if it was up to the GIMP devs, it would be closed source by now, just like paint.net, because sad ppl who just are looking for a money grab download the installer and change a bit of the stuff and publish to the MS Store.(#538)Fortunately reviewers are calling them out.
just realised that theres a paid version of gimp on the Micro$oft store - im crying rn
official site - https://www.gimp.org/downloads/
m$ store - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/gimp-image-editor-pro/9n17cr1nhff7

Good grief. Please stop with the personal attacks, derisive comments and generalizations. If this topic becomes another heated OS debate then it's going to stay closed next time.
To be clear: Bringing up challenges you have had while using or attempting to switch to a Linux distribution, and discussing solutions? Totally cool - that's healthy, valuable conversation. However, dismissing others' problems, looking down your nose at other users with legitimate use cases for not using the Correct OS, or commenting just to start a fight about an OS you're not actually interested in is not a good use of this space.

Oh Nose!I failed to compile Maui so I have to wait for RPMs Oh no, GNOME has got some competition…
I'm looking at you System76 and Maui Shell developers.
Wait, what if System76 made their own linux smartphone?

Hmm take a look at galliumOSYeah, I think my parents bought it for cheap from the school under probably a contract or something. idk how it works. Probably standard, but I think it's fully ours after how many years.oh, oh that's worse. and your paying for it are you not? They come pre-installed with a restricted version of ChromeOS that the school has complete control over.I didn't ask for a Chromebook. My school gives them to us. (Well I think we buy them cheap through the school). And they're getting upgraded next year so I'll get a new one and then I can do whatever I want with my old one.WHY did you ask for a Chromebook, that's WORSE than what you have.i dont have any idea, theres 20 year old laptops that run it fine to macbooks that once hated MacOS but like Ubuntu for some reason, so this is a really open ended question. Try something with a maybe 6th or 7th gen Intel CPU (2 core is fine, i have 2 laptops which run linux fine on 2 cores)I don't have a random computer lying around that I can use so I'd have to buy something from my local store… but I don't really like spending money. But I get a new Chromebook next year, so then I might be able to convert my old one. You don't need to buy a laptop with Linux preinstalled. Get a good ol' Windows computer and just install Linux. Come on man, Linux isn't for money making.
I think this is what I got: https://www.lenovo.com/ao/en/laptops/thinkpad/11e-series/c/11e-series

(#538)I'm a mac user and I understand.
The small, poor penguin was destroyed by a.sudo rm -rf /* --no-preserve-root
only linux users will understand.
They should actually get rid of –no-preserve-root it makes no sense.
If you want to get rid of all your files and your necessary system functions, formatting is better.
