If your using multiple characters you made, specify which one is doing which. Here is what happens if you do that: “They open the door”. Then the person your RPing with asks “Who opened the door?”. Instead, say something like “Liz opens the door”. You keep going on until the comments reached the limit.

How do i make a RP?

That`s the fun bit!
First, come up with a title.
Second (Optional), make a cover.
Third (Optional too), make a storyline.
Fourth, make a list of the rules, otherwise, a RP that is supposed to take place in caveman times will have something like computers, robots, etc, in your RP.
Fifth, add a bio. So there is full information about your character.
Sixth, make a storage category so people don`t accidently come up with taken names and stuff like that.

ST arent looking for guides rn, and this would probably work better in project form, as not to many people go to the suggestions forums for tips about rping, also even if ST was accepting guides, rping isnt directly related to scratch and not its main purpose

Sorry, but I don't think this is a good fit for the Suggestions forum. While we do have guides in the forums, in recent years we've taken a much more conservative stance against them, as we already have a lot and adding more tends to add clutter and duplicated effort. It's just not the best use for the forums. Instead, I'd encourage you to make a project or studio going over some of these points.
