How to prioritize SWC over life

Disclaimer: This is a joke, I don’t at all suggest that you actually put to practice anything in the workshop. Life > SWC is always always true

1. Procrastinate
This may sound very counter productive. How is procrastinating on the daily and weekly going to help you prioritize SWC over life? Well, when I say procrastinate, I mean procrastinate on everything. And then, instead of doing homework and chores, speedrun the daily. Word vomit out a weekly. This will help you make sure SWC stays at the center of your attention.

2. Stay up late
Essentially, sleep is for the weak. Throw sleep out the window. You don’t need it anymore. Writing five thousand words all by yourself so your cabin doesn’t lose any points in cabin wars is far more important than getting a healthy eight hours of sleep. In fact, you don’t even have to write when you stay up past your bed time. Wander around. Go annoy your enemies and give snacks to your allies. Everything SWC is more important than sleep.

3. Forget to eat
“Star, how do I forget to eat??” you may ask.
And truthfully, you can never guarantee that you’ll forget to eat, but you can do your best. Start writing just before lunch. You’ll probably get so into your writing that you’ll forget all about eating!

4. Don’t take breaks
You’ve just sat down for an hour and slapped down one thousand words. Your leaders may tell you this is enough, and that you should go take a break. However, if you don’t feel sick, overly sore/exhausted, or absolutely done with life, you probably don’t need a break! Keep word vomiting. Every word counts!

5. Neglect your vegetables
Vegetables do not help you write. They are completely, utterly useless when it comes to SWC. Your parents and doctor may try to convince you that you need to eat your veggies. If you would like prioritize SWC over life, than stop eating vegetables! Eat fruit instead! Like mangoes. Mangoes are good. Mangoes are life. They will help you on your writing journey, unlike horrid vegetables.

6. Spend your whole Saturday participating in cabin wars
Don’t spend your Saturdays doing leisure activities. Spend them writing a ridiculous amount of words in a ridiculously short amount of time so your enemy doesn’t win a single war against you. This asserts your dominance to the other cabins.

Part 1
Cabin Wars, Adventure, and the Sci-Fi Spy
The cabin’s door flew open, and Amy ran in. “Guys, GUYS! I have an idea.” A grin crept across her face. “A rather dark idea.”
I leaned closer, intrigued.
“We must wait until Cabin Wars start,” she continued, “because when they do, the so-called Sci-Fi cabin is going to be destroyed.”
I grinned evilly back. “I like this idea.”
“When they start, we’ll all go and declare war on Sci-Fi,” Amy explained. “They might have our throne, but with our quick writing, we shall beat them easily.” Her grin grew.
I cackled. “I’m looking forward to cabin wars.”
Hydro walked over, and returned our evil grins. “Yes, a very good idea. But we might need some of our allies to help.”
Soon, between Amy, Hydro, and Claire (who had overheard the conversation), Contemporary, Non-Fi, Mystery, and Thriller had all been asked to help out with our plan.

I walked into the Real-Fi cabin. It was set up like a film studio, and a rather messy one, at that. I managed not to trip over any furniture as I greeted them. “Hi, I’m Kit. Me and my fellow Adventure campers are planning to take down Sci-Fi when cabin wars start, and I was wondering if you’d want to help.” After a short pause, I added, “Three other cabins have already agreed to join.” I had been going to say which cabins, but then realized that 2 of the 3– Mystery and Contemporary– were Real-Fi’s enemies.
I looked around the cabin. “Whether or not you agree to help, please DON’T TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT. Sorry to yell, but it’s important. So unless you want Sci-Fi to win, keep it secret.”
Hop walked over. “I would oblige to that agreement, you are our allies after all. We should get Robin’s consent before going straight ahead, just in case.”
I nodded. “I’ll check back in soon, and see what you think.”

It was in asking Poetry that things went wrong. As Hydro reported to us, she walked into the Poetry cabin, and asked if they wanted to help 3 other cabins take down Sci-Fi. Someone– not a Poetry camper– leaned in through the window and announced that they were reporting this to Sci-Fi, where they turned out to be a camper.
“Guys, Sci-Fi found out about our plan,” Hydro told us. “NOOOOO! But we will still get them.”
“So I heard.” I had gotten back from checking in with Real-Fi, where I first heard about Sci-Fi knowing our plan. The Sci-Fi Spy, as they were known, turned out to have been stalking Real-Fi, too. “Oh well, it was kind of inevitable. They will still be crushed.” I grinned evilly.
Pandora came over. “Noo! What plan was this?”
Hydro and I explained what plan this was.
“That’s… actually a pretty good idea!” Pandora said. “Too bad they found out.”
We agreed that yes, it was too bad.
“Me, Pika, and Vivi will share all the information about cabin wars soon,” she told us.
It was soon, because a day or so later, it was announced that cabin wars were tomorrow.
Part 2
She began her exploration of the library by attempting to find where her favorite books were kept. That seemed like a good place to start. She walked through the aisles of books until she spied a familiar title. Keeper of the Lost Cities. She smiled, running her hand along its spine. It used to be one of her favorites, though she didn’t like it so much now. It honestly seemed rather silly to her.
If this was M for Messenger, then…
A little further down, she found her current favorite author, Jaclyn Moriarty. She stroked The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone, and observed that The Whispering Wars was called The Slightly Alarming Tale of the Whispering Wars. It must be a different edition (the Australian one, maybe?), and the title fit better with The Extremely Inconvenient Adventure of Bronte Mettlestone. And next to it… The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst? She hadn’t read that yet. She pulled it off the shelf, sat down in the nearest beanbag chair, and began reading.
She was so immersed in the book, it was over an hour before she remembered she had meant to keep exploring. She finished the chapter she was on, then grabbed a bookmark (the shelves had racks filled with bookmarks, which was very convenient and thoughtful), and started wandering the library some more.
It wasn’t long before she stumbled upon what the library was most famous for. The collection of unpublished fanfiction. It was, she found, organized by fandom, and the fandoms were in alphabetical order. This would, in theory, make it easy to find fanfiction for any given fandom. She was not looking for anything in particular, so she browsed the fandoms in search of one she knew.
The first she came across was labeled Lemony Snicket Universe, and contained fanfiction for both A Series of Unfortunate Events and All The Wrong Questions. Unsurprisingly, most of it went with the more popular series, the one of unfortunate events. There were still several All The Wrong Questions fanfics, though, and after scowling at a Snellington fanfiction (seriously, did its author even read the last book? she thought harshly. Lemony x Ellington just doesn’t work.), she noticed a more intriguing-looking ATWQ ship fanfic, which also included Ellington. She read several pages of a story written by someone who appeared to ship Ellington Feint with Kit Snicket, which she thought made much more sense with the end of Why Is This Night Different From All The Other Nights?.
She thought the writing itself was no good, though, and soon reshelved the fanfic, thinking sadly of Kit Snicket’s ultimate fate.
That was enough exploring for one day, she decided, so she returned to her beanbag chair and resumed reading The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst.

Part 3
“MeEEeeEEAhh!!”
You whip your head around to see a goat lightly bumping you with his stubby horns. You grin and pet the glorious creature behind his ears. With an abrupt sigh, you look up at the towering mountain in front of you. Jungle-like trees, rocks blanketed in moss, and unique animals all cover the mountain. If you focus, you can hear the faint trickle of what must be a waterfall.
The goat bumps you again, so you move to the side. You follow the trotting animal to a group of people - three of which wholesomely smile at you. “I'm Pika! These two are Vivi and Pandora. Welcome to the Adventure Mountain Survivalists!!”
I smile. I had been hoping to get to adventure with the Survivalists this month. There were several other places I would have also liked to be, but climbing this mountain sounded better than any of them.
Upon Pika’s suggestion, we all introduce ourselves.
“Uh, hi!” I say, nervous and shy as well as excited. “I’m Kit, and I’m really excited to adventure with all of you.”
Introductions are a good way to, well, get introduced to people. There’s a lot of people… I try to memorize their names. Amy… Val… Hydro… Moss… and many others. Not to mention Pika, Vivi, and Pandora.
We will start the climb tomorrow, Pika announces. For now, we will be staying in a little cabin here at the base of the mountain. I can see that cabin through a stand of trees, and soon I am being led to it.
It’s a rustic wood building that the jungle appears to be in the process of swallowing. Its roof is covered with moss, and vines climb the walls. It doesn’t appear to have been used much recently, and is clearly nothing fancy. We’ll only be staying here for a night, though, before we leave for the adventure tomorrow. It should be able to serve its current purpose– briefly housing the Survivalists– just fine.
Much more interesting than the cabin was the makeshift goat pasture that sat next to it. Pika announces that we could each pick a goat. This is perfect!
I choose a gray goat who apparently didn’t have a name. I, therefor, got to name it. Now it is, in fact, perfect. I decided to name the goat Sherman.
After that, I join some of the other new Survivalists in the cabin. The inside is only slightly less decrepit than the outside, but there’s practically no moss on the walls, and the 20 bunk beds look stable. Not that I’m a bunk bed expert.
I climb cautiously up one of them. It creaks ominously, but seemed otherwise safe.
I lay down in my now-claimed top bunk. I’m looking forward to this trip.

