To not have a garbage operating system it must/ must be:

Open Source
Have No Data Collection
Let you customize
Full control
UI that doesn't look like Windows 2000
Dark Mode

Not exactly. Software can still be good without being open source, like I've said before, something being open source does not mean anything about the quality of the actual thing.

Not Open Source = They can put spyware in it without anyone knowing
Spying/ Data Collection = Bad OS

Network log on router would basically bypass anything right? Unless your OS can hack your router, in that case you have a really big problem.

Yeah, but it should be all those things. Also, some people like it, so there will be a “Welcome to '95” theme in BT.

ALSO, TALK ABOUT THESE THINGS ON THE MAIN POST LINKED ABOVE!

Windows 2000's UI was peak functionality over appearance. It's the complete opposite of “garbage”. It doesn't even look bad, its simple, its functional and it works.

Edit: And today's obsession with dark mode is pretty absurd. It offers little benefit over a good light theme in a lot of cases, and dark themes can be difficult to use for people with severe astigmatism. If you're developing something, please make sure it has a good quality light mode as well as a dark mode.

Use Scratch to emulate a kernel that basically runs a assembly-like programming language.

Makes a bit more sense on arduino or COSMOS tho…
