WHY is my sprite not showing up no matter what I do? [SOLVED]

I'm makeing a project on scratch but the only picture showing up is my backdrop, I'm wondering if it has something to do with layers?

play sound [ v]

pen up
ask  and wait
repeat

So i am trying to add a sprite from my computer (it does not show in custom files but only in all files)
and it says uploading and it shows me when its done but it doesn't show in my code and i tried reloading ALOT of times SO wHaT sHoUld I dO???????

That's the only tip that works for me trying to get a sprite to show