Part 4
It was the penultimate day of Scratch Writing Camp, and chaos was already descending– well, extra chaos. SWC was always chaotic.
Poetry had already destroyed their cabin (the destruction included the words “Hi we need a theme song” written in green spraypaint on the front), and allied with Sci-Fi against Adventure. Neither cabin was terribly happy with us at the moment. Sci-Fi had attempted to attack our goats. Poetry now had an anthem, as we learned from spying on them, and the words were literally just “Down with Adventure! Down with Adventure!”
I didn’t know if we were still in first or not. I didn’t know if we would be in first or not by the end of camp. I didn’t know how many words each cabin wrote. And I didn’t know who won the writing competition, as that hadn’t been released yet. Basically, there were a lot of variables when it came to the points, and I had no idea what place we would be in when the results came out.
It was a high-point daily, too. I had arrived at the main cabin just as they finished calling it out, so I didn’t hear the whole thing and had to rely on the sign on the wall. I much preferred getting to hear them call out the daily.
The main cabin, like the rest of the camp, was even more chaotic than usual. I had a long, polite discussion with a Poetry camper over which of our cabins would win. That was before Poetry’s cabin had its… makeover, and invented its anthem.
I finished my daily quickly, and then proceeded to procrastinate on my weekly. There didn’t seem to be much to do besides spy on Sci-Fi and Poetry (except write, of course, but I didn’t feel like it).
I decided to go for a walk around the camp, without spying on anyone. Well, spying wasn’t the point of it, anyway. If I just happened to overhear something of interest, that wasn’t my fault. They should talk quieter if they don’t want me to overhear.
I walked out the door of Adventure. I passed Contemporary, which looked like a mini-school from the outside, Dystopian, recently repainted gold for its golden age, Fairy Tales, with its whimsical plants in front, and Fanfiction, Adventure’s dear evil twin of a library. I walked by Fantasy, half-hidden by the stand of trees in front of it, Hi-Fi, with its cobblestone walkway leading up to it, Horror, all black and white and inky, and Mystery, which was designed to look a bit like an old-fashioned train car. I continued past Myth, with its great pillars in front, Non-Fi, where the cabin itself looked almost like a computer, Poetry, now with its new graffitied front, and Real-Fi, yellow and black and made to look like a film studio. I was in front of Sci-Fi when I thought of something and turned back around.
I walked up to Realistic Fiction and knocked on the door. Hop answered.
“Hi, I was wondering if you had any poison cookies left?” I asked.
Hop smiled. “We’ve actually been trying to get rid of the last of them before camp ends. Wait here, I’ll go grab them.” She disappeared into the cabin. A few minutes later, she returned, carrying a tray of poisoned cookies.
“Thanks!” I said. “They’re for Sci-Fi and Poetry.” I grinned evilly.
I headed to the Sci-Fi cabin first. I pulled my notebook and pencil out of my massive tie-on pocket, and thought for a moment. We baked you some cookies! I wrote. Good luck winning the session! Beat Adventure and Poetry for us! -Horror
I set the note in front of the door of Sci-Fi, and put half the cookies on top of it. Then I proceeded to Poetry. I try to remember who they’re allies with. It used to be Adventure, but not anymore, not since they got 1st and we got 2nd and we decided to betray them in cabin wars. Let’s see… Contemporary! Poetry was part of the SWC High Arsonists. I wrote a similar note to the one I left Sci-Fi: We baked you some cookies! Good luck winning! Enjoy! -Contemporary. I then set that in front of the door to Poetry, along with the rest of the cookies.
Smiling, I headed back to Adventure. Hopefully Poetry and Sci-Fi would eat the cookies, thinking they were from their allies, and be too sick to write. And if they still wrote, well, at least we’d have some revenge. Wait, revenge for what? Oh, whatever. What if Poetry and Sci-Fi noticed that they had matching notes and cookies, each note written in the same handwriting, each claiming to be from different cabins? What if someone thanked the other Well, I just had to hope they wouldn’t. Besides, even if they did, they would have no way of knowing an Adventure camper did it. Although that would be the most logical conclusion…
There was no need to worry about this. Either they’d eat the cookies and get poisoned, or they wouldn’t.
By now, I had walked back past Non-Fiction, Myth, Mystery, Horror, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Fanfiction, Fairy Tales, Dystopian, and Contemporary, and had arrived at my own cabin. I pushed the door open.
“Guys!” I called to Adventure. “I just gave Poetry and Sci-Fi poisoned cookies!”
This led to multiple cheers and evil laughs.
I explained about getting the cookies from Real-Fi, and how I had made it seem like the notes were from allies of the cabins and therefor probably not poisoned.
“Do you think they’ll eat them?” Pandora asked.
“We could spy on them to find out,” Amy suggested.
“Yes!” I was usually up for spying on other cabins.
“But won’t it seem suspicious if we’re caught spying?” Hydro pointed out.
“We spy on them all the time,” Amy reasoned. “It won’t make the cookies seem suspicious.”
So, after a bit more discussion, we left to spy on Science Fiction and Poetry.

Extra credit essays: (this is 737 words btw) and is the toy essay:

Have you ever wondered how silly putty or the frisbee was
invented? Children and adults across the world use these toys but many
people do not know how playthings such as these were created. For
example, the frisbee was based off an invention that was for a totally
different purpose than what most people use frisbees for today and silly
putty was created accidently. The details about how frisbees and silly
putty were created will be explained.
To begin with, many toys were repurposed and the frisbee was one
of those many toys. In the article it states that the frisbee was based off
an invention called a pie tin and that creation was used to bake pies.
Imagine being in a garden with an abundant amount of people playing
with their dogs. While looking around, the only thing that looks like it
could be a toy for a dog to play a game with is a few old broken sticks.
Suddenly, a young girl picks up a pie tin and flings it through the air.
Dogs and puppies from all over the park dash to the flying disk to try to
catch it. According to the article, “Pie tins were used as Frisbees for a
long time, but in 1948, Walter Frederick Morrison decided to create a
better pie tin. He made it out of plastic and called it the Pluto Platter.”
This is important because, even before changes to the pie tin had been
made to make it more like a frisbee many people still used pie tins as a
toy. After several evolutions to the Pluto Planets name and design it
eventually became known as the frisbee and the frisbee became one of
the most popular toys of all time. A multitude of toys were made when
repurposed and frisbees are a great example of that.
Furthermore, toys were not only created by repurposing objects of
the past, they were also created by accident. One of the many examples
of toys that were created by accident is the famous, well known toy that
started around the time of the 1950s, silly putty. According to the text,
“In 1943, James Wright, an engineer, was working on a synthetic rubber
product. He combined the chemicals boric acid and silicone oil in a test
tube; nevertheless, the result was not rubber but, instead, just a pile of
goo.” After finding out several interesting properties about the goo he
created Wright sent his invention to scientists across the globe but
nobody could figure out what the goo could be used for. To further
explain, Wright tried to do everything he could to see if the piece of goo
he invented could be helpful in any way possible but he was not able to
find any type of usefulness in the goo he created. So far, it seems like
James Wright was in a very tough situation at the time! In paragraph
12 of the text the author stated that “The scientists could not come up
with any answers, but when it somehow got into the hands of a family
with kids, the answer was clear…it made a fantastic toy!” Picture this, a
child brought silly putty to a house in a neighborhood and all the
children and adults in the neighborhood wanted to see the most popular
toy in town. Everybody dashes across wherever they are sitting or
standing and runs to the house with the child that has the silly putty and
tries to get a chance to squeeze and stretch the silly putty. The child lets
everyone get a chance to play with the fun toy. After such an amusing
time of playing with the silly putty everyone there bought silly putty the
next time they saw it on sale. Toys were made by accident and silly
putty is one of the many great examples of a toy being created
accidently.
In conclusion, silly putty and frisbees were both invented in
extremely interesting ways that many people would not think they were
made by. Silly putty was made by accident and frisbees were made by
repurposing an object from the past. Harriet Tubman once said, “Every
great dream begins with a dreamer.” This shows that the people who
made silly putty and frisbees must’ve been dreamers because those
creations were once a great dream and now have come into reality
whether by accident or when repurposed.

SERVICE ANIMALS: DD 575 words:
Imagine having a physical disability that causes a loss of eyesight
that handicaps every second of your life. Some people believe that
service animals are not beneficial or helpful to humans since they might
transfer diseases to humans. In my opinion, service animals are
beneficial to humans because they assist disabled people with simple
tasks, and they provide emotional support.
To begin with, I firmly believe service animals can assist people
with physical challenges with simple tasks. According to the text,
capuchin monkeys can do simple tasks such as loading a DVD into a
player and push play, or open and close microwave doors. Imagine
seeing somebody in a house, having trouble walking. This person wants
to listen to his DVD player, but the player is very far away from him and
it would be difficult to do that action with his disability. Suddenly his
service animal, a capuchin monkey loads the DVD into the player and
pushes play. The man then listens to the music and lays down on a couch
knowing that his service animal has assisted him. The text claims that
“Hearing dogs support people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.” This is
important because if someone is deaf and a smoke alarm went off in
their house a hearing dog could alert her that the smoke alarm went off.
If the person did not have a hearing dog, she would most likely not know
that the smoke alarm went off and her life might be in jeopardy. All
kinds of service animals can assist people in many ways. Capuchin
monkeys and hearing dogs are beneficial to human lives in many ways.
Furthermore, I strongly believe service animals can support people
not only by doing simple tasks but also by providing people with
disabilities emotional support. The article “Animals Helping People”
supports this idea because it states assistance animals can be “good
friends”. Having an animal friend is important because someone who is
disabled can sometimes feel sad or lonely. Their service animal is like a
friend who is always by their side ready to comfort disabled people to
help them let go of their worries by supporting them. Dolphins are one
of the animals that can comfort people with physical challenges. The
caption under a photo in the article “Animals Helping People” claims
that “Dolphins are calming creatures”. Picture a child that is depressed
because he cannot move his hands. The child is playing with dolphins in
an ocean. The dolphins play with the child by squealing at him and
letting the boy play with them. After the playtime with the dolphins is
over the young boy feels happier and has a smile on his face. This would
be refreshing for the child to do since dolphins can support disabled
people when they are feeling lonely, depressed, or just need a friend to
tell their troubles to. My point of view is that assistance animals such as
dolphins can assist disabled people.
I strongly believe service animals are beneficial to humans because they
assist disabled people with simple tasks, and they provide emotional
support. Monkeys can load DVDs into players and push play. Hearing
dogs can alert deaf owners that a smoke alarm went off. Dolphins
provide comfort to people. As Maya Angelou once said, “Be a rainbow
in somebody else’s cloud.” Assistance animals naturally become the
rainbow in the clouds of humans with physical and emotional
disabilities.

