THIS IS RIDICULOUS… I just changed my search engine to startpage, next time I open my browser, I see this…
Use recommended browser settings

Surf better with the newest Microsoft edge, the best browser for Windows 10 no, you didn't misread –with number 1 power, privacy heh and productivity.

Use the browser settings recommended by Microsoft.
Default search engine: Microsoft Bing
Don't update your browser settings

Either this was a joke or you haven't had enough cereal yet. Like seriously, are you sure you were OK when you wrote this? You wrote “he”, as if you were referring to a real person, not a fictional one.

It's a joke, or telling the future. Either or. Microsoft will do anything to make people use edge.

I'm not sure. I don't usually check that popup very often.

On Scratch, it lists the supported operating systems with questionable accuracy, to say the least.

Last I checked, HTML5 wasn't an operating system.

Clicking the banner shows a bit more information, along with links to Scratch's Wikipedia page and a certain social media I'm probably not allowed to name.

It seems Edge is using Bing's “knowledge panels” to get this information. Searching for “scratch” on Bing shows an info box with roughly the same information.

so i first got chromium edge when i saw that ms was advertising it so people upgrade to the new edge…

and if you do that, it uninstalls the old edge even though you can't and installs the new one instead, how does that even work? microsoft is breaking it's own rules!!!

socialix - why is there a penguin breaking my window? - signatures are overrated
