Loves vs Favorites
A favourite saves a project to a list on your profile page, while loves don't. This list is also visible to anyone who look sat your profile page, which is probably the main benefit for the user who made the project as it means more people might find their project.

Loves vs Favorites
Both are important in a way. A lot of users tend to just love projects, some of them love and favorite any project they like, and some of them just favorite (although I hardly see this) and some do kind of a mix of loving/favoriting and just loving.
While “favoriting” is usually seen as a better thing since if you see the project on a user's favorite page you might want to view it (especially if that's a user you like), a project with several loves can often get to the top loved section.

To put it in perspective, loves are simply used to show appreciation for the project, while favorites are used so that the user can come back to the project if they want to.
That's typically how I use loves and favorites. I only favorite a project if I know that I want to see it again. But there are plenty of projects out there that showcase good gameplay, art, coding, or humor, and even if I might not favorite it, I still love it, because it's a cool project.

Loves vs Favorites
What's the difference?Loves and favorites aren't too different, but they do have similarities and differences.
If your project gets a ton of loves, it will be under the “What the Community is Loving.” or so. Favorites don't share this.
In addition, Favorites have their own section on your profile page. Let's say you favorited a project about cats and loved a project about dogs. The dog project won't appear on your profile page (unless you favorite it) but the cat project would be under your page under favorites. The favorite projects will get a list and you can see them all. Once you unfavorite a project, it will get removed under your favorite list until you favorite it again.
Both aren't better than the other. They are all signs that people love a project and good ways to be constructive around the site.

Hope this helped!

hmm…*think* …maybe favorites are a little more important ‘cause they post them on the user’s profile saying “favorite projects”. Maybe loves are a little less important ‘cause they just do it in “what iv’e been doing”. And they put literally EVERYTHING in what iv'e been doing…so maybe favorite is more important than love…ᵏⁱⁿᵈᵃ ˡⁱᵏᵉ ʳᵉᵃˡ ˡⁱᶠᵉ:ᵖ