Robot one: (541 words)
Have you ever wondered how robots contribute to humanity? There are
many examples of robots working to make human lives better and more secure.
Robots contribute to our lives in positive ways by completing tasks that humans
usually do and by providing security. Robots are changing the way humans live
around the globe.
To begin with, robots help human lives in an abundance of positive ways
such as the fact that they can complete human tasks. In the article “Robots Aren’t
Afraid of Anything” it claims that robots don’t get tired or bored of doing the same
things over and over. Imagine knowing a person who owns a company that makes
chocolates. Some of this person’s employees have a repetitive job to pick up
packages and place those packages onto conveyer belts. This job can easily be
replaced by robots since robots can do the exact same thing. That would be so
much easier for the robots to do since they would not get tired or bored. According
to the text, “Robots are incredible inventions that can do many things people
usually do.”. The TUG is one of the many robots that can do human tasks. It assists
hospitals by transferring food and prescriptions to patients’ rooms. Robots
contribute to our lives in several positive ways and one of those positive ways is
the fact that they can complete human tasks.
Furthermore, robots contribute to our lives by providing security and safety as
well. In the article Robots Aren’t Afraid of Anything it states that there are robot
guard dogs that wander around a house and take photos of anything that seems
suspicious in a house. The robot guard dog then sends those photos to a cell phone.
For example, if a fire were to breakout in a home without anybody inside it a robot
guard dog could send a photo to the owner or owners of the house so the owner(s)
could know their house is in danger. The owner(s) would then probably try to stop
the fire by calling firefighters. This is better than the owner(s) of the house being
unaware of the fire. According to the text GroundBots are used in places like
airports so they can rove around the airport and make sure that no one is acting
suspiciously. Picture being in an airport where hundreds of people are walking into
the building. Everything seems very safe and tranquil. Suddenly, a GroundBot
spots a weapon in one of the people’s pockets and knows that the person is
dangerous. The GroundBot then takes control of the situation and everybody in the
airport is saved from the potentially dangerous situation. Robots contribute to
humans lives in so many positive ways but a key one is the fact that they keep us
safe.
Robots contribute to our lives in positive ways by completing tasks that humans
usually do and by providing security. For example, robots can replace repetitive
jobs and many other human tasks. Robot guard dogs and GroundBots keep many
types of buildings secure. Kid President once said, “In order to change the world
you’ve got to know about it!” Knowing about how robots contribute to our lives in
positive ways will make people learn more about the world.

Elfie blinks herself awake in the grove. She doesn’t have long to clear the sleep from her eyes, because Dhriti looms over her.

Honestly, Elfie isn’t surprised. Dhriti could be particularly baffling at times. That was one of the reasons having the non-fi co-leader as a friend was so interesting.

Dhriti, however, wasn’t interested in playing games today.

“I’m declaring war on you,” she says, dead serious.

Elfie doesn’t have time to open her mouth before Dhriti darts away to who knows where.

She doesn’t think much of it. It was probably one of Dhriti’s little pranks.

It was not a little prank.

The next morning, she wakes to her messages pinging off at a horribly fast rate.

A little panic starting to beat in her chest, she hurriedly opens the messages. Is her cabin in trouble? Did something happen to Sun or Poem?

Her messages load in, and she immediately discovers that no, nothing terrible has happened.

Well, not something seriously terrible. But apparently Dhriti was dead serious about starting a war. The two hundred and nineteen messages in her inbox proved it.

Elfie doesn’t despair, however. Two can play at this game.

Elfie bursts into the main area of the Grove.

“People are rebelling against my just rule. Would anybody like to help me fight this war?”

Sun jerks up from their maps of the stars. “They’re attacking the Grove?”

“No, not the Grove. Just my rule in general. Will you help me?”

Sun furrows their eyebrows, obviously confused at her request. “I… suppose so?”

Just then, Star wanders into the common area. “What’s going on?” she asks, sensing something off between the leader and the co.

“I have been attacked by Dhriti and her evil allies. Would you care to help me get revenge?”

“Of course!” Star eagerly agrees.

“Very good. Come join me at our secret base. We’ll make our revenge plot there.”

Star wasn’t one hundred percent sure what she signed up for when she agreed to help take down Dhriti, Fenn, and Kora, but the moment she walks into Elfie’s secret base, she knows she made the right decision.

Battle plans are written up on a huge white board, along with some beautifully written patriotic poems written by Elfie herself. A few people linger about, reading the board and talking amongst themselves.

“Welcome to our base,” Elfie welcomes, spreading her arms out. “Make yourself at home.”

Star wanders over to the whiteboard.

“Would it be helpful if I spammed those on the hitlist?” she inquires. Elfie nods enthusiastically.

Grinning to herself, Star hurries off and begins plotting her spam.

Sitting under one of the ancient trees that loomed over the Grove, she taps her feather pen against her face as she thinks of a plan.

See, the thing about spam is that the individual messages are so forgettable. Mostly just simple words, or repetition of the same phrase. She had studied the spam the rebellion against Elfie had sent. While most impressive in quantity, there was such little taste to the messages themselves.

So what would really stand out as a spam message? An essay about why Elfie was far superior to the rebels, that’s what.

The mountains are a lonely place to be. I’ve learned that very quickly.

The only real sound is the whistling mountains. The song they sing is empty. I hate the mountains’ song.

I don’t know how long it’s been, but I’m so very very tired. I want to go home. I don’t know what’s on the top of this mountain, but I don’t think it’s worth it.

That is, until, a loud meaaaaah! sounds from above me.

Jerking my head up, I’m met with the majestic sight of a goat.

I can’t do anything but stand and stare in awe of the elegant creature. It hops down to me, movements full of grace.

It lightly headbutts me with it’s smooth gray horns. I gently pet the goat’s head, and I can’t help but giggle. I quite like this creature.

It tilts its head up toward the mountain. It wants me to follow it.

If I were on my own, I wouldn’t have kept going. But with this lovely, majestic creature by my side? I feel like I can take on the whole world.

I hop along with the goat. The going is tough, but when I get tired, the goat lets me lean on it. Its muscles are strong, yet the creature is so very gentle.

It leads me up the winding mountain. I’m about to ask the goat how much farther when we peek over a large rock and are meant with a little camp. People bustle about playing games, writing, or taking care of the herd of goats grazing and frolicking in the pasture.

“Is that your home?” I ask. The goat nods.

“It’s beautiful,” I compliment, meaning each word. Filled with a new burst of energy, I bound over the rock. “Come on, Mr. Goat!” I call, “Let’s go see all your friends!”

You thought you knew the definition of elegance and beauty, but the moment you step foot into the Celestial Poetry Grove you realize that no, you really didn’t. Nothing you’ve ever seen compares to the majesty of the Grove.

The sun bathes the Grove in soft yellow light. You see a golden leaf flutter down from a great oak in the center of the Grove, and you almost pass its color off as the sun’s light. It isn’t. The leaf is golden and thousands of other beautiful leaves sway in the breeze on the oak.

The grass is soft and green, and you’re quite certain that you could fall asleep on it. Vines climb over trees and almost seem to extend themselves toward you in greeting.

The Grove is as old as time itself, and you are far from the first person to walk its sacred grounds. As you start walking around, and it almost feels as if you’re intruding. You don’t know why you feel this way; the Grove is empty as empty can be. But you step lightly and carefully regardless.

You perk up when you catch sight of three figures. They notice you almost immediately and hurry over to you.

“Welcome,” the one in front with a blue sweater greets, “to the Celestial Poetry Grove. We hope you enjoy your stay here!”

The figures almost seem to be surrounded by something mythical themselves. You can’t quite place your finger on it, but the Grove whispers its approval of them. They are good. It makes you feel more and more like a speck of dirt on a perfect white canvas.

But then the blue figure grabs your arm and pulls you off further into the Grove. The one in the blue sweater starts excitedly explaining stargazers, poetry, and comets. The purple panda follows along eagerly, throwing in their own explanation whenever they see fit.

The ugly feeling fades away. You’ve come to the Celestial Poetry Grove, and it’s now your home.

No plot, just Ghost begrudgingly getting to know the intruders of the Celestial Poetry Grove. Also there’s an Ender’s Game reference because. I love Ender’s Game

The Ghost of Poetry Grove doesn’t know what these strange people are doing, but he doesn’t like it.

There are three of them. One with black hair and a blue sweater, one with bluish skin and matching darker hair, and a purple panda wearing a little tophat. They gaze at the Grove in wonder and explore the sacred space giddily. No respect is shown to the Grove, to the ones who died in it.

Ghost doesn’t like these people. These “astronomers” as they call themselves. He should kick them out. Punish them for this despicable behaviour.

But he doesn’t.

The three mysterious astronomers bring friends.

They populate the Grove, and soon the once eerily empty area is replaced by telescopes, scattered papers, and snacks. The newcomers (who are being called “stargazers”) aren’t any better than the astronomers. While they’re occasionally quiet and solemn as they pour over their writing, for the most part they’re loud and chaotic. It’s awful.

Finally having enough of these rude people, Ghost reveals himself.

He appears one early morning, right in the common area of the Grove. The only one awake and milling about is the one they call Saika.

She gazes at Ghost dully, not at all shocked by his presence. “Greetings,” she murmurs.

“Greetings, human,” Ghost replies. “What are you doing wandering my abode this morning?”

Saika shrugs. “Simply walking. It appears that I’ve stumbled across you.”

“Interesting,” he notes under his breath. Louder, so the human can hear, he says, “Unlike your fellow stargazers, you seem to be a kindred spirit.”

Saika smiles, then continues on her way.

The bluish one they call Sun comes across him next.

“Who are you?” They ask curiously.

“The Ghost of the Celestial Poetry Grove,” Ghost murmurs, not at all hiding his displeasure. “You all are trespassing on sacred grounds. You must leave.”

Sun doesn’t seem the least bit threatened or intimidated. “But we’ve made our home here in the Grove. You can’t just ask us to leave.”

“I do what I want,” the Ghost growls. “I am the caretaker of these sacred grounds, and I am demanding that you leave.”

“No,” Sun replies, stubborn.

While on the outside he seethes, the Ghost only sighs on the inside. It’s going to be a long talk.

The astronomers propose an alliance. They want to take down Sci-fi too.

Ghost doesn’t like it. The stargazers and their leaders are intruders. He wants them gone.

Regardless, he agrees to this alliance.

The rest of the stargazers quickly notice his presence. They’re eager to “get to know him.”

By “getting to know him,” he means “annoy him to death.”

Recca asks how he’s doing. He replies, “Fairing badly.”

Damson doesn’t even bother with formalities. “Who are you?” she asks.

“I am who I am,” Ghost replies. “That’s all you need to know.”

Damson huffs. Ghost doesn’t give.

Star skips up to him and greets him cheerfully.

“Hello, Ghost! I’d love to get to know you better!”

Ghost sighs at her cheerfulness. “I would love to converse with you,” he responds, and while his voice is gruff, the hint of a smile crosses his face.

Other stargazers come his way, all with curious questions, jabbing taunts, and cheerful greetings. Ghost hates it. He does.

But he’d be lying if he said the stargazers of Poetry Grove haven’t grown on him.

Ghostie.

The nickname is disgusting. Terrible. The name of a pet. Ghost is no pet.

Yet almost every single poet in the Grove refers to him as such. He blames the cursed Elfie. She started it, and the poets always follow their leader.

“Ghostie,” Elfie affectionately greets one morning. Ghost levels her with his best glare and threatens her, and she scoffs and continues on her business.

“Meanie,” she murmurs under her breath, and Ghost is this close to cursing her.

Will picks up on the nickname next. And then all the others follow suit. It’s so bad, in fact, that other outsiders begin referring to him as Ghostie.

Ghost hates it, but there’s really nothing he can do now.

They did it. They defeated Sci-fi.

They all bustle about eagerly, and the Grove is filled with shouts and celebration. Sun and Lily both scream together, Aela and Elfie are clapping and laughing, and Poem throws papers around with the other stargazers. It’s chaos.

But chaos is to be expected of the stargazers, Ghost has learned. As much as they wander silently through the night and solemnly scratch at their papers under the big oak tree, the poets of the Grove are really quite chaotic.

It doesn’t take long for the leader, Elfie, to put a new goal in front of them: defeat Adventure. The stargazers are ready and eager to fight, and soon they’re all rapidly writing, finishing weeklies and dailies.

Technically, the alliance is over. Ghost is free to… do, well, whatever. He doesn’t have to be nice to them anymore.

He is anyway.

“I will be nice to you for one day,” Ghost tells the stargazers one morning.

Dhriti, for some reason hanging around Poetry’s common area, smirks. “So I can say all the mean things to you I want, and you won’t be able to stop me?”

Ghost scowls. “Do not test me, human.”

Dhriti sticks her tongue out.

Star’s grins when he announces this.

“Hooray! This is such good news, Ghost!” after a second of pause, she hesitantly continues, “If we win SWC, will you be nice to us for two days?”

Ghost flicks her forehead. “I suppose so. I will be nice to you, and perhaps Saika, but that is all.”

Star smiles brighter and heads off to complete her daily.

The other stargazers are not as appreciative of his suffering for them. They taunt him and jab at him. Which is fine, because Ghost has more than enough comebacks of his own.

SWC starts drawing to a close.

Ghost wants the Grove back. He wants to honor and respect his dead people.

But at the same time, these strange new stargazers aren’t so bad company.

Sure, maybe they’re too loud, too chaotic, too clumsy. But Saika walks with him in the dead of night, Elfie writes beautiful poetry with him, Sun debates with him until they get bored, Lily chatters away to him, Poem draws constellations for him to look at, Star goes stargazing with him, Will jokes with him, Jori writes pages of stories he can read, Wolfe explains her plots and writings to him, Willow dances with him, and Aela makes him flower crowns that he begrudgingly accepts.

So as they laugh and write and talk, Ghost decides that he’ll consider their staying. Because maybe these stargazers can carry his people’s legacy. They could become speakers for the dead.

The Ghost of Poetry Grove knows these poets, and he thinks that maybe, just maybe, he can consider them part of his people.

Part 1 THE TORTURE BEGINS: (569 words)
“AHHHH” Nayeli said when she realized that she might have not completed her homework on time. “I AM LATE BY ONE MINUTE!!!!!! Dumb UTC time- you never follow my rules” she then said as she started to freak out. She wondered what could have happened to her grades- maybe this F will make her grades drop from her perfect 100 percent to a B. “A B?!?!?!!” she thought. She then started to run around her room acting like a crazy person and throwing pillows around like she was about to die right that second. She then yelled, yelled so hard throughout the house “ALL THAT SUFFERING, ALL THAT PAIN, ALL THAT TORTURE FOR A F!!!” Her parents instantly came to her room since they thought she was injured or dying. They said, “What happened???” Nayeli then told them all about the predicament she was in by saying “I DID NOT SUBMIT MY ESSAY ON TIME BECAUSE THE TEACHER IS NOW USING UTC TIME!!” Her parents then calmed down a bit since they realized she was not physically hurt.
They then said “Nayeli, this has happened twice already. If it is really that much of a problem we can cance-“ Nayeli then interrupted them in the middle of a word and said in a calm, strong voice “You do not need to cancel any of my after school activities. You know I am smart. I am in advanced classes for a reason. I can deal with it. Just sometimes I slip up a little that’s all.” Nayeli then wished she was as calm as she had sounded- at the moment of the true reality of how she was feeling was stressed and annoyed. She was feeling so stressed right now that in order to not start crying she was thinking about all of the good things she does in her life that makes her awesome like guitar, karate, or the amount of effort she puts into things, and so much more. Her parents then started to think she was calm and left the room. She heard her parents chatter about how they should maybe switch their daughter to normal classes. Nayeli then silently punched a hole in a figurative wall and quickly whispered so many colorful words that you do not even know what she said. She then just sat right on her chair that she received the worst grade that was possible. She just sat there for thirty whole minutes, thinking about all of what she did wrong and what she could have changed. She then went ahead and opened the tab again- the tab with her assignment once more and realized something. The grade was not an F. It actually was a A minus. An A minus. She then silently cheered in her mind and walked outside to where her parents were. She then figured that if she were to tell her parents something like “Oh yeah you guys sorry to confuse you I was just really stupid and kind of just like thought I had an F when I really had an A” they would worry- a lot. So, she instead just simply walked up to them and said “And that was our drama club practice. I hope you enjoyed it!” Her parents then calmed down with a big huge sigh of relief thinking that the whole thing was an act and said “That was amazing acting Nayeli!”

As the three friends traveled through the night garden, they wondered what they would find. Hazel wanted to see some exotic flowers, Harry wanted to see some rare creatures, and Lisa just wanted to go for the sake of exploring. They all had their reasons. At first, the garden looked like nothing special. Just a pile of leaves and a few decorations. But then they saw someone else in the garden talking about treasure. They were all quite curious so they said “What treasure?” and the man quickly responded by saying “You don’t know the treasure of the night garden? Well, then why did you come? That’s the only reason people came in my time” We then all told him about our thoughts and he quickly responded with “Well then that is quite a dumb reason. I will tell you all about the treasure.” He then the friends to follow him and at first they were a little nervous to do so but they realized that their curiosity would not let them not do that so they started following him to wherever he was leading them. He then walked past a few exotic flowers and Hazel quickly started taking pictures of them while he was still walking to this so called “treasure”. He then said “Hazel, you better hurry up with those photos girl we don’t have all day” Hazel was very curious why this mysterious man was in such a rush or even knew her name. It's only 10 am- yeesh. She then started walking with her two other friends who seemed just as frightened as she did. After walking for approximately twenty minutes the man who the friends did not know the name of said “Here it is!” as he pointed his fingers all around the room. They were quite freaked out of what was there. A legendary scroll talking all about a secret treasure.

You follow the trotting animal to a group of people - three of which wholesomely smile at you. “I'm Pika! These two are Vivi and Pandora. Welcome to the Adventure Mountain Survivalists!!” Pika said

PIKA'S WEEKLY!!!



Part 1 - 651 words:

“This goat!! IS NOW MINE!! MWAH HA HA HA!!!!”

Pika looked at the Non-fi camper in front of her. No. No one could steal a goat - the glorious, faithful creature - from Adventure - NO ONE! The goats were hers, the goats belonged to Adventure. Without a goat, who could she hike with? Who could she play and live with? The goats weren't simply a part of her life, they were her life. A life without goats was a life she didn't want to live. Pika was left with only one option, bargaining. That goat would be hers again. Pika needed it.

“I am Pika, leader of the Adventure Mountain Survivalists,” Pika declared, staring immensely at the foe cowering in front of her. “Who are you?”

The Non-fi compared replied, “Deli! And I have stolen your goat! You shall obey my demands!”

Pika shook her head, her thick, brown hair flying into her face. “NO! I GET TO DEMAND. AND I DEMAND THAT GOAT YOU SO UNRIGHTFULLY STOLE! GIVE US BACK THE GOAT. That goat is a glorious being and property of Adventure. Well, the goat isn't our property but for legal reasons it is but we don't treat our livestock like that - trust me, they have very free lives and they are always happy and have anything and everything they need, and- HEY DON'T DISTRACT ME!”

The Non-fi camper grinned, showing her very suspicious expression. “I've hidden that goat. Kit can't find it, you can't find it. NO ONE CAN FIND IT!!! I stole it from the basement!”

The basement? Oh no! That meant it was… No, no, no! Alpine the goat! Alpine was young, had a white pelt with gray splotches, and had the cutest little nubs for horns. She was very rich for a goat, but also very kind and appreciative. If anyone deserved to be stolen, it was Unnamed Goat Number One, not precious Alpine!

Pika tried to straighten her back, but her terrible posture did not allow her. “I demand Alpine back!” she ordered.

“How ‘bout a trade! TRADE OFFER! I give you back your ’glorious' goat and I get the flying pig! DEAL!?” Deli suggested with a cocked eyebrow.

Pika was about to open her mouth to add to that, but a Laxy suddenly appeared behind her. “How ‘bout we get both the flying pig AND the goats, but we’ll give you a flying piglet! Huh? Huh???”

Deli stomped her foot and shook her head more furiously than the sound of thunder. “NO. NO DEAL!”

“What about…” Pika piped, failing at a charismatic grin. “Hmmm, oh, I know! I'll give ‘ya thirty cucumbers, two-hundred liters of hydration, a magical amulet that lets you control the emotions of those you interact with!! All we ask for in return are the goat and the flying pig!”

Deli took a step back and chuckled, saying a few words to herself. “Okay, listen up, kid. I am the QUEEN of hydration. I don’t need no hydration from you!”

Now it was Pika's turn to laugh. Rich, pure laughter chortled out of her as she wheezed for air. “Y-you!?!?? PFFFTTTT- Kay, sorry not sorry, I AM the Hydration Matters kid ‘round here. EVERY DAY I say that on the announcements. EVERY DAY kids say at me ”hydration doesn’t matter“ and I respond with ”yes it does!“ and EVERY DAY I am the ONE to drink nice, cold hydration out of my water bottle. It is I who hydrates, it is I who is the one with all the hydration power and it is MOST SURELY I WHO SHALL HAVE MY GOAT BACK!”

Everyone in the room stared at Pika. They all awkwardly exchanged glances and wondered what to say to break the awkward silence.

“No offense,” Kit said, “But how'd you become a leader again?”

Pika gently nodded, offering a sincere smile to her camper. “I'm not sure, Kit, I'm not sure.”



Part 2 - 372 words:

Monty trotted into the room- the film studio. It was a very colorful room. Lots and lots of things on display. He couldn't help but wonder what everything tasted like… The couch looked the most delicious - its vibrant blue color only adding on to the appealing effect. Though the neon yellow armchair was looking rather scrumptious as well… No, no, no! Pika made it very clear to Monty that he shouldn't eat anything besides food. Uhg… it was so tempting…

The glorious goat tilted his head to make sure everything was clear. He took a few more steps, wishing his hooves weren't so loud and wouldn't make CLANK CLANK CLANK sounds against the floor. Almost there… Monty jerked forward and wrapped his mouth against the armrests on the couch. His teeth began chewing, and the tastes began to slide into his mouth. So good!

“MONTY!?”

The animal froze. He slowly turned his head to see a frantic Robin staring straight at him. Oops-

“Meaah!?” Monty bleated, dropping moist couch fabric from out of his mouth.

“No, no, no, no, no, NO! Monty!? How could you? The campers are coming today and we're already behind enough as it is and you ATE THE COUCH! Monty, you know I'm going to have to tell Pika and then she'll get the spray bottle out and-”

“MEAHEAHHAHH!!!” NO! Not the spray bottle! Monty already had PTSD from last week when he ate his master's bed…

Robin stopped and grinned. “Oh, so you don't want the spray bottle, Monty?”

Monty nodded furiously. Anything but the spray bottle!

“Tell ‘ya this,” the leader reasoned, “I won’t tell Pika if you help me today with all the campers and filming. Deal?”

“MEaH!” Monty agreed, thankful for the amazingness of Robin and her kindness.

Robin gestured for Monty to follow her out of the room. “Alright then, Monty. What would you like to do?”

Monty let out a mischievous grin. There was always one thing he wanted to do… “Meahhhh, meah mEEAh meaah MEAAH eeAh eeHha EAHHAHEHAHHE!!!! Meeeah?”

Robin let out a chuckled. “You wanna be a director? Sorry, Monty, not happening. That's my job! You can clean the floors, though!”

Aw, come on! Floors don't taste good at all!



PART 3 - 365 words:

The girl in front of me smiles and wraps an arm around me. She throws her other hand out and hits it in the air as she speaks. ”The Adventure Mountain Survivalists! Has a great sound to it, don't ‘ya think?“

I back away from that weird kid in front of me. Personally, I think that’s a mouthful. What are we surviving anyway? Who would name a mountain Adventure Mountain anyway? What was wrong with that person!?

”Not impressed, huh?“ Pika said, failing at raising an eyebrow. ”Well, come on! Let me show you everyone else!“

She gestures a hand for me to follow. The goat bumps me yet again so I decide to follow. I really need to get this all sorted out… What's with this place and goats? Are they really that amazing? They just seem like smelly, loud animals to me.

”This is Lax! That's Kit! There's Amy, Forinah, Nayeli, Hydro, Kat, and Violet! Over there is Val and Westy! And Rubi, Moss, Bee, Hyanna, Mae, Claire, Beluga, Sohpie, Emmy, Rogue, Maha, Abby, are all over that ridge. CC, Pen, Roya, Olivia, and Brie are by those trees. Elie is right over there, standing by Gia, Ash, Liv, and Air!“

W-who was in charge of naming those children? I mean, some of those were very standard, but the rest? What?

Pandora looks at me and offers a generous smile. ”Hey, it's all OK! You'll figure things out soon enough!“

Vivi nods. ”Mh-hmm! Yeah! We're all pretty chill - when we want to be, that is!“

Pika joins in. ”Yep! Being competitive is fun, but we'd rather just mess around and write and be somewhat chaotic! Just do whatever floats your goat!“

”You mean floats your boat?“ I asked in a frightened tone.

The leader shakes her head and lets out a weirdly charismatic smile. ”Nope! We do have one rule. THE GOATS ARE GLORIOUS AND ARE TO BE RESPECTED AT ALL TIMES AND WE MUST PRAISE AND GLORIFY THEM AT ALL TIMES!“

”Uh-“

”Welp!“ Pika exclaims and turns around. ”See ‘ya in camp!" She waves and skips over the hill.

I have no idea what I’m getting into, do I?





PART 4 - 1106 words:

Monty bleated as loud as he could. “MEAAAH!” he said, wishing anyone anywhere would hear his plea for help. “MEA!!! EAEAEEAAHHH!!! eEAh! eeAah… eaaah… mea…” he kept trying and trying, but eventually gave up. No one would come to help him.

The goat looked up. Above him was a hook, a shiny silver one with black rubber here and there. It had touched him time after time, but it had never picked him up all the way. Very few animals had been saved. He was lucky, he was near the top of the pile. There was a baby goat and a mermaid in shades of pink right next to him. It was all a very colorful display, but that didn't make it right. Monty would be stuck here, in a glass box, for the rest of his stuffed animal life.

Claw machines are the worst.

“OOH!! A CLAW MACHINE!” a child suddenly screamed.

Monty would normally have hope, but he couldn't. No child could save him from his despair.

Monty looked through the glass once more, barely believing what he was seeing. Was it true? Could he really be saved by those children in front of him? It was doubtful… They didn't seem the most skilled. But the excitment in their faces? That was golden. That was true. Those children sure looked determined enough - so maybe they did posess the skill?

There were three of them. A short one, a tall one, and a medium one. The tall one had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She had a huge smile on her face, under her fallen mask. The short one had blonde hair dirtied with dark blonde and brown. Her eyes were also brown. But the medium sized one, she had short hair that was thick and light brown. Her mask was on around her face properly and she had green eyes. Monty liked the brown ones better. The green ones were way too much.

“AHAHH LOOK IT'S A GOAT!”

“HERE YOU HERE'S MY MONEY GET ME THAT GOAT!”

“YEAH OKAY I'LL DO IT!”

Monty was not aware who said what, but they all were excited. Wait a minute… A goat? Like Monty? Monty suddenly cheered! He was to be saved! Finally! He'd been waiting for this his whole life - and it was finally happening?

The hook went past him several times, and it even wrapped around his horns once or twice. It was near the end of the time limit that the hook snatched him again. He went closer and closer and closer to the drop zone, but would it be enough? He's been moved around plenty of times before, but that was way too far. He'd never make it. Monty would be dropped on that blue hippo and be left to wait for the rest of his life.

Monty bleated with joy as he slid down the small drop. He was free of the pain! The claw machine - it's terrible rule was gone!!

“OKAY MONTY!! We got this, we need to be Poetry!” Pika told Monty, typing furiously on her keyboard.

“MEAH!”

“Aw, Come on, Monty!” Pika said, keeping her eyes on the screen and all her words going on there. Just a few more sentences. “I just need to finish this weekly! All of my campers are depending on me! Well, maybe not, but they should! Well I mean, I need to do this because of how much I've let them down because of those trips during cabin wars and we lost points and this is all awful and I just need to fix this so-”

“EaEAHHAHHHH! mMeahh!” Monty belted with a goaty grin.

“Ah, you're right, Monty.” Pika said as she looked back at her chrombook. “I need to take a breather, I have all the time I need. Not like I have a weeks worth of points to add or anything.”

Monty cocked an eyebrow. Well, if he was a goat he would have. It was a bit hard for him to do as a goat, but as a human it would've been the best raised eyebrow in the world. Too bad he didn't have eyebrows.

“OH COME ON MONTY DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO REMIND ME!”

“MEAH!”

“MONTY I PROMISE I WILL MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE END IN A VERY CHAOTIC WAY WITH NO CUCUMBERS BECAUSE YOU JUST HAD TO GO ABOUT THAT AND RUIN MY DAY AND-”

“MEAHHEAH EHAHEAHH hEAA meeeAH!” Monty bleated, trying to reason with his master. She was taking this way too far.

Pika frowned and pet Monty another time. He was too correct - it was rather annoying, if Pika was being 100% honest. “Aw, come on! MOnty, stop being so logical! I'm very well aware of this. I know it's my job to add words, but that takes too long! I never have anytime to write, and I just want to reach my word goal! And the Survivalist Journal. I AM SO BEHIND ON THAT IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY! LITERALLY NOT FUNNY AT ALL!”

Monty shoved Pika a few times with his stubby horns. He bleated a few more wise words again, annoying Pika even more. Pika just wanted her annoying goat to shut up and let her do the weekly.

“Okay, fine, maybe instead of finishing the weekly tonight I'll just do it tomorrow. Then, tonight I can just hang out with my campers and have a fun time. Does that sound OK to you, Mr. Monty the Mountain Goat?”

Monty shook his adorable little head. “MEH!”

“UGGG!!!” shouted Pika, extremely frustrated. She strung her fingers through her hair and let her nose look rather unpleasant. How was that fair? Her goat had literally impossible standards! This was not fair or right at all! Who knew having a goat would be so troublesome?

“Listen, Monty,” Pika continued. “Remember that claw machine? How I saved you from it? Granted, it was my friend's money, but I had paid the money before! You are my goat, MINE, and I have every right to do what I want with my time and my words. HEAR ME MONTY!?”

Monty ran around Pika, bleating happy little words as he made fun of his master. All that earned him was a mad glare and a furious groan.

“Okay, Monty, you win. I'm gonna go talk to Vivi and Pandora and see how they're doing. See 'ya later, goat.”

Monty bleated his goodbye.

Pika was walking out of the room, but managed to say one more thing. “ALSO FOR THE RECORD YOU ARE NOT THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!”

“Alright guys,” Birdi says, “we have to be productive this meeting.”

“Productive is not a word in my dictionary,” Alba retorts easily. “Who wants cookies?”

The hosts all help themselves to Alba’s delightful cookies. The room is quiet as they chew. That’s quietest the room will be for… well, until the hosts finish.

“What are the numbers like?” Honey asks curiously.

Kat shrugs. “A lot,” she replies very helpfully. “I’ll bet it’s gonna be chaotic.”

“It’s always chaotic. And Dhriti and Elfie are leaders, there’s no way it won’t be crazy. Anyway, does anyone have any cool ideas they want to bring up?”

“Mangoes,” Bakie throws in. “I think we need mangoes.”

“Already done. Of course we have mangoes! Who do you think I am?” Birdi retorts.

Bakie and Kat start eagerly chanting, “Mangoes! Mangoes! Mangoes!”

Alba laughs quite diabolically as she leans back in her chair. “I’m going to bribe everyone in this room against you with mangoes, Birdi. Then they’ll all die whatever I say, and we’ll take over SWC.”

Honey elbows Alba. “No, we wouldn’t turn against you, Birdi.” But everyone in the room knows that isn’t true. With mangoes, anyone in all of SWC can be easily manipulated. Birdi makes note to watch her back.

After that, they’re productive for a whole ten minutes. They help Kat place the last of the campers into their cabins and begin setting of the project to count points. All of a sudden, the topic changes from dividing up who will alert which leaders to whether or not a bagel is a donut.

The debate is quite passionate.

“It’s a donut,” Birdi firmly resolves. “Case closed.”

“No!” Bakie cries incredolously, “No, it’s not a donut.”

“Oh really? And why not?” Alba challenges.

“It just… isn’t! It’s not right, it just isn’t.”

“You’ve lost this argument,” Honey concludes. “Anyway, next topic.”

“We can’t just drop this,” Kat demands, taking Bakie’s side. “A bagel isn’t a donut.”

They continue to argue and debate, but eventually they settle down again. Talk goes back to practical matters, and they pull out their laptops to start sending all the necessary messages to the leaders and cos.

“I’ve alerted the leaders of Poetry, Adventure, and Fan-fi,” Alba chirps.

“Great, that’s the last of em. Now we need to get the Main Cabin into half decent order.”

“Nah, I think we should leave it the way it is,” Kat says, “Write 10 billion words or perish? It’s perfect.”

Alba starts working on it, but Birdi throws in ideas that aren’t really ideas at all, just goofy things. The other hosts jump on the bandwagon. Honey suggests adding a whole section dedicated toward mangoes. Bakie thinks making the thumbnail a mess of chaotic scribbles would be funny, and she draws an example for all the other hosts.

Finally, after hours of goofing around and serious work, SWC November 2021 is officially under way to commence. It’s a bit overwhelming, having four hundred plus campers all reared up and ready to go, but they’ll be okay. Whatever happens, SWC is going to be a blast.

“Hurry! Hurry hurry hurry!”
While campers are sound asleep in their cabins, the hosts and cohosts are rushing to finish any last minute work.
“I need daily ideas,” Bakie says, tapping her pencil against the table. “Does anyone have any ideas?”
“I FOUND THE MANGOES!”
Birdi comes sprinting inside, cradling a basket of mangoes. She sets them on the table.
As usual, they’re gone within ten minutes.
Without the help of the three leaders, Bakie and Kat work out the final set of dailies. While they do, a leader comes sprinting out of their cabin.
“Birdi?” They say breathlessly. “One of my campers has been adding, like, ten thousand words every day.”
Birdi sighs. “Probably fake—no one can write that much. If you could ask for proof, that would be great.”
The leader backs out, smiling and waving their thanks. They run back to their cabin, the cohosts and hosts not looking to see which cabin they came from. Too much to do.
“Birdi! It’s time to—“
The clock on the wall chimes. It’s midnight. Birdi quickly updated the daily for campers.
“DONE!” Kat and Bakie call.
“The weekly, too,” Alba says, peering over Birdi’s shoulder. “Wow—lots of people are adding last-minute points. Might as well update that, too.”
The new description is in. When Birdi looks up, Alba has an unfinished mango in her hand. “There are more??” Birdi exclaims. Alba considers this question before nodding slowly.
“You can have one,” she says in a voice hardly above a whisper, “and only one. Don’t tell the others.”
Birdi has a sly smile on her face, now. But upon turning around, she sees the cohosts giving them confused looks.
“What?”
“You have more??” Kat asks. Alba laughs a bit sheepishly.
“Uh- well- I might-“
“And you didn’t tell us?” Honey exclaims, kicking open the door with a stack of papers in their arms.
“You can all have some,” Alba says finally. “I mean, one. You can have one.”

Later that night, the hosts and cohosts sit around a table, exhausted.
“I can’t believe this session is already almost over,” Honey says through a sigh. The others all nod. All except Birdi, who’s still eating a mango. She looks up, eyes widening innocently, the nods.
“Oh, yeah,” she says after swallowing. “Me too. It’s been a crazy session. It’s weird having to run camp with single-host cabins.”
“Definitely,” Bakie agrees.
“And multiple leaders dropped out,” Kat adds, earning more nods from the group.
After sitting in silence for just a few minutes, Alba speaks up.
“We should probably check on the campers,” she says. Birdi shrugs.
“They’re probably fine. They’ve got their leaders to watch them.”
“The leaders should be asleep,” Bakie points out. Kat raises an eyebrow.
“You’re one to talk,” Honey says. “We should be asleep, too.”
“Isn’t there something else we should-“
“I FINISHED THE DAILY!”
A camper comes sprinting in, and the group sits up. Birdi goes over to add the points and Alba takes the paper from the camper.
“I’m going. We’ll add points tomorrow,” Birdi says. They all wish each other good night and head off.

SURVIVALIST JOURNAL FINAL POST

How could things have fallen so far? HOW COULD THINGS GO SO DREADFULLY WRONG!? Rella was being held captive at the Survivalist base, hoping her Survivalists were safe and would arrive promptly. Lipa was hovering over her former friend, explaining her case and what was to happen to Rella.

“Hm, so Rella. Bet you're wishing you forfeited while you had the chance.” Lipa - the leader of the Intensities - said with slanted eyebrows.

The Survivalist leader glared. Her hands were both literally and figuratively tied, but she was moments away from getting the knots loose. “NOT A CHANCE, LIPA.”

Lipa scoffed. “Oh, sweet Rella. As naive as ever. How I see it, you're in no position to talk back.”

“THEN YOU NEED TO GET NEW GLASSES!”

Rella turned her head as far as she could as Lipa walked around her. No way was she going to let Lipa out of sight.

“Wow - you really haven't grown up? Not a bit? That's… actually, painfully believable. You've always been such a sensitive and intense child. You should really figure out how to have better banter, maybe-”

“Lipa, seriously? That was dreadful talk. You need to have more-”

“OH LOOK WHO'S TRYING TO INSULT ME NOW! Rella, just see a therapist. You need help, serious he-”

“Wow, just WOW! You're the one who needs a therapist - you're humor is so bad. Jus-”

“HOLD UP, RELLA! I'm the mature one, I'M THE ONE WHO-”

Rella shook her head and chuckled. Lipa seriously thought she was going to win this one. "Let me clear this up, my dear friend. You literally think that you are mature? Now, now that's just sad. I really hope you can find happiness someday, really.“

”Ummm?“

Both leaders snapped their heads to that statement. Standing about ten feet away was the Survivalists, the Intensities, and the treasure. They had just witnessed the whole squabble and were staring with various looks, but all were valid responses.

Rella finished untying the ropes and stared at her Survivalists. The treasure… they didn't have it. The Intensities did.

”YOU GAVE THEM THE TREASURE!?“ Rella growled as she marched to her friends. ”No, we needed that! The Intensities are EVIL! They'll use that to blackmail and buy weapons and hurt nations - hurt innocent lives!“

The Intensities shook their heads. One of them piped, ”No! That's not true. We're going to buy luxuries and donate it!“

This wasn't happening. Rella looked at everyone. She had evidence of Lipa! A few witnesses, even! ”No! Don't fall for it. You guys are good people - don't fall prey to Lipa!“

The Intensity leader laughed. ”Oh, Rella! How humorous. Don't believe her lies, Survivalists! She wasn't even going to give you any treasure. Precious Rella was just using her to do her dirty work!'

“Listen to me!” Rella begged, with the most hopeful look in her eyes. “I love dirty work! I do my own dirty work! I was going to give y'all bits of gold and jewelry and stuff, but not the majority! It doesn't belong to us, it isn't ours. It was pirated many years ago, stolen from nations all over the world. We need to put it back in its place! Lipa is EVIL - ‘YA HEAR ME? Please, don’t fall for her trap!”

“LIES!!” Lipa yelled, throwing her arms out at Rella. “Don't believe such words!”

More and more moments of bickering passed. It didn't take long for sides to form. Both Survivalists and Intensities were all over the place, switching the side they were on over and over. What was happening? Who would take home the treasure? One thing is for sure: Rella is positive Lipa is evil, and Lipa is positive Rella is stupid. Where do you lie in this chaos, and who will you help?

Note to my friends of the Mystery Cabin

First off, I just want to say I am so happy I got in Mystery, because it was super fun. I don't think I would have been happier anywhere else(sorry other cabins xD). I'm literally crying over the fact that SWC is almost over, but it was great to get to know you all.

Minty: Saying that you're one of the best co-leaders I've had is an understatement. You're nice, kind, supportive, funny, caring and always motivating us campers. I'm so happy I got to meet you

Gigi and Fi: I remember when I was signing up, I saw your usernames and immediately put you two as my leader preferences. Gigi, you are a great cabin leader, no cap there, and Fi, I don't know when you're gonna stop accidentally giving points to horror, but it better stop soon >

Rin: RIN RIN RIN RIN RIN RIN I'M SO GLAD I MET YOU. You have an awesome personality, you're funny and kind, and you have way too many cookies so I had to take some(not sorry.) I honestly think you made my SWC 1000% times better, so thanks you. Also your art is just- *mwah*

Jade and Clem: Omg the way you guys have been motivating everyone had left me in complete shock. You guys do so much for this cabin, I'm just in absolute awe. Thank you guys so much!

FANTASY CAMPERS
I just- I-

This was my first session as a co, let alone a leader. I got a bit of both, hehe. From the first day, getting to know you all was such an incredible experience. I knew this session would be amazing. And that was just on the first couple days – as the session went on, I learned how entirely wonderful you all were. As a team, as individuals, and everything in between, you all blew my mind. Honestly.

Like when I was leading alone, or when Fawn left – you were supportive and helpful the entire time. You were patient with us when we were still figuring out what the heck to do. A few campers continuously organized things inside the cabin while Scarlet and I weren’t there, figuring out what would have to change and what wouldn’t. When Fawn and Scarlet were gone, you were patient with me as I went through adding everyone’s words. And when everything was up to campers to organize and deal with, you went right along with it.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first session as a leader. I’m extraordinarily grateful for every single one of you. It’s been an honor being your Guardian. Thank you for an incredible session and I really hope to see y’all in March <33

FANTASY COS
Scarlet: wowowow Scarletttttttt oh my goodness where to I even begin with you? When Fawn asked me if I wanted to colead alongside you and her, first thing I did was find your app. I was so happy. You have no idea. I was already excited enough to be a co, but with you and Fawn as well? I was ecstatic. And for good reason, too – as the session went on, I saw how hardworking and caring and helpful and amazing you are, and that hasn’t stopped. Thank you for being an amazing co-guardian <333333

JoJo: you just- blew my freaking mind. I know you said you were excited, but we just sprung the position on you, mid-session. And what did you do? You jumped right in, fitting the role perfectly. Not only had you been a wonderful camper and friend before, but as soon as – and even before – you were given the position of a co, you started helping around the cabin with questions from campers, handling the rules and enforcing them, and being a kind and welcoming co in general. Everything a co is supposed to do. I was so impressed and still am. Thank you sososo much for making that entire situation so much easier <3333

Fawn: I hope you didn’t think I wouldn’t include you here. Two things – I know you probably won’t see this, and I know you weren’t a co. That’s beside the point. You’ve always been one of the kindest people I’ve ever met on Scratch, so for you to choose ME as a co – me, of all people – was one of the happiest days of my life (I hadn’t met you before but I saw your app and it was super cool and beautiful and you just seemed like you had an absolutely wonderful personality). I hope that everything or at least some parts of what was going on in your life are getting better. Take care of yourself, Fawn, and thanks for starting us off strong <333333

Birdi: oh my gods, Birdi. You’ve been here from the start, and apart from being an absolutely incredible host, you’re an overall amazing person. I can always just randomly come and talk to you, whether it’s SWC related or not. If it is SWC related, you always give the best advice – and if not, we can just have a friendly chat. Thank you for making this whole community so much better Birdiiii

Alba: I just realized that I don’t think I’ve ever talked to you. That’s actually really sad – I’ve seen how talented you are, and how hardworking. It’s really impressive. I hope someday in the near future we can get to know each other better, because I know for a fact that you’re a great person, in and out of SWC <3

Kat: throughout the entire session, you’ve always been here. I still remember the surprise when seeing you’d asked about how I was doing when Fawn and Scarlet were both on trips and when Fawn left and if you could help in any way. You’re always so ready to support everyone whenever necessary, even with everything else you have to do. Like sorting the campers, for example – I can’t imagine how difficult that must be. You’re amazing, Kat <33

Bakie: I know we don’t know each other very well, but all the work you do with organizing dailies and weeklies has always been remarkable. You have a very warm personality, and you seem like such an easy person to talk to. I’m looking forward to seeing more of what you do next session and thanks for everything you add to SWC <3

Honey: againagainagain I don’t know you all that well but I do know for sure that you’re an extraordinarily hard worker and that you’re always there to answer questions and generally be there for campers when they need. You’re super helpful and funny and it makes everyone else’s lives so much easier so thank youuu


LEADERS/COLEADERS
So I would write notes for each individual leader but unfortunately I don’t know any of you very well so I’m going to write one mega-note for all of you. ALL of you - this is directed at every single one of you. Please believe me when I say that this isn’t me just spewing out compliments in random directions; I wish I could personalize this more but like I said, I don’t know most of you very well. I’m really hoping that’ll change soon thoughhh

Anyways. From the start, I knew this would be amazing. I was so warmly accepted as a new co, and as it was my first time, I was super nervous to meet everyone. But I soon realized how relaxed and funny and kind everyone was to everyone else. All the jokes told, the questions asked, the warm introductions – I never wanted that to end.

And lucky for me, it never did. You’ve all continued to be some of the best people I’ve ever worked with.

Examples: the first day, when I was chosen as a co. I was nervous, like I said before, especially since I’d never been a co before. I knew from my previous sessions that leaders were always kind and funny and relaxed, but I thought that being one would be entirely work. And it was a bit of a challenge at times, but always a rewarding one.
Another example: when I came in to tell you all that Fawn left, support just poured in. Despite the situation, it was heartwarming.

The relationship between all of you and campers and hosts and cohosts and everyone else has always been unbreakable. You never treat campers as if they’re below you. Everyone in SWC is treated as (relatively, appropriately) equal. So much of this is enforced by you, co/leaders. So thanks for being so welcoming, and thank you for working hard, as usual.

I don’t often see yall in thank you notes so I’m going to quickly acknowledge the MBC. You all work so hard every session to make our beautiful memory books, and it adds so much to the one month where SWC is generally the least active. So thank you all for your continuous hard work, I’m so excited to see this sessions memory book <33

Chapter 1: The powerful princess
Hello. My name is RoseMarry. I am a princess. Not just a princess. A powerful one. Many people are scared of me because of my Incredible power.
Chapter 2: My power
This is sad to say but I have harmed many people when I was small. The power came from my eye. It would turn red and shoot out stuff like it would harm people. My hands have power too. Sometimes when I get mad my hands can turn anything into ice.
Chapter 3: The accident
One day I was getting ready for breakfast like usual. Then something just happened. It was like controlling me. My eyes were red for some reason and my hands had the power of ice.I couldn’t understand how. I wasn’t mad or sad. How could this be possible?Suddenly my mom and dad came in to call me for breakfast. My eye Immediately shot out power and aimed at my parents. It killed both of my parents . I felt like I unleashed very strong power. The maid came in to bring some tea. She dropped the cups and screamed! She called the guards . The guards picked my parents up and buried them. Lots of people were there. They were looking at me like
crazy mad. I heard whispers about me.
Chapter 4: Life
Well it’s been 4 years now since my parents died. I was crowned queen. However lot’s of people hated me. There were some people that were so scared they wouldn’t dare to go outside. I felt alone in the dark world. I missed my parents. Actually I never wanted to have powers. I just wanted to have a great life. However that would never happen.
Chapter 5 : The dark world
One morning when I woke up I saw black. I couldn’t see anything. Then the lights turned on.I saw a dark figure . It said “ Hello Princess. You are in the dark world . Trapped . In order to get out you must defeat me.’’ I could believe it! Someone who would challenge me. Before we start you will get a fair deal. If you beat me you will get to meet your parents and go to heaven . If you lose then your soul is mine. ‘’Forever’’.’’;Deal’’ I said .I used all my powers on the dark figure. However it didn’t hurt. It was like he was unbeatable . I tried using my powers again and again. Nothing happened . After a while I figured that it was unbeatable if I just hit him with my powers. I had to figure out how to do something else in order to defeat him. ‘’Hmm’’ I thought. ‘’What about his weak spot? That will be a good idea but how will I know where his weak spot is?
Chapter 6: The light
I tried to look closely at the figure . I didn’t think he would have a weak spot. Therefore I thought again. Is there anything he would be afraid of? I mean It is really dark here. What if it is scared of light? Therefore I used my light power and shined it on the figure . It melted-.
Chapter 7; The victory
I couldn’t see the figure but it was speaking. It said ‘’ You beat me. Now I promised you the deal. You will go to heaven and meet your parents’’.wow! I couldn’t believe it!

First of all, I would just like to say one thing. I had so much fun this session– the roleplays, the people, the GOATS. Big shout out to Birdi and Alba for managing this totally not chaotic (but fun) camp. I have absolutely no idea how they do it– all the point adding, the.. everything! Also thanks to Candylanguagegirl for CREATING this camp in the first place.

Next, I would like to thank everyone in Adventure for being amazing and great people. I mean, the campers are the best part of SWC! There are so many, and if I even TRY and list them all, I'm one hundred percent going to forget a lot of you (no offense). Thank you Pika, Vivi and Pandora for /co/hosting this session in Adventure, you guys made it so much fun! And all your hard work put us in the top 5 for most of this session!

Thank you MacKenzie, from Fan-fi, for putting up with my horrible roleplay comments. It's honestly really great roleplaying with you! Phoenix (Nyx) is a great character, even if she watches a little TOO much anime. Link and Amber are really lucky to have you as a friend! (Well, I hope Link and Nyx are friends–)

Helloo everyone, thank you for this amazing session! I’ve never even tried to do so many thank you notes, but you all definitely deserve it. I realize a lot of our long-time leaders are stepping down for a break, so that is completely understandable, thank you for everything y’all have done for SWC - we love to constantly thank the hosts for all their hard work, but I can’t thank you all enough for being here and leading, because that takes a lot of work. But wow, this session has been a blast, and as old leaders depart, I love seeing the new ones come in, y’all always do an incredible job <3 Next session, I will be applying, and hopefully a lot of you all do so as well. I remember you being a super fun and motivating person as I tried to get like three assignments in on one night - I probably wouldn’t have been able to finish them without your happy mood. You’re always super nice and funny and an amazing person to talk with!! You’ve been such a great daily and weekly and workshop queen :star_struck: planning all that stuff must be hard, hehe. One of SWC’s fundamental base are those dailies, weeklies, and workshops and, queen (yet another one haha), you’ve made so many of those. Please be proud of yourself as you’ve accomplished many things and done so many things for this mini(?) writing camp as well as in real life, I bet

Sini: I am so embarrassed right now uwu owo because last session I sent you a very, very, VERY, short note. Well should I start off with the serious or kind of like ~ joky ~ note. Let’s do the serious, it’ll probably be very very short. Sini, wow, you’ve done quite a lot for SWC and you still do. You have incredible writing skills and such a vast vocabulary that I’ll never be able to grasp at. Your singing and piano playing is also very good even if we don’t hear much of it </3 You’re such an incredible GHost and an incredible friend. The debates I have with you are always very concise and clear, and your opinions make me rethink mine and I’m always willing to redo that debate of ours we did quite a while ago ;D Nevertheless, you are always there to support and motivate me and I can’t thank you enough.
But your point of view on French is bad… (do you see my incredible segway from the nice note to the ‘I’m about to insult you note’ - incredible, isn’t it?) French is a nice language, it flows easily but the vocabulary is so bad… And please, please, I’ve gone through countless classes explaining how verbs are conjugated…and you say French is beautiful? I had to suffer through millions of the same class, repeated over and over and guess what! I always forget I guess that’s why they repeat it, but at some point I just get tired of the “same old same old”, you know? I also think that…you are really scary >u< uwu owo :3 I know I’ve told you this story like ten times already, but did you know I was very (uwu) scared of starting a conversation with you? I mean like you’re kind of intimidating. I will never forget when you kicked me out from our humble abode or when you stopped the music ‘Was Ist Dein Lieblingsfach’ while I was vibing to it. As I write this you are probably on break so cherish the moments you get to spend relaxing and vibing (you deserve it so much queen, you’ve used your now coarsened hands to bring us so much happiness), and your birthday has passed, but congrats on living another year of your life that you used to bring us joy. I remember first seeing your application for SWC and I desperately wanted you, knowing that with those four others asking for you that you would never pick me. But you did!?! Shock; iconic. Goodness, I could have never survived that session without your help and guidance–you have built me up to the person I am now. You have modeled me into the leader I am, you have paved a road for me. Besides SWC, I’m so glad I got to know you, an incredible, fantastic, amazing, eloquent human being. Your writing is so out of this world, and you are truly,,, talented. Robin: ROBINOOOO <3 Our favorite Robinnn <3 You’re such a dedicated person, I can really tell ahah. Your applications for SWC are always so beautiful–whether it’s an artistic application or a music application, they’re always so…pulchritudinous?! You deserve so much for everything you have done for SWC–all the countless memories you’ve created, and the amount of betrayals you have caused… Shall I say that is iconic?! Even when you betrayed your own sister cabin… I am sad, yet very happy I got to know you - we still don’t talk too much to this day, but I’d love to get to know you more! Gigi: HI GIGI Gosh we have like,,, never talked and that’s another one of my regrets as I see you stepping down from leader </3 (which I completely understand, so I hope you continue as a camper because you’re really cool ^^) But since we’ve never talked I better go say hello so we can have an actually conversation–you’re one of those leaders that I just,,, admire for some reason haha. I didn’t get to know you this session (nor haven’t I gotten to know you this session) but you’re definitely epic from the glimpses I’ve seen you stalking your profile. I love your attitude with everything; you’re always super joyous and hyped up compared to me (aaa </3) and I bet that’s why your campers love you, hehe. You definitely deserved this leader position–from when I first met you I knew you were going to make a great leader, so congrats on your journey, haha I can’t wait to see how it unfolds in the future, Pika! Tandi: Tandi! You seem super sweet and cool and it must have taken a lot of courage to decide to lead once Fawn left. I hold a lot of respect for you since you did that–I don’t think I could’ve managed the pressure you must’ve felt ^^’ But you managed, under dire circumstances, to persevere and create a ‘new’ cabin and just push through this session without breaking a sweat. Your writing is absolutely phenomenal but I really just wanted to thank you for upholding the Fantasy cabin and the amazing job you did with it - you deserve so many thank yous for your incredibleness. Wow…what a journey leaders! Apologies for the cringiness, and the repetitiveness of adjectives. On to the co leaders. These will be very short notes (and apologies for that!) but as Alba once said (I believe?): “leaders are the glue to this camp” (not her exact words) but y’all are like,,,, the superglue that makes sure everything is secured. It’s still a great story and I should probably read it again. Then I was stalking your profile to see more stories and saw your application!! I was incredibly interested in the so-called ‘SWC’ and was very confused at the start, but ended up joining your cabin. That was probably one of the best sessions ever. The leader team with you, Livvy, and Wishes made that session a memorable one and it’s why I’m here typing this right now. You were genuinely my first Scratch friend and the one that changed my personality completely <3 You were the one who told me to reach for the stars with my first leader application, the one who was always there to support me. Okay, this session was incredible! When I got accepted as leader, I was it pure shock. I had fun making my app and all, but it felt like it was just for fun. I mean, I lead a lot in real life, but being a leader for an online writing camp? That sounded insane! And it was - INSANELY AWESOME! My hopes were to not dreadfully fail as a leader. And you know what happened? MY CABIN WAS IN FIRST FOR A GOOD ENOUGH MAJORITY OF TIME. I am so proud of everyone and I had no idea this would happen. At the beginning, we were in like 10th, and I decided that I didn't need to be competitive anymore. I just needed to have a fun time with my campers and write. Do you know what happened? We turned into the most active cabin(yes, I do a fair amount of stalking, our studio has the most recent comments at mostly any given time >) and ended up in first for a good amount of time. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and realized how blessed I was to be assigned such wonderful campers and given Adventure as my cabin. Everyone played a part in this - and I am so thankful!

This has been my 8th session and my first one as leader. It's so weird because I see people who are so well known and popular and then I discover that I've been doing SWC longer than them??? When I first joined, I didn't know anyone and nobody really tried to know me. But I liked writing so I stuck with SWC. As the sessions grew on I became more open and tried to make more friends, but I never really felt included. This isn't anyone's fault and I'm not blaming anyone, it was just how the situation went. There was just so much sayings and trends and things that I never really understood. I felt like there was some awesome place everyone went to to learn everything about SWC, a place where everyone except me was invited. Then one of my sessions, pretty much everything changed. The leaders I had were exactly what I needed - in other words, they did everything and more right. The campers were amazing, so friendly and kind. I realized that there were other new people and I was now the one meant to help. I really wish I realized in the first place that I didn't need to wait to be a friend to others - that opportunity was always there. Even now I find it hard to fit in, but when I decided/realized I could apply for leader, I took the opportunity. I dedicated my time to make the best application I could - and you know what? I did get accepted! I had one goal in mind, well, two: make sure the world knew how epic goats are, and to make sure everybody had a pure experience with lots of friends and fun memories. I sure hope I succeeded! So thank you, everyone out there who contributed to my journey and brought me to where I am today <3 D

You're a super busy person, but you always managed to have enough time to dedicate to our cabin and SWC! There's a lot of people out there who I would like to thank for helping me on my journey. Past leaders have influenced me so much! And the fact that I might be influencing others is crazy. Hosts in the past such ad Sini and Icy contributed so much and while they have no idea who I am, I thank you two so much! I have friends like Cherri, Boom, and a whole lot more who I always think about and hope to have fun with. There's this one camper who I forgot so please tell me if you see this, you needed some critique on some schoolwork/me to help you with it from the start xD It was so refreshing to help you. I was just like you a few years ago, and you helped me realize just how much I improved. I can still improve, and I know you will too! If, you don't become a better writer than me hehe.
